First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2126 - Unexpected Interference

Chapter 2126 – Unexpected Interference

The Ancient God Domain.

The Seven Great Celestial Venerates: Brilliant Universe, Purple Lightning, Burning Wind, Fiery Abyss, Jade Crane, Tyrant Cloud, and Profound Frost all gazed into the dome of heaven.

The skies were originally bright and clear, but now, they were enveloped in dazzling tribulation light, like a boundless river coursing through the firmament.

Astonishment silently arose on the Celestial Venerates’ faces.

“It seems that Su Yi, the one who controls the Epoch Spark, is about to prove his Dao and achieve divinity!”

“Strange. Why isn’t the Lingyu Dao Monarch stopping him?”

“Let’s watch and wait a while longer. I predict that when the curtains fall on this grand tribulation, the struggle in the trial grounds will quickly reach a conclusion, too!”

Meanwhile, Luo Xuanji’s beautiful eyes gazed into the dome of heaven. Her red dress swayed around her, and her expression was full of undisguisable astonishment. What a terrifying tribulation! Does this mean that Fellow Daoist Su seized the opportunity he needed during his trials and that he’s about to become a god?

The thought filled her heart with anticipation.

……

Meanwhile, in the Abyssal Ruin at the far end of the Path of the Ancient Gods.

Brilliant, stinging light suddenly surged amidst the seemingly eternal darkness of the fog-shrouded skies of the abyss. The colorful lights were dazzling to behold.

The entire Abyssal Ruin instantly lit up, revealing one destroyed epoch civilization after another, like lost worlds strewn throughout the ruins.

“Tribulation light actually cast away the darkness of the Abyssal Ruin?” A hearty voice cried out in alarm.

Deep within the Abyssal Ruin, one terrifying presence after another gazed into the dome of heaven.

“Your Eminence, if I’m not mistaken, that’s got to be Su Yi’s Divine Tribulation!”

Suddenly, an enormous skeletal throne appeared reflected within the ruins of a lost Epoch Civilization. A seemingly delicate youth was seated upon it.

His clothing was whiter than snow, and he wore a crown on his head. His eyes shone like twin suns, as if he could see through all the secrets of the nine heavens and the ten earths.

Had Su Yi been here, he’d have recognized him at a glance. This was the Dark Skeletal God Emperor!

They’d met for the first time immediately after Su Yi entered the Path of the Ancient Gods. Now, here he was in the Abyssal Ruin!

A worn-out bronze coffin hovered over the Abyssal Ruin. Su Yi’s third incarnation sat in a chair in front of it.

He nodded. “You’re right.”

“Your Eminence, surely you don’t just plan to sit back and watch as Su Yi becomes a god?” The Dark Skeletal God Emperor furrowed his brow, his youthful face tinged with fury.

Immediately afterward, a cold voice rang out. “Your Eminence, given your abilities, it wouldn’t be difficult to break the natural order of the Nine Great Celestial Trials, so why haven’t you intervened?”

A tripod cauldron spouting chaos qi took to the skies, grinding away time and space. It had an eternal, undying charm about it.

A woman sat cross-legged atop the cauldron, her entire body shrouded in mist. Her features were indistinct.

The Glazed Illusion Hell Queen!

She’d appeared before Su Yi after he first entered the Path of the Ancient Gods, just like the Dark Skeletal God Emperor.

“In a clash of the Grand Dao, you naturally have to take the rules into account.” Su Yi’s third incarnation sat there, gazing at the brilliant tribulation light shining beneath the dome of heaven.

The tribulation light had an air of the taboo about it. It illuminated the entire Abyssal Ruin, casting away the ancient darkness!

“Rules?” A hoarse, raspy voice rang out. “Your Eminence, why concern yourself with the rules at a time like this? Especially against a pipsqueak like him?”

A Daoist with a Dao Sword strapped across his back appeared deep within the Abyssal Ruins. His robes were the color of fire, and he had a dragon’s head.

The Dragon-Headed Daoist!

“That’s right! So long as we capture him, he can do as we please with his power of reincarnation. With it, we’ll be able to break free of the Path of the Ancient Gods. How could we possibly let such an opportunity slip through our fingers?” said the Dark Skeletal God Emperor. He was obviously still angry.

The Glazed Illusion Hell Queen couldn’t help but push. “Your Eminence, what… exactly are you hesitating for?”

The young man who’d mastered reincarnation was on the verge of becoming a god. His Divine Tribulation was so taboo that its effects were felt throughout the Path of the Ancient Gods.

It had even dispersed the endless darkness of the Abyssal Ruin. This was absolutely unprecedented!

Thus, it gave the Dark Skeletal God Emperor, the Glazed Illusion Hell Queen, the Dragon-Headed Daoist, and the other terrifying existences consigned to the darkness a strong sense of urgency.

Su Yi’s third incarnation sat there languidly and said softly, “This is my business. Why should I explain myself to you?”

It was just two light, airy sentences, but the terrifying existences all looked stricken. All of them fell silent.

Su Yi’s third incarnation shook his head. “I told you that I’m in an unbeatable position, and I told you that I’d lead you away from the Path of the Ancient Gods. Why didn’t you listen?”

“Your Eminence, are you saying that it doesn’t matter if we fail to stop Su Yi here?” the Glazed Illusion Hell Queen couldn’t help but ask.

Su Yi’s third incarnation turned his head and glanced at her.

It was just a look, but the Glazed Illusion Hell Queen’s heart shook. She instinctively averted her gaze, not daring to look him in the eye.

“He and I are ultimately the same person, so I’ll naturally resolve my enmity with him on my own,” said Su Yi’s third incarnation. He retracted his gaze and said calmly, “I’m not panicked about this, so why should you panic?”

The atmosphere was tense and stifled.

The terrifying existences consigned to the darkness fell silent.

Boom!

The grand tribulation had been brewing overhead for quite some time. Now, it was finally about to descend!

……

Meanwhile, in the sea of chaos clouds atop the sixth divine tower, resplendent tribulation light came crashing down. It manifested chains of the natural order that effortlessly cleaved through the barriers of time and space, shattering the layers of chaos clouds.

Su Yi’s third incarnation—or rather, the version of him the towers had manifested from the Laws—had been prepared for this.

Even so, when that tribulation light really cleaved through the clouds, he was immediately blasted into a rain of light. He offered no more resistance than paper window paneling.

In truth, his clash with Su Yi had left him riddled with wounds. He was still standing, but his condition was only marginally better than Su Yi’s.

Thus, when Su Yi’s terrifying tribulation erupted, his third incarnation’s avatar broke instantly.

In the moment before he was destroyed, he watched as the tribulation light blasted Su Yi, who was still sprawled across the ground, into tiny pieces.

He really just gave up and lay flat, didn’t he…? It’s a pity that I never got to see him overcome this tribulation…

This thought had only just occurred to him when he vanished completely.

He disappeared too soon to watch as Su Yi’s obliterated body, soul, essence, qi, spirit, and powers of the Grand Dao were silently enveloped by the inscrutable power of reincarnation just as they were about to be wiped from existence.

The Sword of the Nine Hells floated forth, then silently hovered there, emanating a mysterious rain of light that enveloped Su Yi completely.

Had anyone else been there to see this, they’d have expected that Su Yi had already died a brutal death!

But strangely, the tribulation light just kept crashing down. Every streak of light brimmed with a terrifying aura and manifested all manner of unbelievable visions.

Sometimes, it manifested gods waging war beneath skies splattered with divine blood.

Other times, it manifested apocalyptic visions of collapsing epochs and far-reaching destruction

Other times, it manifested the spear of judgement, which emanated world-annihilating tribulation light as it attacked in a rage.

Other times, it manifested mysterious chains swathed in turbulent gales that enveloped both time and space.

…All of these scenes represented an unbelievable and terrifying calamitous power, and all of them relentlessly assailed Su Yi’s already obliterated body and soul. It seemed they were intent on grinding him into powder and destroying him completely.

But his obliterated body and soul were enveloped in the power of reincarnation, and despite this onslaught, they continuously recondensed. Shockingly, they were even absorbing the tribulation light!

Within just a few blinks of an eye, Su Yi’s body and soul were like an expanding bundle of chaos, and they devoured the tribulation light at ever greater speeds!

It was utterly unbelievable. No one who saw it could have understood it, nor could anyone have imagined how Su Yi was doing this.

From beginning to end, the Sword of the Nine Hells hovered there in silence, never once lending its aid!

Time slipped by. The grand tribulation only grew all the more terrifying.

Terrifying natural disasters befell the City of the Beginning, the Deification Star Sea, the Ancient God Domain, and the Abyssal Ruin at the far end of the Path of the Ancient Gods

That terrifying, calamitous aura made every living thing in the Path of the Ancient Gods shake.

That included Master Gods like the Seven Great Celestial Venerates, the Primordial Ancestral Gods still trapped in the darkness of the Abyssal Ruin, and those terrifying existences who’d already awakened. Even they were stunned!

Even Su Yi’s third incarnation couldn’t help but be rueful as he watched this play out. This tribulation really was unique and unprecedented throughout the ages. It was causing an even bigger commotion than someone breaking into the Undying Realm to become a Master God!

“Hm?” Suddenly, Su Yi’s third incarnation seemed to notice something. His brow furrowed, and he rose to his feet.

A moment later, he vanished into thin air.

His voice, meanwhile, echoed throughout the Abyssal Ruin.

“If any of you dare act without permission in my absence, I’ll imprison you here for all eternity, never to escape!”

All of the terrifying existences trapped in the ruins were startled. At the same time, they realized that something unexpected had happened during Su Yi’s Divine Tribulation. His Eminence wouldn’t have broken precedent to leave in person otherwise. After all, he’d been watching over this place for countless years!

Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Lasting Light.

A lascivious-looking, short old man was crouched on a street corner. He looked like he was resting, but on closer inspection, his eyes darted about as he snuck glances at the passing beauties’ chests and buttocks.

From time to time, he wiped his drool with his sleeves. He couldn’t have looked any more perverted.

This was the River Lord.

But before long, he suddenly sensed something, and he shot to his feet. His lustful gaze suddenly shifted, and his eyes shone with imposing light as stared into the firmament.

Nothing at all was happening there, but the River Lord could see something that others in the River of Epochs couldn’t: a coursing current of resplendent tribulation light blanketing the Path of the Ancient Gods!

This was Su Yi’s Divine Tribulation!

But then, numerous grand and mysterious figures floated into view deep within the tribulation clouds.

“Fuck! It’s just as I thought. Those shameless bastards really are seizing this opportunity to attack!”

The River Lord launched into a series of curses, then vanished into thin air.
