Chapter 278: 278: Penemue

The moment Yusuke learned about the existence of Ophis, the first thing that came to his mind was whether Ophis was male or female.

At the time, Azazel had told him that the last time he saw Ophis, Ophis looked like a middle aged man. When Yusuke heard that, he assumed Ophis was male, so he let his guard down and no longer concerned himself with Ophis’s gender.

From then on, all he cared about was Ophis’s power. He was simply curious about this Dragon God who possessed enough power to destroy the world if he wished to.

Although he later learned that Ophis was actually genderless and could change form however Ophis liked, he didn’t think much of it. Being genderless meant Ophis wasn’t female, right? And choosing to look like a middle aged man meant Ophis leaned more toward being male, didn’t it?

That had been his assumption, but now, after hearing Kuroka casually say things like "Ophis-chan" and "she," that stupid notion was completely obliterated.

Even if the chance of her being a yandere were 0.001%, the consequences would be extremely dire, and Yusuke knew his rotten luck; he had this feeling that she would become a freaking yandere!

"Nyaa? What’s wrong with you?" Kuroka was startled by his sudden roar. She tilted her head and licked his face.

"You scared me, nya~!"

"Oh, sorry about that." Yusuke petted her head and apologized with a light smile. He felt fortunate that Kuroka had decided to come to his place at this time; otherwise, he would’ve remained completely in the dark.

’This is just my own assumption. Nothing is certain... Wait, why does she keep licking my face? Is this her fetish or something?’

’Hmm~! He tastes so delicious! I want to take a bite, nya!’ She continued licking his face, her tongue slowly inching toward his irresistible lips, her heart pounding wildly inside her chest.

Being this close in proximity, sensing his hot breath brushing against her face, and his thick, large cock touching her lower body, her face became flushed bright red, and her pupils grew hazy and unfocused. As if she could no longer hold back, she sought out his lips with her own and kissed him deeply.

’...Talk about not reading the mood,’ Yusuke sighed inwardly. He really wasn’t in the mood for this kind of thing, but he didn’t pull away and instead kissed her back. He decided to think of it as giving her a reward.

Soft, hot lips met his. Without the slightest hesitation, her warm, wet tongue slipped into his mouth, entwined with his own, and explored eagerly. It was a kiss that was urgent and passionate, somehow clumsy, yet filled with pure instinctive longing.

[FAHHH!]

...

Many people believed that Grigori and the Fallen Angels were the weakest among the Three Factions.

They didn’t have powerful aces like the Devils, who had the Four Satans, nor did they possess the overwhelming strength, vast influence, and extensive manpower that Heaven had spread across virtually every corner of the Earth.

In their early days, Grigori was made up almost entirely of Angels from the Fifth Heaven who had fallen because of their impure thoughts and sexual relations.

It was said that the Great War had originally been fought mainly between God and the Four Original Satans. However, the Fallen Angels were dragged into the conflict and forced to fight both sides. After losing a large number of their subordinates, they became the first faction to withdraw from the war.

After the Great War, Grigori went into hiding in the Human World. They began researching Sacred Gears and developing Artificial Sacred Gears, while also taking in Sacred Gear possessors who had no families and were left to fend for themselves, such as Tobio Ikuse and Vali Lucifer.

So even though they had lost many of their Cadres, a number that only increased after Kokabiel’s death, in reality, those who were ignorant didn’t know that Grigori still had several secret weapons hidden away, such as Tobio Ikuse and other Longinus users.

Penemue was the last remaining female among the Cadres. Compared to the other eccentric Cadres with their quirky personalities and strange fetishes, she was on the more normal side. She had a very calm and collected personality and disliked speaking loudly.

That was what her subordinates thought of her, but when she was with people she was familiar with, she was actually very easygoing and liked to crack jokes and tease others.

It was late at night, but the light in Penemue’s office was still on. A few strands of her long purple hair draped over her desk as she lowered her head, reading the documents spread out before her.

Like the vast majority of the Fallen Angels, Penemue was very beautiful and possessed an extremely voluptuous and sexy figure. She was tall, with long purple hair that reached well below her waist. Her orange eyes were hidden behind a pair of glasses, giving her a soft, intellectual appearance.

Her two perfect globes rested against the edge of the desk, pressed down and slightly deformed by the pressure as she leaned forward.

Back when Azazel returned from the peace treaty meeting that had been held in Kuoh, he talked quite a bit about Yusuke and also Issei’s fight with Vali. After all, a human with such absurd strength was an extremely rare existence in the entire history of mankind.

Benemune became curious about him. She briefly looked through some of his information, such as his age, name, and the people he was in a relationship with, but she didn’t dig too deeply into it. Perhaps it was simply luck, but there wasn’t a single picture of him, so she had no idea what he looked like.

But this time, Yusuke once again caused a great commotion. On top of that, the gossip about him being involved with Grayfia, Venelana, and several other women made Penemue, being a woman herself who wanted to get some of that tea, immensely curious. Her curiosity had been thoroughly stimulated.

Who exactly was this man? He had not only cuckolded Sirzechs, but had also become his stepfather and brother-in-law at the same time. It was so freaking outrageous!

Was this man named Yusuke Aoki the nemesis of House Gremory?

He kept taking their women as if he were some kind of chick magnet.

Penemue found it surprisingly difficult to find any information about Yusuke when she searched on her own. She was one of the highest authorities in the entire Fallen Angel race. Her position was far higher than that of a minister in a vast country, yet she sensed that someone was deliberately trying to erase or hide all traces of Yusuke Aoki, which only made her even more intrigued.

Fortunately for her, Azazel was someone who met Yusuke frequently. Sometimes, he even met him every day, so she simply asked him for help.

The stack of documents on the desk before her was the information she had obtained about Yusuke.

That nasty bastard Azazel might look easygoing and laid back, but everyone old enough to have known him in the past understood just how much of a scheming bastard he truly was. He loved pulling strings and setting up schemes whenever he had the opportunity. It was only in the last few centuries that he had mellowed out and stopped with his tricks.

Even so, he had still managed to collect a vast database containing all kinds of information about Yusuke Aoki.

Putting aside the implications if Yusuke were to ever go rogue someday, the fact that he, as a human, had become that strong at the age of seventeen was enough to make a scientist like Azazel extremely interested.

If he didn’t know it was impossible, he probably would have already put Yusuke on a table and dissected him just to discover what was inside him that allowed him to become so powerful.

"Yusuke... Aoki..."

Penemue’s finger slowly moved, languidly tracing over the picture before her. Her luscious red, glossy lips parted slightly as she whispered his name, her tongue lightly brushing against her lips.

An hour ago, she had begun looking through the stack of papers that Azazel had sent her. The moment her eyes landed on his picture, she felt a lightning like jolt run through her entire being.

Every single cell in her body seemed to tremble and rejoice. It was as if her very soul had been illuminated with overwhelming joy and longing.

It stood to reason that she should have been terrified or scared by those feelings invading her mind and soul, but instead of fear, all she felt was joy and a deep sense of fulfillment, as if she had finally found something worth living for.

Penemue didn’t know why she was feeling this way so suddenly. Why was she experiencing such intense longing and yearning for a man she had never met before?

But one thing she knew was that she had perhaps just opened Pandora’s box.

"Just who are you?" Penemue whispered softly. Her rational mind kept telling her that she should get herself checked immediately. If she had fallen under the effects of a hypnosis or charm spell, she needed to know.

But her body refused to move. Her entire being kept telling her to wait for a little while longer, just a bit more, to continue staring at his face for a little longer...

...

"Where to go?"

Ophis floated in the sky, looking down at the people below with a blank expression.

She had just left the Khaos Brigade’s headquarters after giving the people there more of her energy because they once again had promised to find a way to kick that stupid Red out of the Dimensional Gap.

She had long since lost count of how many times they had said this to her.

Ophis was too pure and ignorant. She had never considered how people as weak as ants could possibly help her defeat Great Red, a being whom even she herself couldn’t defeat.

But to her, this was the only option she could think of. Or rather, she hadn’t really thought about it at all. They were the ones who proposed this idea to her, and she accepted because she had nothing else to do anyway.

"Eat sweets?"

But Ophis wasn’t impatient. Or rather, the concept of time for her was different from that of normal people. A year to her was no different from a hundred or a thousand years. It didn’t matter how much time passed before she could kick Great Red out of her home.

Like a cultivator who sat on their ass for God knows how many millions of years just to reach the low level of the mid rank of the Heaven Shattering Earth Piercing Realm.

Besides, she was already discovering new things that she could enjoy in the meantime.

Like sweets, sweets, and even more sweets!

Well, there was also that thing called love, but it was far too complicated and annoying. She had given up on trying to find it for now. She would just ask Kuroka about it when she came back.

"Emm? Kuroka?" Suddenly, Ophis blinked her eyes and looked in a certain direction.

Then, in the next instant, her figure vanished.

...

Does anyone remember a few years ago, when there were no stupid Chinese translations or AI slop? All we had to complain about was that all the authors were giving their MCs the Sharingan and the Gate of Babylon, and dick riding Gilgamesh and Madara.
