Chapter 1125 - Capítulo 1125: The Last of Them
Capítulo 1125: The Last of Them
– Prime Timeline
Tehom was never a very nice place in its early days. But back then, it was a smoldering ruin.
Yesh and Asherah did try to be as diplomatic as possible when they first arrived, but the denizens of the dark did not respond well to their sudden arrival.
They had not killed anyone, but some had to be forcefully incapacitated.
Afterwards, Yesh and Asherah had stripped away their dark powers and condemned them to a more mundane existence.
“We should seal them in down here while we have the chance.” Asherah offered.
Yesh looked unrecognizable compared to how he did presently. He was a brighter, healthier soul brimming with vitality.
His skin was a radiant bronze and his hair glowed white, floating above his head.
He even had a hint of muscular definition. If Abaddon ever laid eyes on this version again, he would likely never stop laughing.
Yesh’s eyes were also twin colored. One was a normal glowing white, the other a swirling rainbow.
Through one eye he viewed the present. Through the other, he kept watch over the future.
“I fear our effort would be futile. Placing a barrier over this place would require it to be made of the same magics. The atmosphere would eat through any wall made by godly powers.”
Asherah floated closer to Yesh with a look of determination underneath her veil.
“Perhaps… I could be the one to make the attempt.”
In the middle of a world alight in heavenly flame, Yesh paused to take Asherah’s hands in his.
“My faith in your capabilities is absolute, my wife. But I must confess… I fear that channeling the dark magics of this body may very well throw your personality out of balance. Similar to Tathamet, you could become something we don’t recognize..”
Asherah nodded slowly in understanding. She reached underneath her veil and wiped her face.
“My wife?”
“I’m okay.” she sniffled. “The sting simply lingers a bit… We never should have left him in such a dark place all by himself.”
“RAAAAAH!!!”
A large abyss walker lunged at the deities over a pile of flaming debris.
Claws outstretched, he attempted to scratch Asherah from behind, but shattered into a million glass pieces instead.
“You may place the blame for his undoing upon my shoulders… perhaps due to the materials he was created with, I have trouble perceiving the future of our troublesome dragon. I wonder if I made him too powerful.”
“We had no choice. When considering what we tasked him to guard, power was an absolute necessity.”
Asherah looked down at the ground holding them up. It was unnatural and unfit for any form of plant-life or even fungi.
“I simply… wish that we had more to remember him by.”
“DIE, LIGHT BRINGERS!!!”
Another abyss walker charged at the couple on all fours.
Yesh blinked and the force generated by his simple action flung up a gust of wind that made even a tornado look mundane.
He tightened his grip on Asherah’s hands.
“He will come back to us one day. I am sure of it.”
“But when, dear?! He is on his 3,337,890th reincarnation, and the madness still has not subsided. At this rate, I have begun to doubt that he will recover at all.”
“Hold fast to your hope, my cherished one. The day when Tathamet recovers is slow to come but I assure you, it will come all the same.”
“But you have not foreseen it!”
“Nor have I seen the ultimate fate of man. But I know, in my heart that they are the pathway towards achieving the ideal balance that we desire… Even if our eldest son does not yet see it.”
Asherah placed her hand on Yesh’s cheek. “He will. Give him time.”
Yesh nodded and tried his best to put on a resolute expression. If Asherah was going to be this confident, he naturally had to follow her example.
“BLOOODDDDD!!!!”
A third abyss walker, larger than all of the rest attempted to smash the deity couple with a large forelimb.
The couple pointed at the creature together, and it was instantly transformed into a mound of dust and ash.
“I had been meaning to ask… is there some reason behind your decision to where a veil as of late?”
Asherah scratched her cheek anxiously. “Well, for better or worse I realize that these creatures are beginning to bear a slight resemblance to me… I thought it might be better for me to conceal this face of mine so there would be no room for confusion.”
Yesh smiled at her sadly. “I must confess that I believe your decision to be a terrible tragedy. A beautiful radiance such as yours is best shared with the world. It would be a beacon to light up the days of mortals as it has persistently brightened mine.”
“Oh, you…”
Asherah hugged Yesh tightly, and he didn’t hesitate to embrace her back.
The two of them enjoyed each other’s warmth in the lowest of all realms.
Suddenly, a large wave of destructive power was launched at them from out of nowhere.
Yesh held up his hand without turning his gaze away from Asherah.
Using no more than the pad of his middle finger, Yesh dispersed the attack with ease.
“What a fucking chest you are… I should have just rushed you myself..!”
Yesh could see the female Abyss Walker perfectly even if he were not directly looking at her.
She was a true domineering behemoth, not in size but by her demeanor alone.
Her hair was long and oily, covering her entire face. The only part of her expression visible was the burning orange eyes hidden just behind the curtain.
As Yesh was staring at her, his right eye activated all on its own…
“It seems we’ll finally be able to leave now, since the last one with that awful power has finally revealed themselves.”
Asherah held out her hand towards the abyss walker, but Yesh unexpectedly grabbed her wrist.
“Wait, darling… I can see it.”
“See what??”
“Him. Them. Together!”
Yesh’s words sounded too close to gibberish for Asherah to understand the current situation, so she took a closer look at the dark figure.
Her vision became split between the present and the past.
She suddenly felt like she was in a different place and a different time.
Asherah watched the dark figure in front of her interact with someone else inside the living room.
Compared to now, the woman looked much less feral. Her hair was cut short, allowing everyone to see her face which was about as far from ugly as one could get.
But it was the man she was sitting across from that made her stop everything.
She had never seen him before, and yet she knew him intimately without needing an introduction.
His eyes, even if they were different colors from what she remembered, were exactly the same.
The behemoth appeared to be teaching him her magic. She allowed him to ingest her blood and showed him the specifics of using the new power he had been given.
It would have seemed nefarious, but while the twin-eyed man was meditating she stuck her fingers up his nose.
Now, Asherah had no idea what to make of what she was seeing. But it seemed that was the end of it.
When her mind came back to the present, the dark figure was rushing toward her and Yesh.
“Let me eat you-”
Yeah pointed his finger downward and the figure was slammed face-first into the ground. She seemed completely unable to move.
Asherah grabbed Yesh by the forearms.
“Did you see?? That was-”
“Yes, I know it well. He looked healthy. Happy. It almost brought a tear to my eyes.”
Asherah was in the exact same boat.
“He clearly had a connection to this woman! What do you think their relationship is??”
“Of that, we cannot be certain. They did not appear to be in a covenant like you and I, and yet the love between them was apparent. I never realized how much he might have needed something like that. Shame on me.” Yesh shook his head.
Asherah stole glances at the dark figure’s struggling form.
She couldn’t hear anything that they were saying, so they were able to talk freely, but it appeared as though she was quite frustrated. Her obscenities were most unpleasant.
“What… should we do with her?”
Yesh looked as though he was dreading that question.
“She has the cursed power, so we must-”
“But did you not see? She will teach what she knows to Abaddon. They will come across each other one day! He might need her gift and we cannot give it to him.”
“Yes, but should he have something like that? Will his mind be able to bear the power? We only saw a small portion of the future.”
Asherah knew that his words were true, and yet she couldn’t so easily dismiss her intuition.
Yesh could also tell just how much his wife was wavering, and it unsteadied his own heart.
All he could think about was the playful manner shared between the two parties. He desperately wanted that to come to pass.
“I… believe that I might have a solution.”
