"Are you sure Kaelira will come out if we say that?"

Ace asked with some doubt.

"Of course."

Xavier raised his eyelids lazily.

"She said it herself. If there was any movement from that wolf, I was supposed to tell her. I’m only doing what she asked."

"That may be true, but the Black Bear inside might not necessarily let her leave."

Lucas remained skeptical.

"After all, this is his first time."

If it were Lucas enjoying such a good opportunity and someone suddenly interrupted him, he certainly wouldn’t be willing to let Sora leave so easily.

The intentions of these three were obvious.

They had deliberately chosen to tell Sora that the infected wolf had awakened in the middle of the night, purely to ruin Damien’s opportunity.

One had to admit that this move was quite malicious.

Lucas already felt that once Damien realized what had happened, he would definitely come looking for them to settle the score.

Hearing Lucas’s concern, Xavier gave a light snort.

"What’s there to fear?"

He crossed his arms.

"There are three of us and only one of him. Are we really afraid we can’t beat him?"

"Who’s afraid?"

Lucas replied flatly.

"I just think the chance of success isn’t very high."

The three of them had been watching the infected wolf when it suddenly woke up.

The moment Xavier noticed that the wolf had regained consciousness, he immediately suggested telling Sora.

This black-hearted fellow!

Everyone knew that today was Damien’s turn.

Yet he had actually decided to wake Sora in the middle of the night.

His ulterior motives were simply too obvious.

But strangely enough, it also happened to work in Lucas’s favor.

Lucas didn’t want that Black Bear becoming too smug either.

The three of them quickly reached a silent agreement.

It was an agreement built entirely on their shared selfish motives.

As for Sora...

Ace’s words were like timely rain.

At this moment, Sora had never been more grateful to hear someone say that the wolf had awakened.

She had almost wanted to reward Ace for his contribution.

Sora smiled as she pushed Damien’s hand away.

Then she straightened her slightly messy clothes.

"That wolf is awake. I have to go."

She glanced toward the door.

"We’ll talk about this later."

Damien narrowed his eyes.

He didn’t stop her.

Instead, he simply nodded.

"Alright."

His voice was unusually calm.

"I’ll wait for you, Kaelira."

He paused deliberately.

"If it doesn’t work this time, your Black Bear Mother might have to come over herself."

Sora’s body paused slightly.

Her heart tightened at those words.

But she didn’t turn around.

She simply got out of bed, opened the door, and walked outside.

Creak.

The sound of the wooden door opening immediately attracted the attention of the three men waiting outside.

They all looked up at almost the same time.

Ace immediately gave Xavier a triumphant look.

"You really are like a god of prophecy."

He grinned.

"You actually managed to get Kaelira to come out."

Xavier’s lips curled into a smug smile.

"I didn’t expect that bear to be so useless that he couldn’t even keep Kaelira."

His eyes narrowed.

His voice was filled with both mockery and surprise.

Inside the hut, Damien watched Sora’s retreating figure.

But he didn’t chase after her.

Nor did he leave.

Instead, he calmly lay down on Sora’s Animal Hide bed.

His eyes slowly swept across the entire room.

There was a playful gleam in them.

This time, he wanted to see what Sora would do.

That Black Bear Foster Mother should be found soon, right?

And the letter in his hand...

It needed to look even more convincing.

When Sora reached the front of the Tribe, she finally realized that all three of them had come.

She stared at them.

Was this really necessary?

One wolf had awakened.

Why did three people need to come and notify her?

These guys were clearly bored out of their minds.

"When did the wolf wake up?"

Sora looked at the group.

"Just now."

Lucas answered.

Sora gave the three of them a meaningful look.

"Then you guys certainly came fast."

Her tone carried a faint trace of amusement.

The wolf had only just awakened, yet these three had already arrived at her hut and dragged her out.

And it was the middle of the night.

Three people.

To report one small piece of information.

Sora couldn’t help thinking that these three were clearly up to something.

These little schemes...

Tsk.

Tsk.

Tsk.

She shook her head with amusement.

"Let’s go."

Sora turned toward the forest.

"I’ll go see how it’s doing."

Under the cover of darkness, the four of them quickly left the Tribe.

Not long afterward, they arrived at the place where the infected wolf had been imprisoned.

The moonlight wasn’t bright enough to illuminate the area clearly.

Sora reached into her belongings and took out a luminous pearl.

The moment the pearl appeared, the darkness around them disappeared.

The area instantly became as bright as day.

Sora first used her Water Ability to purify herself.

Then she focused her mind.

The Vines emerged from her palm and stretched forward.

They moved through the darkness like living threads.

Before long, the tips of the Vines reached the wolf’s body.

Sora carefully sensed its condition.

Her expression slowly changed.

The wolf’s body temperature had returned to normal.

The terrifying heat it had suffered from during the day was gone.

Its breathing was steady.

Its lungs were functioning normally.

There was no difference between its breathing and that of a healthy wolf.

Sora’s eyes lit up.

"Great!"

She immediately withdrew her Vines.

"It worked!"

The three men were stunned.

They had known that Sora was testing a possible treatment.

But hearing her say that the wolf had actually recovered completely still shocked them.

When they had captured this wolf during the day, it had already been on the verge of death.

Its body had been burning with fever.

Its breathing had been weak.

Everyone had thought it might not survive.

Yet after Sora used that strange cotton swab and the material from the Flower Rat’s Pox Scab...

The wolf had actually come back from the brink of death.

The three Beastmen couldn’t help looking at Sora with renewed admiration.

She was becoming more and more incredible.

First, she knew how to cook.

Then she had taught them how to make pottery.

She knew how to Purify Salt.

She had strange abilities that could purify their bodies.

And now...

She knew how to treat illnesses.

Their admiration for her continued to grow.

The three men looked at Sora with burning eyes.

Unfortunately, Sora didn’t notice their expressions at all.

Her entire attention was focused on the wolf.

After confirming that there was nothing abnormal about its condition, she turned toward Ace.

"Take me to my Father."

Ace immediately nodded.

"Alright."

He stepped forward and took hold of Sora.

In the next moment, the scenery around them changed.

Ace teleported with Sora directly to Martin’s Wooden Hut.

The door was closed.

Sora looked at it.

Without wasting time, she raised her hand.

A water column formed instantly.

Bang!

The wooden door flew open.

Inside the hut, Martin was lying on his Animal Hide bed.

His face was flushed.

His lips were dry.

His condition didn’t look good.

Sora’s expression immediately became serious.

She quickly extended her Vines and examined him.

Her heart sank.

Martin had developed a fever again.

Sora immediately used her Water Elemental Ability to cool his body.

The water energy spread through his body, gradually lowering his temperature.

Once his body temperature had stabilized, Sora took out the cotton swab containing the material collected from the Flower Rat’s Pox Scab.

She carefully placed it in front of Martin’s nose.

Then she gently blew a small gust of air toward his nostrils.

The medicinal material entered his respiratory system.

After completing the treatment, Sora slowly stood up.

She walked outside the hut.

By now, the night had become extremely deep.

The entire Tribe was silent.

Sora’s eyelids were so heavy that she could barely keep them open.

She yawned.

Then she yawned again.

And again.

She was exhausted.

But she couldn’t leave yet.

She had just administered the treatment to Martin.

She needed to observe his condition and watch for any reaction.

Although the medicine had already worked on a wolf of the same species, there was still a difference between an animal and a Beastman.

Sora had come from the Apocalypse.

She didn’t know exactly how different the physiological structures of Beastmen were from ordinary animals.

Therefore, she couldn’t afford to be careless.

She had to stay.

Seeing Sora standing there despite having finished her work, Ace asked,

"Aren’t you going back to sleep?"

He wondered if she was too embarrassed to return to Damien after being called out by them.

That Black Bear really was stupid.

His Female had already left.

Yet he hadn’t even chased after her.

Such a good opportunity had practically been handed to someone else for free.

Although it wasn’t Ace’s turn for another half a day, he didn’t think it would hurt to start a little early.

Since that Black Bear didn’t know how to seize the opportunity...

He could do it for him.

"Kaelira."

Ace looked at Sora.

"Why don’t you sleep at my place?"

Sora was so exhausted that she barely heard him.

She blinked sleepily.

"Sleep where?"

The moment those words came out, Xavier couldn’t help snorting with laughter.

"How embarrassing."

Lucas had just been thinking that he was one step too slow.

But after seeing Ace get rejected so directly, he immediately felt much better.

He sneered.

"Ace, you’re still too impatient."

Ace immediately became irritated.

"What are you two laughing at?"

He glared at them.

"I don’t believe you don’t have the same intention."

Xavier didn’t bother arguing with him.

Instead, he walked over toward Sora.

His expression became gentle.

"Kaelira, sleep for a while."

He offered his shoulder.

"I’ll watch the Chief for you."

His voice was calm.

"If anything happens, I’ll wake you."

Sora’s eyes were already closing.

She was too tired to think about anything else.

She leaned slightly toward Xavier.

"Check if he has a fever."

Her voice was soft and sleepy.

"If his face turns red, you must wake me up."

The corners of Xavier’s lips curled upward.

"I know."

Sora nodded faintly.

Then, only a moment later, she fell asleep.

Her head rested against Xavier’s shoulder.

Her breathing gradually became slow and even.

Xavier remained perfectly still.

He looked down at the sleeping Sora, and a faint smile appeared in his eyes.

Lucas stared at the scene.

He immediately realized something.

Xavier’s move had been smooth.

Far too smooth.

Lucas silently took note.

He had learned a valuable lesson tonight.

How had Xavier become as shameless as Lukan?

Seeing Sora sleeping peacefully against Xavier’s shoulder, Ace secretly despised him.

This snake really was insidious.

He had mocked Ace only moments ago.

Yet in the end...

He was the one holding Sora.

The three men looked at one another.

None of them spoke.

But each of them clearly understood one thing.

Tonight’s battle was far from over.
