Chapter 2548 - 2548 Insect Species' Sacred Blood!
2548 Insect Species’ Sacred Blood!
Lin Yuan had been journeying through the alien insect world for two full days. As an Afterlife Realm Dictator, the Abyss Great Emperor was extremely fast, so Lin Yuan was already more than halfway across the world.
The alien insect world was much too barren. The rocks were much harder than those in the abyssal world, and no plants could be found.
Some cordyceps were growing in the alien insect world, but they were all consumed by the alien insects.
The alien insect world consumed everything it produced, yet it had produced a powerful and unique civilization. This excited Lin Yuan even more about the egg soaking in the sacred pond and the crater behind the mountain that oozed red fluid.
The alien insect world was already able to develop to such a degree in this barrenness.
When the insect empresses exchanged genes with lifeforms from the other dimensional worlds, they would become even stronger.
Lin Yuan had obtained the New Thearch’s Scale in the Deep Chasm Sea Eye and became a merman thearch. This meant that he had attained the mermaid species’ legacy.
While he had been accepting the legacy, a horrible picture played out in his head. The mermaids were losing a battle against a beautiful humanoid species that had bat wings. The beautiful winged species with ivory skin were likely a powerful lifeform that came from another world.
However, he did not know which world this egg came from.
“Lord, we have almost arrived at the insects’ inheritance ground. Carly is the only insect empress who stayed behind. Her nest is up front, near the inheritance ground. We insects are able to transfer information to one another. I have already explained the situation to Carly in advance. She is waiting to receive you!”
Lin Yuan nodded gently.
The most important matter to him now was heading to the inheritance ground and obtaining the two Endless Gems.
Nonetheless, he still chose to meet with Carly first.
This was because if he ignored Carly, it would seem as though he was brushing her off. Others would also perceive this the same way.
This would make it very difficult for Carly to continue developing.
Only the best dimensional lifeforms could make it to the Samsara Realm.
Carly had submitted to Lin Yuan, so he was willing to give her the proper respect and courtesy.
“Let’s go. We’ll head to Carly’s nest first and take her to the inheritance ground together.”
Lin Yuan’s words caused Mexa’s smile to soften.
Lin Yuan’s attitude toward Carly demonstrated his character and also signaled his attitude toward all the alien insects. Mexa could sense respect and warmth from his actions, and this made her believe that he held the alien insects in high regard. This meant that his promise was not an empty one.
“Lord, the new insect empresses are usually the ones who tidy up the inheritance ground. Carly is much more aware of the egg’s recent activity than I am. I have already told Carly that you are headed to the inheritance ground, so she has started her preparations. Your time won’t be wasted!
“Carly should still have some of the red fluid that comes from the crater behind the mountain. You can begin examining the red fluid first. I’m afraid there won’t be any red fluid there by the time you arrive at the crater. We have always been studying that area but haven’t managed to find out the reasoning behind the appearance of the red fluid.”
While she spoke, Lin Yuan saw that the ground below him had changed.
All of the hard rock had been crushed, and there were holes peppered among the crushed rock shards. It was likely that each hole was hiding countless alien insects.
The insects’ construction style was very rough and looked like an ant colony. But in spite of the exterior that lacked beauty, the interior was very intricate.
Insects were the only dimensional lifeforms that lived together in colonies that numbered millions.
When Lin Yuan arrived at the center structure, he saw a four-legged and four-winged insect empress with large eyes and a bubbly head standing there silently.
Once she spotted Lin Yuan, she bowed deeply to him.
If the other insects saw this, they would definitely be shocked.
Carly might be the weakest insect empress, but she was known for her untamable personality. She had even clashed against pinnacle Samsara Realm Dictators in the past.
If Mexa had not tirelessly persuaded Carly, the latter would not have been willing to stay back and watch over the alien insect world. Mexa only managed to persuade Carly because the two of them were on the best terms among all of the insect empresses.
Mexa had done Carly a favor after she became an insect empress. Thus, Carly was willing to do as Mexa asked.
Mexa had also promised Carly she would secretly share some of the resources she obtained with Carly.
Carly never expected that an invasion effort on a newly discovered world that deployed the full force of the alien insect would fail to such a degree.
Even the other 13 insect empresses, who were all stronger than her, had no choice but to obediently submit to this lifeform. Not only would it be pointless for her to resist, but it would also affect the impression of the alien insects that this powerful lifeform currently had.
After taking two days to digest all of this, Carly moved on to thinking about how she could get this powerful lifeform to acknowledge her rather than dismissing her for being the weakest.
In order to gain favor with someone, the basic requirement was to learn their character and likes. Carly did not know any of this.
She also knew that her EQ was not high and that she was not adept at interpersonal skills.
Hence, she decided to ask Mexa about all this.
Carly initially thought that Mexa would keep Lin Yuan’s likes and character to herself, as they were still competitors. After all, Mexa had slowly discovered these things about Lin Yuan.
Yet, Mexa answered all of her questions truthfully.
Thus, Carly now knew how to address Lin Yuan.
