The whole living room was swallowed by silence, and the fact that Evan’s question was difficult to answer only made it worse.

"Enough..." Luke finally broke the silence.

"Suddenly?" Evan sneered. "When I questioned your beloved, it suddenly becomes enough? What a joke..."

His eyes narrowed, his expression turning cold.

"So tell me, Father..." Evan’s voice lowered. "Why do you think I suddenly went into a Rampage today?"

"How do I know?! Your power is never stable, and your stupidity isn’t any better. I told you that mere girl couldn’t help you, but you insisted on taking her as your Guide." Luke glared at him.

"Huh?" Evan’s eyebrows rose. "Are you seriously questioning her Guiding ability?" His expression hardened. "She was the one who guided me. Not even an S-rank Guide could reach me, but she managed to bring me back."

Evan sighed in frustration.

"Never mind. Talking with all of you would just waste my breath..." He paused, his expression turning firm. "I’m back just to tell you that I’m moving out."

"What do you mean...?" Esther finally spoke. She slowly stood up and reached for Evan’s hand. "Why would you move out?"

"If you want to follow me..." Evan looked at her, his voice softening slightly. "I’m more than happy to bring you out of here. But if you want to stay in this hell forever, I won’t stop you."

Evan then turned toward the door, ready to leave with Lumi still silent by his side, but Luke’s voice stopped him.

"Wait."

Evan paused but didn’t turn around.

"You can’t just walk away from this," Luke said, his voice still heavy with anger. "You need to issue a public apology to everyone who was hurt today. The ceremony was broadcast across the Empire. Do you understand how much damage your Rampage has caused?"

Evan slowly turned his head. "A public apology?"

"Yes." Luke’s tone was firm.

Evan stared at him for a moment before letting out a quiet scoff. "Then perhaps you should apologise too."

Luke’s expression changed. "What?"

"You risked everyone’s safety just to test how unstable my power could become." Evan’s gaze hardened. "So why should I be the only one standing in front of the public to apologise?"

Luke froze. "I don’t know what you’re talking about."

"Don’t you?" Evan took a step toward him. "The doctor found a foreign substance in my blood after the incident."

Luke’s face stiffened.

"And someone dismissed the report."

Silence.

Evan watched his father’s expression carefully. "Why?"

Luke’s brows furrowed. "What are you talking about?"

"The doctor was told to treat the finding as insignificant." Evan’s voice became colder. "Why did you dismiss it?"

Luke stared at him, clearly confused.

"I didn’t dismiss anything. No one ever told me about this. Which doctor?" He froze for a second, as if something had suddenly clicked.

"So you did know something..." Evan smirked, noticing the subtle change in his father’s expression.

Luke’s mouth opened, but Evan had already turned away.

"I don’t care what you want to do, but as a senior Sentinel, you better live up to your name and reputation."

"Evan—"

"I’ve heard enough." Evan walked toward the door.

Luke watched his son disappear from the room, his expression slowly darkening. The moment the door closed, he turned sharply toward Alexandra.

"Did you do that?"

Alexandra’s body stiffened.

Luke stepped toward her, his voice filled with anger.

"The thing I specifically told you not to do..." His eyes narrowed. "Did you still do it?"

Alexandra remained silent.

"Answer me!"

She flinched before finally raising her gaze. "I..."

"You actually did it?!" His voice echoed in every corner.

"I only wanted to—"

"I told you not to!" Luke slammed his hand against the table, making the remaining glasses tremble. "Do you have any idea what you’ve done?"

Alexandra’s face paled. "I thought I could control it..."

"Control it?" Luke let out a bitter laugh. "You deliberately triggered an SSS-rank Sentinel in a hall filled with people!"

"I didn’t expect him to lose control that badly!"

A slap landed sharply across Alexandra’s face.

She froze.

Her head had turned slightly from the impact, one hand slowly rising to her cheek as her eyes widened in disbelief.

Luke had never raised a hand against her before.

Not once.

For a moment, Alexandra simply stared at him, almost unable to process what had just happened.

"You..." Her voice came out barely above a whisper.

Luke’s chest rose and fell heavily, his anger still burning in his eyes.

"You nearly got him killed," he said coldly. "And you nearly got everyone else killed with him."

Alexandra slowly lowered her hand from her cheek, the shock on her face gradually replaced by something darker.

"I was just trying to prove that he was wrong—"

"By putting everyone in danger!" Luke snapped. "You know how dangerous Evan’s power is! He could have died!"

His fists clenched tightly.

"Every time his power reaches that level, it tears through his body just to keep up with itself. His muscles strain, his organs are forced to withstand energy they were never meant to contain, and the longer the Rampage lasts, the more damage it leaves behind."

Alexandra lowered her gaze. She remained silent.

Luke stared at her for a long moment before his expression hardened.

"I already put Leon forward as the heir of the Caesar family. What more do you want?"

Alexandra gulped, clenching her fists before slowly raising her gaze.

"What do you mean, Luke? I didn’t even think of that. But I am surely grateful that you put Leon in the position he deserves..."

Luke coldly stared at her before leaning closer, his voice dropping into a quiet warning.

"If you do it again..." He paused, his eyes narrowing. "Even though I love you, Alexandra, don’t expect that love to protect you from the consequences."

Alexandra’s expression stiffened.

Luke continued, his voice colder than before. "If you ever put Evan’s life at risk again, I won’t care who you are to me."

He straightened and looked down at her.

"So think very carefully before you make another mistake."

With that, Luke turned away. His gaze briefly shifted toward Esther, who had been quietly standing at the side, before he walked out of the dining room, leaving behind a tense silence that none of them dared to break.
