First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 1283: Forgiving Mother.

Chapter 1283: Forgiving Mother.

Out of everyone here, Wukong wanted Dragon King to face Zahara the very least.

It was a battle the old loong could never hope to win. Similar to how a small child could never hope to best their able-bodied parent.

Naturally, he had tried to do everything to avoid it. The Monkey King purposely kept a number of his bodies between the two of them so that they wouldn’t clash.

He never thought that the dumb old loong would purposefully rush at the dragon mother.

’…Well, actually…’

Maybe it was pretty in line with his temper after all.

Stupidity aside, Wukong had known his own efforts were likely useless. Now that Zahara had actually laid eyes on the Dragon King, she was never going to let him go.

Wukong did not envy the death he was bound to experience. However talented Zahara was at giving life, she was just as exceptional at taking it away as her husband.

Perhaps she would be merciful… but the monkey wasn’t that optimistic.

“DIEEEE!!!”

The Dragon King unhinged his jaw and fired forth a devastating blast of thunder and wind, loud enough to be heard from hundreds of miles away.

As the bright light flashed through the sky, even Wukong had to shield his eyes from the dangerous shine before him.

He covered his ears, expecting the sound of the blast connecting to turn his monkey brains to mush.

But after a while, he began to think that perhaps he had covered them too well. Nothing was getting through those old hands of his.

Cracking open one eye, Wukong surveyed the cloudy battlefield with a measure of scepticism that slowly turned into absurdity.

Zahara wasn’t necessarily doing anything dramatic or awe-inspiring. Rather, she was only holding up a single finger.

At the very tip of that finger, she completely absorbed the attack that was meant to harm her. A very small fleck of gold began to form on her claw.

It grew bigger and bigger with every passing second, thriving in direct correlation with the absorbed breath of the ancient loong.

The other members of the Celestial Court could see what was happening and the negative tidings that it had for one of their most powerful. They began to panic.

“What are you doing, you old fool! Stop it! She’s charging something!”

“Brother, get away!”

Wukong alone knew the very reason why Dragon King did not stop his attack.

He was incapable.

His body was no longer his to control, and there was no greater proof of that needed than the terror that shone in his lake-sized eyes.

Dragon King was no longer attacking. He was being drained.

It took a while for the others to finally notice, but the ancient loong was losing more and more of his vitality with every second. The effect was visible.

His scales slowly began to lose their luster. The white hair that made up his whiskers and mane started to fall out in clumps.

But what was perhaps the most telling thing of all was the fact that the dragon was progressively getting smaller.

“Aid our comrade!”

Immortals rushed Zahara by the boatloads. All of them approached her with reckless abandon, determined to step in before it was too late.

They knew they could not best her. But in their eyes, it hardly mattered.

Dying for a worthy cause, such as saving a respectable elder, was more of an honorable end than any of them ever could have prayed for.

Their hearts were all in the right places. Even Wukong was moved by their devotion.

But at the same time, the fools should have thought harder about their plan of attack.

If the horrors weren’t rushing to defend her… That could only mean they didn’t feel the need.

And Wukong, who knew the three Dark Dragons well, knew exactly why they did not fear her being touched.

“Foolish humans… Her child is Infinity.”

The warriors of the Celestial Court never understood what was happening.

As soon as they came within forty feet of Zahara, their bodies simply stopped in midair.

They could feel themselves moving, but they were not closing the distance between themselves and her.

Space itself had bent to her will. It was staggering to see.

There are many in the heavens who control powers that defy physics and warp reality. Most can only do so with great concentration or personal cost.

Zahara’s complete lackadaisical attitude was almost as insulting as the fact that she had come to kill them in nothing but a sports bra and sweatpants.

“Please…”

Zahara returned her attention to the once proud Dragon King.

His body had lost it’s youth and power. In his humanoid form, he seemed to resemble a bag of bones much more than he did a major deity.

Acceptance had replaced the fear in his eyes. Even parting his lips to speak seemed to take away the very last of his strength.

His voice came out as a dry whisper.

“I know, it is not my place…But please..spare them… Your wrath…this is… my…only… wish…”

“…”

Wukong almost laughed as he saw Zahar’s brow knit itself into a frown. He could practically see the steam rushing out of her ears as her brain operated at it’s absolute highest output.

“You old lizards.. As easy to read as the back of my hand..!” He cackled.

“Shut up, Wu-Wu, I’m thinking!” Zahara snapped.

In midair, Belloc sighed as he picked Celestial Immortal out of his teeth.

He couldn’t understand why his parents acted so dense about God’s love and willingness to forgive humanity. They were exactly the same about dragon kind.

Abaddon had a mental connection to every dragon, large or small, sentient or animalistic, that was inside of Yesh. It was a connection he shared with his brides.

In the same way that a parent might forgive a child after they had just acted rudely in a grocery store, Zahara wasn’t exactly above forgiving blaspheming dragons. (Provided they were genuinely remorseful.)

However, she did hate having to take back her vows in front of a few million people. Hence her current dilemma.

“…Fucking, fuck on a fuck!”

“Have you all just forgotten how to curse today or what…?” Belloc landed beside his mother.

“Hush, boy.”

Zahara dropped everyone in the range of her power. Including the dragon king.

He landed on the cloud in front of her with a low groan.

“Eyes up.”

Slowly, Dragon King lifted his head. By the time his neck was fully strained upward, his body was no longer old and decrepit. Though that isn’t to say he had all of his power returned either.

Zahara held up something that looked like a golden marble broken in half.

“You’ll need to ask him if you can have this back. If you are sincere, I do not believe he will disappoint you with his verdict.”

Zahara turned her gaze from her descendant to the rest of the Celestial army. She passed her weapon to her son as she inserted her hands back into her pockets.

With a simple thought from her, all of her horrors stopped their feasting.

“Long Wang has requested that I spare your lives. Are you going to place your weapons down so that I can fulfill his desires?”

The fighting spirit of the Celestial Court was far from quenched. With Wukong still on their side and actively multiplying, they firmly believed they still had a chance at victory.

Zahara slipped one of her hands out of her pockets. “Now, before you answer…”

She pointed up at the sky, beyond even the highest celestial.

There, staring back at them was a great red chasm. Surrounded by a lake of the most devastating fire.

…At least, that was their initial belief.

It took the wisest among them to realize they were staring at a pupil so large they couldn’t even make out the rest of the eye. And the ’fire’ that surrounded it was nothing more than the red sclera they would see before they died.

“You had all better be damn sure of your answer. There will be no third chances. On this, I stake my very soul.”

I rarely beg you guys but please read this message even if it’s long!

Okay, okay, okay. I know I’ve been a little wobbly on update frequency. That’s my bad. I have had a lot going on in my professional and personal life so really I just haven’t had the time. But I am sorry. Genuinely.

Hey, beyond this is something of a spoiler like kinda sorta but not really? So if you don’t like that just a fair warning.

That said…. I guess you could say the end of fdd is fast approaching. And since yesterday while I was thinking of how to wrap everything up, I thought about how much of a shame it was. I just felt like I was still leaving so much meat on the bone and if I could do things over again I would tell a much better story.

And then it kinda hit me that I still can.

So… Book two is in the planning stage. I say book two but it’s more like part two because you’ll still be able to find everything under the first demonic dragon page so think of it like how some other authors break their novel Chapters into arcs (fancy right, I know, I should be doing that.) you’ll just scroll up and be able to find book two there.

I guess this is my way of creating a story that potentially will attract dropped readers and new ones. Since they won’t need to have read any of Book 1 to understand book 2.

You might be wondering why I don’t just go and create a whole new separate book again and the answer is… cutting through some of the fat to get noticed on NovelFire is a lot harder now than it was like four years ago when I started. I don’t want to have to build from the ground up again if I don’t have to.

But basically the idea is that the end of the main story will be the beginning of a new one. And I will be able to tell a great story that every single one of you deserves. I want to get my quality up, get my lore concise and make the world building memorable. Most of all I just want to use this to show people who didn’t stick around how far I’ve grown.

It won’t be a full tie in thing, more like Easter eggs every now and again, and some very noticeable changes to the characters, but don’t worry they will still be insane and loud and won’t lose personality, the story will still be focused on love, family, children, ruling, sensuality, and most importantly- DRAGONSSS.

Pretty much, the whole idea is that if new readers read the early Chapters of book one and they’re like “Wow I hate this” (which, to be honest, entirely justified. ) I can put like a note in the synopsis explaining that book two is separate, better, and slightly different, and hopefully urge them to give that a chance.

I don’t wanna give away too much just in case somebody is worried about spoilers so if you want more info please message me in the discord.

But I want- no, I need to hear from you guys since you are my most loyal. Tell me what you want to see. Tell me what you don’t want to see.

Tell me any concerns you may have about continuity and all of that and I will do my very best to assuage you of any worries you may have.

But please… if you’ve just been lurking this far and you’ve never said a single comment, let this be the time you say something. Maybe this is crazy and it won’t work but I really think I can do something big here… I just need to know if you guys think it would yield fruit.

Any feedback is good feedback. Right now I’m just a nervous amateur author trying to make a dream come true, you know? And I need your help to figure out the best way for me to do that.

Thank you for your time. Goodnight, y’all.
