Chapter 2630 - His Second Incarnation, Jiang Wuchen!
Chapter 2630 – His Second Incarnation, Jiang Wuchen!
Strange phenomena arose beneath the dome of heaven, provoking widespread astonishment.
When these calamitous visions appeared over the Eastern Victory Divine Continent, even the powerful experts of other divine continents sensed it.
“This battle is seriously provoking so many strange phenomena?”
Countless people’s hearts palpitated.
The whole world was paying to the battle in the Eastern Victory Divine Continent. When they sensed the strange phenomena playing out beneath the dome of heaven, how could they fail to realize the cause?
“Judging by these strange phenomena, I’m certain that powers beyond the limits of the God Domain’s chaos source have descended into the God Domain!”
“It seems that the two alliances invited numerous terrifying existences from the River of Destiny.”
“It’s… really hard to say what will become of Sword Venerate Su this time!”
…
Meanwhile, on Sunset Perch Island, the atmosphere was utterly stifled.
Wen Qingfeng, Wan Zitian, Xi Ning, Yi Chen, Luo Qingdi, Luo Xanji and the others gazed into the dome of heaven with rapt attention, their expressions full of undisguisable worry.
Su Yi had decided to go into battle in the Borderless Mountains all by himself. He’d refused to let anyone else accompany him.
Thus, all everyone on Sunset Perch Island could do was wait patiently for further news. They naturally had no way of knowing just what kind of grand battle was unfolding over the Borderless Mountains.
Now, when they sensed the terrifying phenomena in the Eastern Victory Divine Continent, their hearts clenched. None could remain calm.
Brother Su, don’t forget that you promised to marry me. If… If anything happens to you… Xi Ning said inwardly, Then, as your wife, I’ll avenge you. I won’t stop until I’m dead!
Her eyes shone with determination.
She often heard Su Yi say that you had to expect the worst and strive for the best. Now that she’d planned for the worst, she wasn’t as uneasy and frantic as the others.
She knew that if something happened to Su Yi, she wouldn’t weep or wail, nor would she hesitate. She’d repay blood with blood and seek revenge against his killers until her dying breath!
But although Xi Ning didn’t know it, deep within the mysterious mark in her soul, in the murky landscape she frequented in her dreams, an ethereal voice rang out. “If something happens to him, what was the point of waiting for him in the cycle of reincarnation all this time…?”
A moment later, that ethereal voice suddenly filled with staunch conviction. “No, nothing will happen to him!”
……
Meanwhile, over the Borderless Mountains, calamitous phenomena surged forth, but they couldn’t descend into the world below. An invisible barrier seemed to keep them at bay.
The atmosphere was stifled and oppressive.
The experts of the River of Destiny exchanged glances. The auras emanating from their bodies were so intense that the onlookers could barely breathe.
Su Yi had experienced numerous such scenes in this lifetime, but this was unquestionably the most perilous situation he’d faced yet.
These old-timers were just too terrifying!
The Malevolent Sword Venerate kept the Sword of the Nine Hells firmly under control.
But Su Yi wasn’t afraid, nor was he panicked. He just stood there quietly, his eyes as deep as abysses. They didn’t so much as ripple.
“Fine,” the Malevolent Sword Venerate said suddenly. “Go ahead and attack him. I promise not to intervene.”
The crowd was stunned.
“Truly?” Old Daoist Crow said with a frown, his robes billowing around him. His hands gripped his bamboo staff, and his presence was utterly terrifying.
But he was obviously afraid of the Malevolent Sword Venerate.
The others looked over, too. All of them were naturally well aware of how terrifying he was, and they found it hard to believe that he’d back down so easily.
“A man’s word is his bond,” the Malevolent Sword Venerate said coldly. “Everyone in the Eternal Heavens Domain knows that I’m a man of my word.”
“That’s true, actually,” Cang Lingzi said with a nod. His disheveled long hair billowed around him, and his eyes glinted like knives. Blood-red markings rose from the nine-story treasure tower he held aloft on his palm.
Among those present, he had a particularly extraordinary status. He was the subordinate of Heavenly Sovereign Yaoguang, and he was a peak expert in his own right.
“But I don’t believe it.” Dao Lord Jin Hua shook his head. “You might not participate now, but how could you possibly remain unmoved after we’ve killed Su Yi?”
He looked like a promising young scholar, and he had a golden moon totem on his forehead. It was quite striking.
The Malevolent Sword Venerate glared icily at him. “I hate nothing more than others disparaging my character. How about we leave immediately and find a place to duke it out privately?”
Dao Lord Jin Hua instantly looked stricken.
“Hah! Malevolent Sword Venerate, you aren’t Jiang Wuchen!” someone said coldly. “We’d believe Jiang Wuchen, but that doesn’t mean we’ll believe the incarnation of his negative karma!”
The speaker was a bald, fat old man in purple robes. He carried a cattail fan, and his eyes shone like blazing suns.
Jiang Wuchen!
The Greatest of the Unthroned in the Eternal Heavens Domain.
And the Malevolent Sword Venerate was the incarnation of his negative karma.
Jiang Wuchen was a true gentleman, modest and refined, but the Malevolent Sword Venerate was nothing like him. He was cold, cruel, tyrannical, and ruthless. The two represented opposite extremes.
The Malevolent Sword Venerate furrowed his brow, but before he could respond, someone else chimed in, “We know what you’re after, Malevolent Sword Venerate. You just want to borrow our hands to kill Su Yi. As the incarnation of his past life’s negative karma, you’ll naturally be at an advantage when it comes time to claim the treasures he leaves behind!”
The Malevolent Sword Venerate seethed with murderous intent. He swept his gaze across the group and said coldly, “I see you all think quite poorly of me. In that case, why not kill me first?”
Boom!
His aura billowed, sword intent sweeping forth like the tides, enveloping heaven and earth and suppressing everything around him.
Countless experts’ pupils constricted.
“Actually, I think we might do just that,” Dao Lord Jin Hua said gravely. “We’ll kill you first, then compete amongst ourselves to take Su Yi down. Otherwise, you’re sure to seize the advantage!”
The others exchanged glances. Although none of them said anything, they were obviously tempted.
He was from the River of Destiny. He naturally knew of the Malevolent Sword Venerate.
Su Yi took this all in calmly, not saying a word. Jiang Wuchen? Is that my second incarnation’s name?
From beginning to end, no one paid Su Yi any heed. They took for a mere lamb to the slaughter, prey they could divvy up as they pleased.
Boom!
The wind and clouds shifted, and the sky was plunged into upheaval.
Terrifying murdered intent surged around the gathered experts. All of them were ready and raring to go.
“Lower your head, and I’ll help you kill these old-timers.” The Malevolent Sword Venerate looked at Su Yi, seemingly out of nowhere. “I won’t just destroy their clones. Later, I’ll hunt down their true bodies, too! You ought to understand that there’s no point in struggling any further, and we were originally the same person to begin with. If I live, in a sense, you’ll live on, too!”
Many of the others furrowed their brow. None of them could figure out what the Malevolent Sword Venerate was up to.
Before Su Yi could respond, gentle laughter emanated from afar. “You’re dreaming!”
A figure appeared accompanying this voice, a thin-faced man in plain robes. He carried a book.
It was Xiao Jian!
Su Yi’s eyes narrowed. He’s seriously here too? But then, it makes sense. The battle in the Borderless Mountains caused such an enormous disturbance. Of course he noticed it!
It was then that all of the gathered higher-ups noticed Xiao Jian.
The Malevolent Sword Venerate’s brow furrowed. He didn’t recognize Xiao Jian, but he felt as if he’d encountered a fated enemy.
The Sword of the Nine Hells was even buzzing in his grip. At this rate, he’d soon lose control of it!
All of this combined told the Malevolent Sword Venerate that something strange was afoot.
“Who are you? It seems you want to get mixed up in this too?” The short, fat, bald man in purple robes said gravely.
The others looked confused, too. None of them had seen Xiao Jian before, and they had no idea who he was.
Xiao Jian ignored them all. It was as if he were deaf.
He took a step forward, floating onto the battlefield and directly ignoring the gathered experts to look at the Malevolent Sword Venerate.
“A mere incarnation of negative karma dares dirty such a treasure with his touch. How truly interesting,” said Xiao Jian. When he looked at the Sword of the Nine Hells, his expression shifted inscrutably.
The Malevolent Sword Venerate’s brow furrowed. He hated nothing more than others calling him “negative karma” to his face.
Meanwhile, the fat old man who Xiao Jian had so blatantly ignored glared. “Aren’t you being overly rude, sir? I asked you a question. Didn’t you hear—”
Boom!
His voice came to an abrupt halt.
A streak of sword qi exploded into being, seemingly ignoring the confines of time and space. It cleaved directly into the fat old man’s skull.
Bang!!
It was just one slash, but it left a startling gash on the old man’s body and sent him flying thousands of feet. A muffled cry escaped his lips.
Although he recovered instantly, his figure was already indistinct. When he next looked at Xiao Jian, his expression was full of shock and fury.
The other higher-ups were stunned, too. Each had a different look on his face.
This attack had come far too suddenly, and it had almost destroyed the old man’s clone in a single strike.
The way many of the gathered experts looked at Xiao Jian shifted. Who is this guy? How could he be so powerful?
Xiao Jian disregarded the crowd, then whispered to himself as if he found the situation an awful pity, “It’s a shame that the power of the God Domain’s chaos source remains. Otherwise…”
He trailed off, but the crowd could guess the rest. They exchanged glances, all of them feeling increasingly bewildered. Don’t tell me that he’s from the River of Destiny too?
But if so, why haven’t any of us heard of him before?
Xiao Jian turned to look at Su Yi. “Do you remember our last meeting in the Path of the Ancient Gods? I said that next time we met, I’d end you with my own two hands.
“Not long ago, I paid a visit to Sunset Perch Island and told your friends to pass on a message on my behalf. ‘Cultivate properly and get stronger.’”
He sighed. “But seeing you in such a wretched state really makes my heart ache.”
“…” Su Yi had nothing to say to that. He couldn’t hear any pity in Xiao Jian’s voice. All he heard was mockery!
“When you were in the Undying Realm, how did you compare to the current me?” Su Yi asked calmly.
“I was far inferior,” Xiao Jian said casually, “But so what? With your current strength, is there even anyone here you can beat?”
“All of them will die,” said Su Yi. “If you interfere, you’ll die too.”
Xiao Jian froze, stunned, then burst into uncontrollable laughter. “I said it back then: I admire your pride, unfettered spirit!”
With that, he turned to look at the Malevolent Sword Venerate. “I’ll give you an opportunity. Why not join forces with me to get rid of these eyesores? The three of us can resolve our business afterward. How about it?”
