Chapter 184 Ambitious Dragon
“How difficult do you think it will be for me to be recognized as the king of vampires?”
When the girls heard his question, both of them blinked several times to allow his words to settle in.
“Husband… what brought this thought about?” Audrina asked as she sat onto his lap.
‘Damnit! I should have claimed that spot first!’ Seras was cursing her earlier lack of action and vowed not to repeat the same mistake a second time.
“You already know the answer to that, my dear.” Abaddon reminded her.
He gently stroked the hair of both his daughter and his wife as he waited for an answer to the question that could decide his future.
“It would be… difficult.” Audrina finally admitted.
“There has never been a ruler that was not from the sanguine family line, much less one who was of an entirely different species. I don’t know that those nobles would accept it.” Seras informed.
“Even though you are my husband, the chances of the nobles coming together to kill you are rather high.” Audrina admitted.
Seras flinched at the mention of the noble faction of vampires, a sight that did not escape Abaddon’s eyes.
“I’m not afraid of any would be assassins. Any who come for my life will be devoured all the same, even if they are these nobles you speak of.” Abaddon replied coldly.
While most rulers would have winced slightly at the mention of someone wiping out a very influential part of their kingdom, Audrina didn’t actually care that much.
The noble faction of vampires were the ten wealthiest and strongest families that helped to manage the entire kingdom.
Or atleast, that was their official job description.
In truth, the nobles didn’t actually do all that much. All of the rules and restrictions that had already been in place for centuries were followed without issue and crime was surprisingly low.
Audrina was the one who handled the kingdom’s finances, foreign relations, and other important matters.
If any of them died, the biggest inconvenience for her would be having to attend their funerals.
“Why do you need to become vampire king?” Seras suddenly asked.
Abaddon smiled sweetly at her. “If I told you, would you be able to keep it a secret?”ππ±xt.πΈπ¦
Seras opened and closed her mouth several times before ultimately lowering her head in defeat.
Even though her heart was with Abaddon and Helios had already accepted their relationship, she was still loyal to Antares and it’s ruler.
If Helios ever asked her for information on Abaddon’s motives or plans, she would have no choice but to tell him.
Should she lie in an attempt to protect him, the chances of the dragon king finding out and killing them both were incredibly high.
“I… suppose you should not tell me.” Seras replied shyly.
“There is nothing for you to feel bad about, Seras.” Audrina comforted.
“That’s right, I would never want to put you in any sort of uncomfortable position” Abaddon confirmed.
Seras flashed a small shy smile and did not comment further.
It was strange for one as powerful as herself to be looked after by one she used to train. However, she did not dislike this feeling.
She would add this to the list of things she was learning about herself through spending time with Abaddon.
“Whether it is difficult or not, whether my life will be threatened or not, it makes no difference. I will do what I must.”
The dragon gently turned Audrina’s chin so that the two were looking eye to eye. “Will you trust me to lead your people?”
“What a silly dragon you are, my husband. I’m sure that you will lead them towards heights that I could not even fathom.”
She brought her lips closer for a tender kiss that contained all of her trust and hope held within.
“Kissing another woman on our date… Men truly are pigs.” Seras said in disgust.
The couple broke their kiss and Abaddon laughed softly. “That was rude of me, Seras.”
“Are you jealous, little wing?” Audrina said cheekily.
“I’m much too old for that name!”
Abaddon raised a brow in surprise. “Have the two of you… met before?”
“Fufufu~ Maybe?”
“No!”
Abaddon sighed and decided not to press the matter further. He knew they would tell him when the time came but he would not lie and say he wasn’t curious.
“How long will it take us to travel to Upyr?”
“Hmm… A week if we fly, a week and three days if we sail.” Audrina guessed. “But we can use the extra time in some… very fun activities~”
Ten whole days of sex? Audrina would convince her husband to sail even if it meant she had to spend the rest of the night on her knees!
‘Come to think of it, that idea sounds delicious as well…’
Abaddon could tell what Audrina was thinking, and she knew she was going to make it her mission to get him on that boat and into a cabin.
“I guess we’re sailing then.” Abaddon decided before turning to Seras. “Do you need to go home and pack?”
“Eh? I’m flattered by the invitation but I can’t go with you. You know I have-“
“I’ll take care of it.” Abaddon said with a smile.
–
Helios was sitting absentmindedly on his throne, discussing certain matters with his oldest friend and right hand.
Hajun was Mira’s first master and the man Helios had placed in charge of grooming his daughter’s soldiers.
“She’s been gone for what feels like an eternity… How long is that useless husband of hers going to lie in bed asleep!?”
The old dragon chuckled lightly. “You should relax, Helios. Yara has long reached adulthood and it’s high time you accepted that.”
As Helios’ only friend, Hajun alone was capable of speaking to the golden dragon so informally.
“You don’t understand my plight!”
“I understand very well, old friend. You act as if I do not have children of my own.”
Helios merely rolled his eyes.
“Your children are not-“
Whoosh!
A starry black portal suddenly opened up in the middle of the throne room.
Hajun was immediately on his guard, however Helios merely waived a hand to calm him down.
In a moment, a small paper airplane soon came flying through the portal before immediately closing.
Helios plucked it out of the air and glanced at it briefly.
Realizing there were words written on the paper, he unfolded it and began to read the strange message.
Abaddon’s message was rather simple.
And yet, Helios could not decide if he was impressed by his boldness or annoyed that he was treating his words from before as mere thin air.
‘That brat, he’s still acting as if I am his grandfather and he can address me however he wants!’ Helios growled inwardly.
“Well? What was in the letter?” Hajun asked anxiously.
In a rare display of emotion, Helios suddenly showed a huge toothy smile.
“Isn’t this a coincidence? Seems like your eldest daughter has also fallen into the clutches of a demon lord.”
“…WHAT!?!”
–
“It’s handled.” Abaddon said as he leaned back into the tree.
“…”
“…”
Suddenly becoming aware of the quiet, Abaddon looked up to see both Seras and Audrina giving him strange looks.
“What?”
“You… sent the dragon king… a note..”
“I did.”
“My love… don’t you think Helios intended for the two of you to have less of a personal relationship now that you are a ruler of your own land?”
“Maybe.”
For some reason, Abaddon believed that his grandfather did not truly care about formality, at least when he was involved.
Eventually, the girls decided that they should just move on for the sake of their sanity.
“Well… I suppose I do need to pack a few things.” Seras finally said.
Abaddon nodded before opening up another portal to her bedroom. “I’m not sure how long we’ll be gone so you should pack appropriately.”
Just as Seras was about to head through the portal, a sudden voice gave her pause.
“My, my, what kind of husband leaves his new wife behind a mere week after being married?”
Eris had silently approached the group, showing Abaddon a smile that was not a smile.
After having sex with Abaddon, she too received his essence and as a result became connected to him.
With that new connection, Eris became better able to speak with the qlipoth over longer distances and found it easier to hear it’s voice.
When the tree told Eris that her husband was planning on taking another trip with some strange woman, the dark elf immediately came running.
“Of course not, my love. I had no intention of leaving you behind.” Abaddon said honestly.
It was unfortunate but he knew that a few of his wives would be unable to make the trip with him.
Valerie was too busy with construction, Lisa was working on public relations, Bekka was assisting in training the army and Lailah had finally begun to inherit her mother’s knowledge.
‘I wish the entire family could go but it doesn’t seem like it will be possible this time around… Although I wonder if the children would like to go?’
Eris briefly glanced at the new woman hovering around her husband.
As the union between two of the most beautiful races to exist, Seras was unfairly beautiful.
She had gorgeous and long silver hair paired with a body that was absolutely to die for.
Because Eris was his newest wife, naturally she began to feel a bit threatened.
‘Does he prefer muscular women after all? S-Should I work out more??’
“Don’t think nonsense. You are perfect the way you are.”
“Eep!”
Eris was so deep in her thoughts, she did not even realize that Abaddon had moved to stand right beside her.
Before she could run, Abaddon quickly pulled her into his embrace.
“I love all of you for different reasons, and each of you are apart of me. Your place in my life, in our family, is unshakeable.” He comforted.
In either of his lives, Abaddon had only ever loved seven women.
To him they were all unique with nothing in common aside from the love they all held for him and their family.
And that was exactly the way he preferred it.
Each of his wives could help him with different tasks, and help him to accept new ideals.
He could not imagine a world more dull than one where all of his women were carbon copies of one another.
Eris relaxed in his embrace and released all of her deeply held insecurities.
“Thank you for saying so…” Eris said with a smile.
As the two enjoyed each other’s warmth, Seras emerged from the portal once again.
“Alright, when do we leave?”
