Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All
Chapter 479-The Devil And His Girlfriend
Chapter 479: 479-The Devil And His Girlfriend
Verity:
It was pretty stupid, but the truth was that I had fallen asleep with him on top of me.
When I woke up, I realized he had held me so tightly against himself that his hands had probably left permanent imprints on my skin.
I slowly shifted beneath him, trying to push him aside so I could slip out of his arms.
Waking up naked with his hard dick pressed against my thighs certainly wasn’t helping matters.
After a little effort, I managed to ease him off me until we were lying on our sides, pressed against each other.
I reached behind my back, carefully trying to pry his hands away from my waist, when the doorbell suddenly rang.
I startled so badly that anyone would have thought I was doing something illegal.
"What? Were you trying to get away from me?" he mumbled groggily.
I lowered my gaze to meet his as he lifted his head from my chest.
"There’s someone at the door," I murmured sleepily.
"Do you always get visitors at such odd hours?" he complained.
My eyes drifted toward the clock on the wall, and I sighed.
"It’s afternoon," I pointed out, grabbing his hand to pull it away from my waist.
But the moment I managed to loosen his hold, I realized I had another problem.
I couldn’t just get up and walk away, because the second I moved out of his arms, he’d have a clear view of my completely bare body.
"Turn your face away," I muttered.
He finally opened his eyes, only to frown at me, amusement flickering across his face.
"What?" he asked.
"I said, turn your face away," I repeated, my tone noticeably sharper this time.
He chuckled and shook his head, but instead of provoking me further, he slowly rolled onto his side.
The problem was that we were lying so close together that, as he shifted, his arms and chest brushed against my breasts, grazing my nipples.
An electrifying wave of desire shot through me, forcing me to bite the inside of my cheek to keep my urges under control.
Once he had finally turned his back to me, with the blanket still covering him, I rose from the couch.
The doorbell rang again, prompting me to hurry toward the entrance.
However, the moment I peered through the peephole, I froze.
It was Gigi.
I staggered backward before rushing straight back to the couch.
"It’s your girlfriend," I whispered, bending over him.
"I know."
His casual response made me straighten in confusion.
"How do you know?" I demanded.
"I know the way she rings the doorbell."
The moment those words left his mouth, something inside me snapped.
My teeth clenched so tightly that my jaw ached, and my eyes narrowed into furious slits.
He must have noticed my sudden silence because he slowly rolled onto his back, the blanket now covering only his lower body.
"What?" he asked.
"Get up. Get the fuck up! Your girlfriend is here, the one whose presence you can recognize just from the way she rings the doorbell!"
The jealousy spilled out of me before I could even recognize it for what it was, let alone stop myself.
He studied me with one eyebrow raised before a smile slowly spread across his lips.
"I didn’t know, but thanks for informing me that she’s here."
The moment he said that, realization struck me.
Of course he hadn’t known. She wasn’t his mate, nor had he marked her, so how could he possibly have sensed her presence?
He had fucking played me, that idiot!
Feeling thoroughly wronged, I stomped my foot in frustration before hurrying into the bathroom.
Gigi was still ringing the doorbell, and I was terrified that he might answer it.
But he didn’t.
Of course he wouldn’t. He wasn’t about to jeopardize his relationship with her.
He was only here to make me suffer.
I quickly changed into blue jeans and a brown sweater.
When I stepped out, Ragnar was no longer on the couch.
The main door was still closed, which meant he hadn’t answered it.
Maybe he was in the guest room.
I hurried toward the guest room and stopped outside the bathroom door, knocking gently.
"Ragnar, don’t come out, okay? I’m going to open the door for your girlfriend," I told him.
I was just about to turn around and leave when the bathroom door suddenly swung open.
A hand caught my arm and pulled me toward the doorway.
Startled, I immediately braced my free hand against the wall to keep myself from stumbling, my heart racing at the thought of Gigi standing outside.
"What? You’re not going to take a shower with me?"
As soon as he asked that, he released my arm and began chuckling from inside the bathroom.
"Oh, don’t! Don’t laugh so loudly!" I whispered in panic.
I grabbed a tissue and hurriedly wiped the soap and shampoo from my hand before slipping out of the guest room and closing the door behind me.
Then I made my way toward the main entrance, wondering what Gigi had come here for.
More importantly, could I take advantage of the fact that she had no idea her boyfriend was here?
Perhaps I could provoke her into saying some of those vindictive things she always came out with whenever nobody else was around.
I took a deep breath and hurried toward the door, only to stop when I realized that Ragnar’s clothes and mine were still scattered around the living room.
I rushed back to gather everything.
"Is anybody home?" Gigi called from outside.
Biting my tongue in frustration, I hastily scooped up his pants, belt, and my clothes before tossing everything into my bedroom.
I quickly shut the door, locked it, and fixed my hair before returning to the entrance.
The moment I opened the door, I found her standing there with an unmistakably furious expression on her face.
She didn’t even bother waiting for an invitation.
Instead, she barged past me and marched straight into the living room as though she owned the place.
"Well, I guess you can come in," I remarked sarcastically, annoyed by her complete disregard for my invitation.
"Stop playing games."
Those were the first words out of her mouth.
My gaze immediately shifted toward the guest room door.
There was no way Ragnar wouldn’t hear this conversation, unless, of course, he decided to play another trick on me.
But then I noticed a shadow moving near the doorway.
He was there.
