Fierce Horror Dorm: Take a Concubine to Get Stronger

Chapter 678: Tale Seeker, Mystic Sense Activated Again

  • Next Chapter

"Mommy, save me!"

"I told you guys we should have switched dorms long ago! Our turrets are weak, our neighbors' turrets are weak too, this monster can't even be killed!"

"Quick, notify Brother Long, let Brother Long come deal with him!"

"This monster can't be killed even with turrets pressed against its head, Brother Long definitely won't come!"

"Someone save me, I'll offer up my tender white butt, rounder and bouncier than Crayon Shin-chan's!"

Inside the dorm, although the Amusement Park Building players were screaming their heads off, their hands never stopped moving. The Turret Operator was going all out, bombarding the Ultimate Creature at point-blank range.

One Amusement Park Building player crouched behind the door, endlessly repairing it, sweat pouring down his forehead.

Raw materials ran out fast!

Boom!

Seconds later, the door exploded open!

The Ultimate Creature charged into the room and smacked the player repairing the door into a bloody pulp with one swipe!

The other players nearly pissed themselves. This roommate was fully equipped from head to toe - not heavy armor, sure, but his defense was still formidable!

The most absurd part? They watched their companion die right before their eyes, and they still had to force themselves to laugh!

If they didn't laugh, they were done for!

Their dead roommate had been under too much psychological pressure, his Joy Value constantly dropping - that's the only reason he got killed in one slap.

"Hahahaha, run!"

Wu Haocheng was engulfed by the Ultimate Creature's shadow, crying and laughing at the same time. The scene was utterly ridiculous.

The Ultimate Creature was right behind him, its claws almost reaching his neck.

If nothing unexpected happened, something unexpected was about to happen to him!

Just as all hope was slipping away, a crimson beam of light pierced through the air, freezing the Ultimate Creature in place.

Then, a spear came flying in like a falling star, pinning the Ultimate Creature to the ground!

Boom!!!

Stone chips exploded everywhere. Wu Haocheng's face was shredded by the debris, and he couldn't laugh at all anymore - yet his Joy Value kept climbing, and a glimmer of hope ignited in his eyes.

He knew he was going to make it out alive!

A moment later - though it felt like both an eternity and the blink of an eye - Wu Haocheng saw a mighty man stride into the dorm.

When he made out the man's face, his heart plummeted.

It was Xu Lang!

Why was this Demon King at Amusement Park Building?!

The others bolted the moment they saw Xu Lang. Only he, being too close, collapsed to the ground, too terrified to even run!

At this critical moment, optimism proved absolutely essential.

Wu Haocheng threw himself forward and dropped straight to his knees.

"Oh my, oh my, oh my! What tremendous fortune, what tremendous fortune!"

"The Dorm Owner of Demon King Castle has graced us with his presence! Your humble servant failed to welcome you from afar - please forgive me!"

"Great Demon King, please accept this humble one's bow!"

Xu Lang's heart remained completely unmoved.

He'd grown all too accustomed to this kind of rainbow fart flattery.

"This Ultimate Creature hasn't fully grown yet - it can't withstand too much sealing power."

"Should we send it to Demon Box World? What if it adapts to the Tale's rules?"

"To be safe, I should have Wu Huihui come over."

Xu Lang raised his hand and summoned. Wu Huihui was spat out by the black vortex gate once again.

The two repeated their first operation and quickly sealed the Ultimate Creature with the three-fold seal.

...

Xu Lang's every move was witnessed in its entirety by another Ultimate Creature.

This one seemed to possess a degree of intelligence. While observing Xu Lang, it even deliberately avoided the surveillance of the Eye of Providence overhead.

After its companion was refined, its body quickly faded into concealment, becoming impossible to observe.

The instant it turned invisible, Xu Lang glanced in its direction.

The Eye of Providence was called the Eye of Providence for a reason - it could observe everything below with zero blind spots, and its vision could even display living beings inside buildings.

He'd spied on so many things through it, plenty of them players outside the buildings, so he didn't pay it much mind.

After he finished refining the Ultimate Creature with the three-fold seal and freed up his Heart God, he turned back to check - and found nothing.

"Hm? It disappeared."

"That gaze just now was unusual. No hostility, no emotion whatsoever - oddly bland, as if it was deliberately masking its own presence."

"And now even the Eye of Providence can't track it down. Impressive. Someone like that would make a great scout for Mad King Building."

Xu Lang furrowed his brow, regretting the missed opportunity.

He still had three Mad King Building invitation letters in his hand, always wanting to send them out but never finding the right chance.

...

The void battlefield returned to a state of calm.

Xu Lang sat at the center of the battlefield the whole time, completely at ease, as if no one else was around.

For some reason, he kept catching a faint whiff of danger.

If this round really was meant to end with him as the finisher, the Dorm Survival Game should have ended the game early - but it hadn't.

Suddenly, a beam of light descended from the sky, striking straight onto the roof of Evil King Building.

Xu Lang's gaze shifted toward it.

"That should be the hatred potion arriving," Wu Huihui said.

Xu Lang nodded.

The next second, a hunched Tale materialized beside his leg, stooping down to pick something up off the ground.

[Taleblade Demon Box - Tale Seeker]

[Type: Tale]

[Level: 20]

[Race Tier: Elite]

[Skills: Tale, Seeker]

[Description: An old woman who picks up lost items. The moment you forget your heartbeat, your heart no longer belongs to you!]

This Tale Seeker was one of the more special Tales from the Taleblade Demon Box, perfect as a treasure-hunting pet. Xu Lang had used her plenty of times - during Pioneering, she'd inexplicably pick up all sorts of great stuff.

She was also a master at grabbing supplies.

It was just that back at Mad King Building, no one dared to fight Demon King Castle for resources anyway.

"Here."

The Tale Seeker raised her hand, holding a crystal bottle filled with purple liquid.

"What's that?" Wu Huihui leaned in, eyes brimming with curiosity - though really, she just wanted to get another whiff of Xu Lang's scent.

"Probably the Ultimate Creature's airdrop crate," Xu Lang replied.

Wu Huihui clicked her tongue. "The Dorm Survival Game really is cut from the same cloth as Mad King Building - releases some info, hides some info. Only said they'd airdrop a hatred potion, never mentioned they'd drop this too."

[Void Potion]

[Type: Item]

[Level: 30]

[Rarity: Rare]

[Effect: Greatly increases the evolution speed of Void creatures]

[Description: Pop pills, shoot up, get strong. Old Void here wants to fly too!]

"The Void has been tempting me this whole time!"

Xu Lang was practically drooling.

Why didn't he have a Void Blood Contract?

Wait... why couldn't he have a Void Blood Contract?

If he kept upgrading his Void Spark, there was no guarantee he couldn't unlock Blood Contract-related items. Sure, it was a big gamble!

Besides, he had another ability.

[Effect 3 (Void Body): Swallow air and never die, swallow dust and survive, swallow light and ascend. Can refine all things into one's own energy source.]

He'd never really made good use of this Void Body skill. Maybe with some clever maneuvering, he could actually refine a Void Bloodline?

Though it seemed like the odds of success were even lower than gambling on upgrades.

After all, the Mystic Sovereign Meditation Art was only an Epic skill - it couldn't be that heaven-defying.

Dragon Blood Rakshasa + Void... what would that become? Even if he didn't get a Void Blood Contract, even just an ordinary Void-series skill would be fine.

Just as Xu Lang's mind was wandering, the Mystic Sovereign Meditation Art kicked in!

[Mystic Sense Triggered!]

[The Mystic Sovereign senses it; the spiritual platform shines clear!]

[I have long heard that beyond Chaos, there exists a Void World, not following the same orbit as this universe!]

[My world is bound by strict order and countless restraints. If I could journey to the Chaos Realm, break through the veils of confusion, and escape this cage, would that not be a wonderful thing? Alas, I cannot go - I can only meet it in dreams!]

Xu Lang was sharp as a tack. He understood this half-classical, half-colloquial speech in an instant!

The Blood Mist World WAS the Chaos World, wasn't it?!

You can't go to the Chaos Realm... but I can!
