Chapter 2653 - Meeting Again
Chapter 2653 – Meeting Again
Heaven and earth were in chaos. Everything shook on all sides.
Snowy white chains of the natural order appeared, intent on dragging Su Yi away.
But the black sheep sensed it just in time, grabbing him and fleeing just in time. The chains hit nothing but air.
“Dammit!” A bellow resounded from deep within the dome of heaven. The Mountain Guardian Beast, Bai Mang, seemed startled. Its enormous frame came back into view.
It stretched out an enormous claw and swung ruthlessly.
Boom!!
That snowy white chain of the natural order split into countless pieces, scattering like rain.
Practically simultaneously, Bai Mang opened his mouth and exhaled. Dazzling golden light exploded into being.
Beneath the distant plains, a figure stood on the peak of a craggy, barren mountain. He was dressed in Daoist robes, and he wore a jade crown.
This was none other than Yu Chiyang of the Court of the Southern Heavens, a prominent faction of the River of Destiny.
During the battle in the Borderless Mountains, Yu Chiyang acted as the Myriad Daos Alliance’s pillar of support, working with Lu Shi to defeat Su Yi.
In the end, the heart devil in the rusted sheath destroyed his clone, damaging his true body on the River of Destiny in the process.
Yet now, here Yu Chiyang was again!
Yu Chiyang reacted as soon as the Mountain Guardian Beast breathed out golden light. He immediately drew a bronze mirror.
Bang!!!
The mirror shattered.
That golden light was incomparably tyrannical. As the mirror shattered, Yu Chiyang’s figure did, too.
Bai Mang grinned in apparent satisfaction, swept his gaze across the area, and said gravely, “All of you, listen up! The Patrolling Spirit commanded that before Red Pine Mountain appears, all who trespass here must die!!”
Its voice boomed far and wide, spreading far into the distance.
Only then did Bai Ming’s enormous figure gradually fade away.
Far away, beyond the firmament of the God Domain, across endless time and space, Yu Chiyang’s true body stood there with an ashen, unsightly look on his face.
He’d lost yet another clone!
His true body suffered a heavy backlash after the battle in the Borderless Mountains. Even now, he’d yet to recover.
Now, he’d lost yet another clone, adding new wounds on top of old ones. Even his foundations in the Grand Dao felt the impact!
If things go on like this, I’m afraid I’ll suffer a Karmic Tribulation… Yu Chiyang sighed. I’ll just have to wait for the Battle for Order to try again. When the time comes, the God Domain’s chaos source will completely dry up. I’ll naturally have means of entering the God Domain in the flesh!
As he pondered, his figure faded, then vanished in place.
……
Meanwhile, in numerous hiding spots across endless time and space, others watched from afar. All of them were experts of the River of Destiny!
“Heh heh. Yu Chiyang bit off more than he could chew and shattered his teeth!” someone laughed coldly.
“The competition in the God Domain isn’t about whose cultivation base is higher. It’s about timing! Yu Chiyang might be a Silent Realm Dao Lord, but his bad timing meant he failed—and lost a clone in the process!” someone else whispered.
“Within just half a month, the God Domain’s chaos source will fuse fully Beneath the Nine Abysses below Red Pine Mountain. That moment shall mark the beginning of the Battle for Order. Only then can we intervene.”
“Do any of you recognize that black sheep that saved Su Yi? Or know where it came from?”
“I have no idea.”
…There was no telling how many experts of the River of Destiny hid across an endless expanse of time and space, watching the area around Red Pine Mountain through the barrier between worlds.
They saw everything that happened between Su Yi and Yu Chiyang in full detail.
……
“Shameful.” Lu Shi shook his head.
Yu Chiyang’s approach was far too brainless. He thought he could seize Su Yi’s good fortune for himself, not realizing that countless others were watching Red Pine Mountain from afar. Even if he’d managed to suppress Su Yi, there was no way the others would let him monopolize Su Yi’s good fortune.
Something suddenly occurred to Lu Shi. He frowned. “Strange. There’s still no word from the seniors of the Lesser Court of Three Purities Temple. How could they miss this Battle for Order?”
……
“There are a lot of wolves here, but not much meat,” said an old-timer of Limitless Palace. “When the Battle for Order truly begins, who knows how many terrifying existences will get involved…?”
On the River of Destiny, the higher your cultivation, the more you were subject to the restrictions of the Natural Order of Destiny.
That meant that even during the Battle for Order, those who could send their true bodies into the God Domain all had relatively low cultivation bases.
Those with higher, more terrifying cultivation bases couldn’t enter the God Domain personally, but they could use unsurpassed divine abilities to intervene by force!
The Battle for Order soon to begin on Red Pine Mountain had long since drawn the attention of countless factions of the River of Destiny. Even Heavenly Sovereigns and their factions were paying attention.
The reason was simple. This Battle for Order was far too special!
First, whoever one would preside over the shifting of all great epochs, not just the God Domain. They’d become the true Master of the Epochs.
This was the only such opportunity in history, the first of its kind, and there wouldn’t be another like it.
Second, Su Yi was here! He carried the power of reincarnation and the Epoch Spark. Numerous experts of the River of Destiny had been targeting him for a long time now.
Third, everyone wanted to get their hands on that mysterious, ancient cauldron!
The cauldron’s origins were incomparably special, and it hid enormous mysterious and deep secrets. Numerous old-timers had scrambled to acquire it way back in the early days of the God Domain’s history, only to leave empty-handed.
When the Battle for Order began, the cauldron would reappear.
All of this combined had drawn the attention of the River of Destiny’s various top factions. All of them had long since begun preparations!
……
The Central Divine Continent.
The black sheep carried Su Yi through the desolate landscape, covering tens of thousands of miles in a flash, so quick it was unbelievable.
When the sheep first started carrying him, Su Yi found it hard to believe.
Now that he’d calmed down, he suddenly felt a bit strange about it. The one I’m riding isn’t really a black sheep, but rather, a mysterious expert from the River of Destiny, and… a woman at that.
Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep might not have liked the nickname I gave her, but now, she’s carrying me on her back… something doesn’t feel quite right here.
Suddenly, the black sheep stopped, shook her head haughtily, and wrote in the dirt, “You’re safe now. If this lofty one hadn’t intervened in time, you’d be dead already!”
“I sensed the danger, and was just about to act,” said Su Yi. “I didn’t guess you’d intervene before I got the chance.”
He sounded a bit exasperated. He really had sensed the imminent threat, and he’d been just about to draw the Sword of the Nine Hells to defend himself.
But then, the sheep appeared out of nowhere, dragging him away by force.
“Are you saying I should have minded my own business?” wrote the sheep. Then, she bucked Su Yi off her back. Then, it glared at him and wrote, “And I still haven’t punished you for the indignity of carrying you on my back!”
Su Yi could tell that the temperamental Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep was angry again. He said hurriedly, “You helped me. Of course I’m grateful!”
“I don’t need your gratitude,” wrote the black sheep. “You sensed what happened back there. The appearance of Red Pine Mountain has drawn the attention of countless old codgers from the River of Destiny. When the time comes, you’ll have to fend for yourself!”
Su Yi couldn’t help but frown. He really had sensed several extraordinarily dangerous presences in the vicinity of Red Pine Mountain.
He didn’t even need to think to know that Huang Yanleng had been right. Countless eyes were already watching the area around Red Pine Mountain!
Now, they were watching him, too.
“Are you afraid?” When she saw Su Yi sink into silence, the sheep wrote a barbed question in the dirt.”
Su Yi laughed. “I wasn’t even afraid of your master. How could I be afraid of old-timers too cowardly to even show themselves?”
The black sheep snorted coldly, but inwardly, she was quite vexed. Problems had arisen with her memories, and she couldn’t remember who her master was.
But, out of consideration for her face, she couldn’t bring herself to ask Su Yi.
“Let’s go,” said Su Yi.
According to his calculations, half a month remained until the ruins of Red Pine Mountain appeared. He planned to find a place to go into seclusion until the time came.
The sheep turned away and ignored him.
Su Yi walked up to her and patted her head. “Enough. I acknowledge that you saved my life, so don’t be angry. You’re a lofty, prominent expert of the River of Destiny; don’t be so petty.”
The sheep headbutted his hand away, then bleated, too angry to even write. She seemed to be saying, “Just try to touch my head again!”
Su Yi couldn’t help but laugh. I’ve got to say, teasing Miss Baa Baa Black Sheep is a lot of fun.
The sheep, meanwhile, was both ashamed and furious. How could I bleat like that again? It’s just too shameful!
Who in the River of Destiny would dare to touch my head like that?
Back then, anyone who tried… No, anyone who so much as showed me the barest hint of disrespect would have died countless times over by now!
But he obviously doesn’t take me at all seriously. He actually dared… to pet me!!
The black sheep felt the powerful urge to kick him to death.
But it was then that a voice suddenly emanated from afar. “Where did that black sheep come from?”
The black sheep was stunned, but her anger quickly faded, giving away to calm clarity. Still, she was stunned. Someone managed to get close without me noticing them?
A moment later, she noticed a figure heading their way. He had thin, distinctive features, and he was dressed in plain robes. He carried a scroll, and he had the air of a scholar of the mundane world.
The moment the black sheep laid eyes on him, an indescribable sense of crisis coursed through her.
Su Yi saw this new arrival too, and he couldn’t help but be stunned. After a brief pause, he said, “I don’t know either. All I know is that she’s from the River of Destiny.”
This was none other than Xiao Jian!
Xiao Jian silently took a step forward, then looked the sheep up and down. “It’s dangerous. If you aren’t familiar with it, better to err on the side of caution.”
“You can determine her strength?” exclaimed Su Yi.
