Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All

Chapter 336-Her Devastated Parents

Jaguar:

How was I supposed to tell him I was extremely happy that he had taken care of his future sister-in-law?

Of course, I had to be careful about what I said.

"She’s our secretary, and she’s been alone through all of this. You did the right thing."

Still, one thing didn’t make sense.

"But why didn’t Gigi go to Ragnar? Why would she just leave instead of going to him for comfort?"

I still couldn’t understand what had made her suddenly walk away from everyone.

"She did come to me."

Ragnar’s voice immediately caught our attention.

Honestly, I hadn’t even realized he was listening to us.

Theodore and I both turned to face him.

"I told her to go home," Ragnar added coldly.

So that was it.

Whatever had happened last night, Ragnar had clearly played a part in Gigi leaving.

"Why would you do that?" Theodore demanded. "She was hurt. She came to you for comfort, and you told her to go home in the middle of the fucking night?"

Ragnar tilted his head slightly, his expression shifting just enough to warn Theodore to watch his tone.

"No, Ragnar. Come on. That was wrong," Theodore continued. "I understand that you get really upset when it comes to women being abused, but Oliver’s actions have nothing to do with Gigi."

Theodore kept arguing, even though Ragnar wasn’t responding or trying to defend himself.

"We had an argument, and I had to send her away before things got ugly, or before it changed the way I looked at her."

Ragnar looked like a completely different person.

This was the same man who would never even raise his voice when speaking about Gigi, yet now he was openly admitting that he was the reason she had gotten upset and left.

Worse, he didn’t even seem guilty about that part.

"Ragnar, I’m really trying to understand what happened. What did you two argue about? Was she asking to see her brother again?"

He remained silent, so I continued.

"If that’s what happened, then you need to understand something. Even if she hates her brother for what he did, the love they once shared, the affection, the fact that they’re family, none of that just disappears."

I tried to make him understand.

"Sometimes when you find out someone you love has done something horrible, you’re angry at them. You hate what they did, maybe even hate them for it, but it hurts more because now you’re going to hate someone you once loved deeply. That relationship dies because of what they chose to do."

I wanted Ragnar to see that none of Oliver’s actions were Gigi’s fault.

But he only stood there, stern and unmoving, watching both of us.

"So what was I supposed to do?"

That single question silenced Theodore and me.

We exchanged disappointed looks.

"She involved Verity in her little spying game. She sent her to find out who I had been in contact with, whether I had searched for or somehow gotten in touch with my fated mate from the ball we attended months ago."

The bitterness in Ragnar’s voice was unmistakable.

And suddenly, everything started falling into place.

At least now Theodore’s version of what happened last night made sense.

"Wait," Theodore said, visibly shocked. "Gigi told Verity to go up to the attic?"

He had been there last night. He had watched the entire situation unfold.

"I didn’t want to say anything because I was trying to protect Gigi’s image," Ragnar replied. "But by pulling something this childish and then disappearing like this, she’s forced me to say it. I’m not going to let her act as though we did something terrible to her."

His expression hardened further.

That was when I realized Gigi had really messed up.

"Anyway, I still have to find her. I don’t even know where she is or whether she’s okay."

A slight crack in Ragnar’s voice made my chest tighten.

He cared deeply about the people he loved.

Gigi should have understood that his anger hadn’t come from nowhere.

But maybe because none of us had ever seriously scolded her before, this kind of confrontation was new to her, and she had reacted badly.

Whatever the reason, Ragnar eventually walked away from us and headed toward the warriors.

That left only Theodore and me standing there.

"Gigi told us to find out who Ragnar had been meeting too, remember?" I said, finally breaking the awkward silence between us.

"I was thinking the same thing. Why would she ask Verity after already asking us?" Theodore replied.

"Maybe she stopped trusting us," I muttered.

"Then where the hell did she go?" Theodore groaned, throwing his head back and running both hands through his hair. "She’s stressing me out."

That was when a car pulled up.

Not just any car.

It belonged to Gigi’s father.

He was driving, with his wife seated beside him.

The moment they stopped, both of them got out, and Mr. Gavin Hill immediately rushed toward Ragnar.

Theodore and I exchanged one quick glance.

We didn’t need to say anything.

We both understood.

We rushed forward and stepped between them before Gavin could do something so reckless that there would be no coming back from it.

"Where is my daughter?" Gavin yelled at Ragnar.

"Mr. Gavin Hill, please calm down. We’re looking into it," I told him, making sure I stayed between him and Ragnar.

"My daughter, my poor daughter, spent the entire day drowning in stress and crying. Crying for her brother, crying over what her brother had done, crying because the people she trusted so much didn’t even bother to warn her about what was happening."

Mrs. Stella Hill’s voice broke as she continued.

"You didn’t even think to place warriors outside her house before doing something this serious. And now... now she’s gone, and none of us even know where she is."

She collapsed to her knees, sobbing.

Theodore immediately moved to help her back up, but she slapped his hand away.

"None of you came to us. Not one of you was there for my daughter. You’re all hypocrites. The moment you got the chance, you ignored her, while she trusted all of you like a fool."

Mrs. Stella Hill made no attempt to hide how strongly she blamed us.
