Hearing this, Sora didn’t dare breathe for a moment.

What kind of calamity was this?

Her heart was racing so fast that she almost felt as though it would jump straight out of her chest.

Sora couldn’t help feeling that Xavier was going to be the death of her.

What was this man thinking?

Why was he suddenly acting up in the middle of the night?

The primitive Wooden Hut was constructed from only a few wooden planks. The walls were thin, the gaps between the boards were impossible to completely seal, and the soundproofing was practically nonexistent.

In other words, if anyone outside was close enough, there was a good chance they could hear everything happening inside.

Sora’s scalp tingled at the thought.

With one hand, she firmly pressed down on Xavier’s restless hand.

With the other, she desperately signaled toward the door with her eyes.

Leave!

What was he trying to do?

The Night Watch schedule had already been decided by drawing lots.

Everyone had their assigned turns.

Yet Xavier had actually sneaked over here on his own.

If Ryan happened to walk in and see this scene, even Xavier would have difficulty explaining himself.

In Primitive Society, implicit rules were extremely important.

Once an agreement had been established, everyone was expected to follow it.

If someone deliberately broke those rules, it was equivalent to provoking the others.

Although Xavier was a Rank Five beastman, Sora didn’t think he had a great chance of winning against five Beast Husbands at once.

No matter how strong he was, numbers still mattered.

Therefore, Sora believed that Xavier should have enough sense to leave.

If he left now, she could still cover for him.

But despite the frantic signals she had been sending with her eyes, the person lying beside her didn’t move at all.

It was as if he hadn’t seen her hints.

Sora became even more anxious.

She had no choice but to reach out and touch Xavier’s face.

Her eyes clearly conveyed the message.

Stop dawdling.

Leave now.

Otherwise, it would be too late.

But instead of leaving, Xavier looked up at her with interest.

He seemed to be thoroughly enjoying her panic.

Sora’s face had visibly turned red.

The anxiety she was desperately trying to suppress was practically written all over her expression.

It was completely different from the calm and composed appearance she had displayed during the day.

When she had agreed to let Damien participate in the Night Watch earlier, Sora had used every bit of her intelligence to handle the situation.

The others might have been fooled by her explanation.

But Xavier wasn’t so easy to deceive.

This Female was always the one rejecting others.

When had anyone ever been able to threaten her?

She was far too cunning.

Xavier knew that better than anyone.

And watching her become flustered now was clearly entertaining him.

Sora grew so anxious that a thin layer of sweat began forming on her forehead.

She couldn’t take it anymore.

She tried to push Xavier away from her chest.

But the moment her hand reached out, Xavier caught it.

Instead of releasing her, he began playing with her fingers.

Sora stared at him in disbelief.

She tried pulling her hand back.

He held on tightly.

She failed.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she glared at him.

But Xavier merely continued holding her hand.

Sora curled her fingers, trying to wrestle her hand free.

The two silently struggled with each other.

Then—

Knock, knock.

The sound of knocking came from the door again.

"Kaelira, are you there?"

Sora’s entire body stiffened.

Her heart nearly stopped.

She immediately pinched Xavier.

Her eyes desperately conveyed one message.

Let go!

But Xavier didn’t move.

Instead, he gave Sora a wicked look.

Then he lowered his head.

He began kissing her fingers.

Sora:

"???"

This man was crazy!

Why wasn’t he running?

Why was he kissing her fingers at a time like this?

The sensation made Sora’s entire body break out in goosebumps.

The wet warmth against the back of her hand sent a strange, numbing sensation through her body.

It was like a tiny electric current had suddenly shot through her.

Her fingers tingled.

Her skin prickled.

Her face flushed an even deeper shade of red.

Even her eyes began to glisten with moisture.

She looked unbearably flustered.

Seeing her expression, Xavier’s eyes darkened.

For a moment, he became even more reluctant to let her go.

This lecherous snake!

Sora secretly cursed him.

She hadn’t seen him for only a few days, yet somehow his flirting techniques had improved again.

Wasn’t he supposed to be a cold and arrogant beastman?

Why had he suddenly become so shameless?

Sora swallowed hard.

She forced herself to calm down.

She couldn’t let herself lose control.

She bent her leg and tried to kick Xavier away.

But before her foot could make contact, Xavier pulled her closer.

His arms wrapped around her.

His lips moved close to her ear.

Her ear was already damp with sweat from nervousness.

His breath brushed against her skin.

Then his voice sounded beside her ear.

"What should we do?"

His tone was low and slightly seductive.

"Kaelira, are you going to choose him..."

He paused.

"...or are you going to choose me?"

Sora’s heart pounded violently.

She couldn’t answer.

She didn’t even know what she was supposed to say.

Just as Xavier finished speaking, another urgent voice came from outside.

"Kaelira, are you there?"

The voice was closer this time.

Sora’s heart nearly jumped into her throat.

The person outside sounded as though he could burst through the door at any moment.

Meanwhile, Xavier was still holding her tightly.

His hands began wandering restlessly, leaving Sora with no easy way to push him away.

She felt completely trapped.

She was being pulled from both sides.

Wasn’t the Beast World supposed to be filled with handsome men?

Wasn’t she supposed to enjoy a blissful life?

Why did she keep encountering these ridiculous crisis?

Every time she thought she had finally gotten everything under control, another mess appeared.

Sora couldn’t help imagining Ryan opening the door and seeing her fooling around with Xavier.

Her entire body went cold.

It would be over.

Her peaceful days would definitely be over.

Most importantly, Ryan’s attraction value and heartbeat value toward her would probably plummet.

And when it came to points, Ryan wasn’t exactly merciful.

If he wanted to deduct them, he would deduct them.

And whenever he deducted points, he usually deducted a huge amount at once.

Sora still remembered the previous time he had deducted a massive number of points.

Her rank had fallen almost immediately.

She couldn’t afford to let that happen again.

Thinking of this, Sora gritted her teeth.

She leaned closer to Xavier and whispered fiercely,

"Get out of here right now."

Xavier turned a deaf ear to her warning.

He remained exactly where he was.

His expression was calm, almost leisurely, as though the situation had nothing to do with him.

He simply watched Sora’s increasingly panicked expression with interest.

At this moment, Sora truly felt that Xavier was nothing more than a sinister, cold-blooded snake.

Her mind raced.

She desperately tried to think of some way to get the man beside her to leave.

But before she could come up with anything—

Creak.

The wooden door was pushed open from outside.

Rustling footsteps followed.

Sora’s blood seemed to freeze.

Her face instantly went pale.

It was over.

It was really over.

She felt even more desperate than the last time she had been discovered with Lukan.

Gone.

Everything was gone.

Sora immediately closed her eyes.

She didn’t dare look at the newcomer.

She waited for the system’s warning.

She waited for Ryan’s angry rebuke.

She waited for him to question Xavier.

She even prepared herself for the shocked expression she imagined would appear on his face when he discovered what had happened.

But...

Nothing happened.

No system warning sounded.

No angry voice came.

There was no argument.

Instead, she heard the familiar rustling sound of Ryan taking off his clothes.

Sora’s mind went completely blank.

What?

Could it be...?

No way.

Had they actually agreed to a two-on-one arrangement?

Then what was she supposed to do?

Sora felt as though the entire world had gone crazy.

They were really playing this big?

With Xavier’s domineering personality, how could he possibly agree to something like that?

And Ryan didn’t seem like the kind of person who would agree either.

So how could this possibly be happening?

No.

Impossible.

Could it be...?
