Chapter 2281 - Revealed
Chapter 2281 – Revealed
The firmament was in chaos, and the skies collapsed.
The Skywalking Monk, Mo Ye, was badly wounded. His robes were covered in blood.
This scene left everyone stunned.
A Mid-Rank God was displaying strength sufficient to firmly suppress a Five-Tribulation Master God. Even more terrifyingly, he’d been fighting barehanded this entire time!
Despite himself, a hint of shock and bewilderment appeared on Mo Ye’s steely face. He seemed to have guessed something. “Don’t tell me you’re…”
But before he could finish his sentence, the sword qi filling the sky rumbled, boomed, and interrupted him.
Su Yi didn’t let up in the slightest. He immediately attacked once more.
He’d struggle to defeat a Six-Tribulation Master God even if he went all out, leaving him no choice but to use an external object like the Sword of the Nine Hells.
But against a Five-Tribulation Master God, his own strength was plenty!
Kcch!
A slash rose into the air, like a beam of light.
It was fast! So fast that it pierced time and space, reaching its target instantaneously. By the time Mo Ye noticed it, it was too late to dodge. All he could do was block.
Clang!!
The Blade of Heaven’s Loathing shook violently.
Although Mo Ye just barely managed to block this strike, sword qi swept over him, almost cleaving through his shoulder. He kept his arm, but was left with a gash so deep that even his bones were visible.
Mo Ye was shocked and furious, but Su Yi had no intention of giving him any chance to catch his breath. He attacked like a pelting rain, sending streaks of unstoppable sword qi with a raise of his hand.
Mo Ye could barely defend himself. He was repeatedly forced back!
The whole crowd was astonished. All of them were dazed.
Su Yi was just too tyrannical and too forceful. Although he fought barehanded, he seemed unstoppable. None of them could even imagine how a Mid-Rank God could be so powerful.
Mo Ye, meanwhile, fought with everything he had, putting his life on the line, only for Su Yi to neutralize every last attack!
Within just a few snaps of the fingers, he was left riddled with wounds, his monk’s robes stained completely red.
It was obvious to everyone that if Mo Ye couldn’t turn this around, he was sure to lose!
But turning this around wouldn’t be so easy. After all, Mo Ye was already drawing on the power of the temple’s defensive formation, but he still couldn’t seize the advantage!
Unless…
The temple’s other Master Gods joined the battle!
In truth, Abbot Fa Zhen and the others were already raring to go. All of them looked ashen and murderous.
Fa Heng was dead. Hui Jin was dead, too. How could they possibly just watch as Mo Ye met with the same fate?
If that happened, Cloudy Heights Temple might well fall!
But just as Abbot Fa Zhen was about to issue orders, a desperate shout rang out. Mo Ye was calling out a warning. “Sect Leader, hurry up and run! That boy…!”
He was in dire peril and visibly frantic. His voice was full of unspeakable panic.
But his warning came to an abrupt halt mid-sentence as Su Yi attacked. He didn’t hesitate to use his Grand Dao Divine Ability, Dawn Blossoms Plucked at Dusk.
It was like the first parting of the primordial chaos, demarcating heaven and earth and separating purity and filth.
This slash was even more terrifying than before, to a simply unbelievable degree.
When it swept past, everything seemed to fade away. Terrifying sword force swept outward, and startling spacetime cracks appeared throughout the surrounding thirty thousand miles of sky.
The defensive formation covering Frigid Pool Mountain rumbled and boomed, its surface left riddled with holes. It was on the verge of collapse.
Over on the mountain, both the monks of Cloudy Heights Temple and the spectators felt their scalps go numb with fright. Their souls practically left their bodies from sheer panic.
Dust and smoke permeated the air, but Mo Ye just stood there like a clay statue.
Fury and despair spread across his steely features. His lips parted, and with great difficulty, he finished his sentence.
“The boy is Su Yi!”
They were his last words.
His voice wasn’t loud. On the contrary, it was rather feeble. Before it had even finished rumbling through the air, a gash appeared on Mo Ye’s neck.
Moments later, his head toppled from his shoulders.
This bloody scene made the onlookers’ minds go blank. One slash, and Mo Ye, a Five-Tribulation Master God, had been decapitated!
Both his head and his headless corpse burst into flames in mid-air, then crumbled into ash.
Yet another Master God was dead!
Who wouldn’t have been shocked? And who wouldn’t have been terrified?
Clang!
The Blade of Heaven’s Loathing fell with a grief-stricken wail.
Su Yi stretched out his hand and plucked it from midair.
“You didn’t even last a full nine snaps of the fingers. It seems I overestimated you,” said Su Yi. He drew his finger along the flat of the Blade of Heaven’s Loathing and shook his head.
Silence descended over heaven and earth.
Su Yi stood alone amidst the withered skies, solitary and proud.
The onlookers standing in the mountain’s ritual grounds were as still as clay statues.
Su Yi’s duel with Mo Ye was over. He really had decapitated his opponent in less than nine snaps of the fingers.
It was over in almost no time flat, yet everyone felt as if they’d just had a nightmare.
Especially in light of Mo Ye’s last words.
Su Yi!
Abbot Fa Zhen had mentioned the name not long ago, as he suspected that this troublemaker might well be Su Yi. However, Mo Ye had staunchly rejected the idea.
But that only made Mo Ye’s last words all the more ridiculous, because… His opponent was indeed Su Yi!
Perhaps this was what they meant when they said that nothing in life was certain.
“Su Yi…” Abbot Fa Zhen and the others’ faces were ashen. They finally understood. No wonder he dared come here on his own.
No wonder he managed to ruin our plans in the Immortal Realm and render our pawn, Ning Xiu, useless.
And no wonder he declared that he could single-handedly flatten Cloudy Heights Temple.
All of this is because he’s really Su Yi! The reincarnation of Yi Daoxuan and Li Fuyou. The one who forced even Di E and his allies to retreat in disgrace at the Battle of Skybright Mountain.
The ‘Sword God Su’ everyone is talking about!
“Su Yi! So, it really is him…” The guests finally understood, and they finally had answers to their questions.
If there was anyone who could kill a Master God while still a Mid-Rank God, it had to be Su Yi. Only he could pull something like that off! Had anyone else achieved this, no one could have believed it.
“Su Yi….” Zhong Xinlan looked dazed.
Ye Mu, the stranger with deep ties to her family, had suddenly become the world-famous legend, Su Yi. Zhong Xinlan couldn’t help but feel as if she were dreaming.
“He’s really Sword God Su!?” Bao Yun was dazed.
She admired Sword God Su above all others. She would never, ever, ever have guessed that the stranger she’d looked down on and been so suspicious of was really the man she admired most.
For a moment, she wasn’t sure whether to be happy or sad. It seemed that nothing in this world could be more unreasonable than this.
No one could remain calm after learning Su Yi’s identity. Waves of shock coursed through their hearts.
Meanwhile, Su Yi raised the Blade of Heaven’s Loathing and looked at Fa Zhen and the other Cloudy Heights Temple experts. “How about all of you attack at once?”
His words were light and airy, yet everyone sensed a bone-piercing chill.
Abbot Fa Zhen bellowed, “I’ll hold him back. All of you, flee! Seek refuge in the Western Paradise Spirit Mountains!”
Then, before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, he shot into the dome of heaven and drew a glittering golden monk’s staff, which he swung at Su Yi.
Practically simultaneously, the other Cloudy Heights Temple Master Gods turned and fled.
“Retreat! Hurry up and retreat!”
“Every member of Cloudy Heights Temple is to flee immediately. Hurry!”
…Shouts resounded like thunderclaps, echoing throughout heaven and earth.
Clang!!
Su Yi swung the Blade of Heaven’s Loathing and effortlessly forced Fa Zhen back. He shook his head. “I said it, didn’t I? No one in Cloudy Heights Temple can leave!”
Before his voice had even finished echoing through the air, something strange happened in the distance——
A Two-Tribulation Master God was trying to fly when a gaping maw appeared and swallowed him whole.
“No——!” The Master God cried out in shock and fury and struggled with all his might, but compared to that gaping maw, he was just too weak, like a helpless lamb tossed into an endless abyss. In the blink of an eye, he was gone.
“This is bad!” A Master God fleeing in another direction was shocked to discover a jade-like, beautiful face floating before him.
That’s right. She was just a face, with no cranium, much less a body.
When that Cloudy Heights Temple Master God saw her, he reacted as if struck by lightning. He stood there in a daze as darkness enveloped him.
In the blink of an eye, he’d vanished.
That beautiful face, meanwhile, sighed in apparent satisfaction.
Kaboom!
Suddenly, a massive explosion rang out, and a giant, skeletal hand rose, like a mountain erupting from the bowels of the earth, and seized a Master God.
It crushed him to death!
All of these bloody scenes unfolded simultaneously. The fleeing Master Gods could barely even struggle before they were annihilated.
“This…”
“How terrifying!”
“What are those?”
“They look like divine wraiths!!”
Startled cries and high-pitched shrieks rang out without end.
The onlookers’ faces were pallid with terror and unease. They finally understood what Su Yi had said before the battle began. Anyone who fled would die!
They were also finally convinced that Su Yi wasn’t simply being an alarmist; he really had brought helpers.
It was just that his helpers were utterly strange and malevolent, and no one knew where they’d come from.
Kaboom!
The entire area was plunged into turmoil.
The ancient divine wraiths appeared like ghosts, sealing the temple’s escape routes off on all sides. Those who tried to escape were killed on the spot.
Desperate cries rang out, one after another, and blood fell like rain. The temple had seemed like an otherworldly pure land just moments prior, but now, it was hell on earth!
Fresh blood spread like ink, staining the sky red.
“How is this possible…?” Fa Zhen stood beneath the dome of heaven, grief-stricken and on the brink of despair.
The abbot had obviously completely broken down.
“Why shouldn’t this be possible?” Su Yi said calmly. “At Skybright Mountain, I said that anyone who crossed my bottom line would have to bear the consequences!
“You obviously didn’t take my warning to heart. When calamities rain from the heavens, they can be avoided, but this disaster, you brought on yourself.”
Su Yi took out a jug of wine and had a sip. “Henceforth, Cloudy Heights Temple shall cease to exist. These are the consequences of your actions!”
