Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband
Chapter 221: Master of Flirting
Sora was also startled when she heard the Great Priest’s suggestion.
This priest really had a lot of demands.
Although she had reluctantly agreed to become the Leader of their group, Sora had never actually intended to take the position seriously.
It was only a temporary arrangement.
Being the Leader of a Tribe was not something simple.
Just look at Martin.
Even when he had been sick, he had still worried about every matter concerning the Tribe, no matter how big or small.
There were countless things that needed to be handled every day.
Sora was already having a headache because of Damien’s contract-totem situation.
Where would she find the energy to manage another group of people?
More importantly, she couldn’t understand why these Beastmen were so determined to cling to her.
Yes, she had saved them.
But shouldn’t saying thank you every day have been enough?
Why would they willingly abandon their own Tribe’s leadership position and instead insist on following an outsider?
Sora was completely puzzled.
Xavier, however, seemed to find the whole situation amusing.
He looked at Sora with a smile in his eyes.
"I think it’s not bad."
His tone was deliberately casual.
"I’ve heard that dragons are famous for knowing how to serve Females."
He glanced toward the Great Priest.
"Aren’t they the dream Beast Husbands of every Female?"
Sora’s expression froze.
"..."
Xavier was becoming increasingly sarcastic.
Sora finally looked carefully at the Great Priest.
So they were dragon Beastmen.
No wonder she had felt that their appearance was somewhat strange.
They looked a little like Fox Beastmen, yet there were also obvious merfocks-like features.
Previously, Sora had been too busy saving the sick Beastmen and rushing back and forth to properly examine the Great Priest.
Now that she had a chance to look at him carefully, she realized something else.
He was quite young.
Compared with the other priests she had encountered from different Tribes, this man was probably only around twenty-six or twenty-seven years old.
And he was extremely handsome.
His face was narrow and sharply defined.
His nose was high and straight.
His eyebrows were shaped like swords, slanting slightly toward his temples.
His deep brownish-yellow pupils shimmered faintly beneath the moonlight, giving his gaze an unusual intensity.
His jawline was clean and sharp, almost as though someone had carved it carefully with a knife.
His entire appearance gave off a cold and stern impression.
Yet this same man had just willingly acknowledged her as his Leader.
And now he had even offered to help choose Beast Husbands for her.
Sora couldn’t understand him at all.
"No need."
Sora shook her head.
"It’s already late. You should rest early too."
Despite the man’s handsome appearance, Sora had absolutely no intention of accepting his suggestion.
Although she had transmigrated into the Beast World, that didn’t mean she suddenly became interested in every handsome man she encountered.
Besides, her mission hadn’t been completed yet.
She already had enough problems.
Keeping Damien around had given her more than enough headaches.
She certainly didn’t need another mysterious man complicating things.
The Great Priest didn’t argue.
He simply lowered his head respectfully.
"Yes, Leader."
He paused.
"If there’s nothing else, then I shall take my leave."
He turned around and began walking away.
Sora watched his straight back for a moment.
Then she suddenly remembered something.
"Wait."
The Great Priest stopped.
Sora looked at him.
"What is your name?"
It was somewhat embarrassing.
She had known this person for quite a while now, yet she hadn’t even asked his name.
The man turned around.
"My name is Drake."
Sora blinked.
Drake?
For some reason, the name suited him.
She nodded.
"My name is Kaelira."
She smiled.
"You can just call me Kaelira from now on."
By correcting the way he addressed her, perhaps these people would gradually stop treating her like their Leader.
Drake didn’t immediately respond.
He neither agreed nor refused.
Sora didn’t care.
She had already done what she could.
Instead, another thought occurred to her.
"Is everyone in your Tribe a dragon?"
Drake nodded.
"Yes."
Sora’s eyes widened slightly.
That would certainly make things much easier.
At least she wouldn’t have to memorize dozens of completely different beastmen.
She nodded.
"Then rest early."
Drake bowed slightly.
"Yes, Leader."
Then he turned and left.
Sora watched his figure disappear into the darkness.
The moment he was gone, Xavier’s lazy voice came from beside her.
"It’s really a pity that Kaelira let him leave so easily."
Sora turned toward him.
Xavier continued with an amused smile.
"Dragons are famous for being submissive and gentle."
His tone was filled with obvious sarcasm.
Sora stared at him.
Xavier hadn’t always been this sarcastic.
Recently, however, he seemed to have become more and more skilled at provoking people.
Sora smiled.
"What a pity?"
She tilted her head.
"Are you not submissive and gentle?"
Xavier froze.
He clearly hadn’t expected Sora to throw his own words back at him.
For a moment, he simply stared at her.
Then the corners of his lips slowly lifted.
His arm wrapped around Sora’s waist.
He raised an eyebrow.
"I am indeed very submissive and gentle."
His smile became deeper.
"Does Kaelira want to try tonight?"
His eyes carried a teasing invitation.
Sora’s heart skipped for a moment.
That snake!
Why did he always have such an overwhelming sense of temptation?
Xavier didn’t even need to say much.
Sometimes one look from him was enough.
Sora didn’t want to lose the upper hand.
So she widened her eyes and stared directly back at him.
Their gazes met.
For a brief moment, neither moved.
It was as though invisible sparks were flying between them.
Then—
"Xavier!"
Ace’s angry voice interrupted them.
"Let go of her!"
Ace immediately stepped forward.
"Is it your turn today? Are you trying to cut in?"
He grabbed Xavier’s hand and pulled it away from Sora’s waist.
Then he squeezed himself between them.
His expression was filled with displeasure.
Xavier’s body was pushed aside.
He raised his eyes toward Ace.
This white tiger really was strong.
He had nearly turned one person into two with that sudden movement.
Xavier’s eyes narrowed slightly.
He had clearly not expected Ace to interfere so directly.
Sora, meanwhile, finally managed to pull her attention away from Xavier.
She pretended that everything was completely normal.
As though she hadn’t been affected by his gaze at all.
Xavier noticed this.
His mood became slightly restless.
He had just managed to capture her attention.
Now Ace had ruined it.
Xavier wanted to send another provocative glance toward Sora.
But Ace blocked his view again.
Ace reached out and gently turned Sora’s face toward him.
Then he stared directly into her eyes.
"It’s my turn today."
His voice was firm.
"Kaelira, you should be looking at me."
Sora suddenly found herself staring into a pair of clear eyes.
There was a hint of intelligence and straightforwardness in them.
Unlike Xavier’s eyes, which seemed to carry endless schemes and temptation, Ace’s gaze was simple.
Direct.
Honest.
Yet somehow, it had its own strange pull.
Sora’s expression softened without her realizing it.
She coughed lightly.
"Where do you want to go?"
Ace was probably the easiest of all her Beast Husbands to deal with.
He was straightforward.
Pure.
When Sora said something, he generally took her words at face value instead of overthinking them.
Sure enough, the moment he realized Sora was focusing on him, Ace’s face immediately brightened.
A huge smile appeared.
He had originally planned to take her back to his Wooden Hut.
But after what Xavier had just done, Ace suddenly changed his mind.
Who knew what Xavier might do if he took Sora there?
Ace hadn’t forgotten what had happened before.
Damien had once gotten lucky enough to have time alone with Sora, only for Xavier to deliberately drag everyone into the situation and ruin it.
Ace didn’t trust someone capable of such tricks.
He suspected Xavier would happily interfere again if given the opportunity.
Ace thought carefully for a moment.
Then he leaned closer and whispered something into Sora’s ear.
Sora’s eyes widened slightly.
She looked at him with surprise.
So this tiger had actually learned something new.
She had thought Ace was still completely inexperienced.
She hadn’t expected him to come up with such an idea.
Sora considered it.
She didn’t have much objection.
As long as Ace knew his limits, it was fine.
Besides...
She had never tried something like this before.
Sora nodded.
The moment Ace saw her agreement, his eyes immediately brightened.
He had honestly expected her to refuse.
Without wasting another moment, he placed an arm around her and led her away from the Wild Kitchen.
This was partly because of what he had seen previously.
After watching Sora take a bath in the tub, Ace had begun thinking about trying something more daring.
He had clearly been planning this for a while.
Soon, they reached their destination.
When Sora looked around, she suddenly realized they had arrived at a cliff.
Behind the cliff was a natural cave.
However, the cave wasn’t enclosed.
Wind could pass straight through from one side to the other.
The position offered an incredible view of the surrounding forest.
But there was one problem.
The cliff was extremely high.
Sora cautiously walked toward the edge.
Then she looked down.
Her face immediately paled.
That was high.
Far too high.
Her legs felt weak just looking at the ground below.
For a moment, she regretted agreeing to follow Ace.
Why had she thought this was a good idea?
The height was enough to make her feel dizzy.
It felt almost as though she were standing on top of a thirty-story building.
Sora swallowed.
She slowly stepped backward.
Ace noticed her fear immediately.
He came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her.
His voice became low and reassuring.
"Don’t be afraid."
He held her firmly.
"I will protect you."
Sora’s body stiffened.
How could she not be afraid?
She looked down again.
The enormous drop made her heart race.
She couldn’t help trembling slightly.
"Ace..."
She swallowed nervously.
"How about... we change places?"
Ace fell silent.
Sora looked toward the cliff again.
Her legs were already feeling weak.
Whatever plan this tiger had come up with...
Perhaps they really needed to find somewhere safer.
