Chapter 1884: Chapter 1884: This Seems to Be Before the Arrival…
She was sure, however, that this was not a new building.
It wasn’t a century old, but it looked like it had been standing for twenty years or so.
As she walked to the edge and looked at the building across, she realized it was an academic building because the words “Academic Building” were printed on it.
Looking down, she noticed the academic building had six floors, each very quiet, yet through the doors and windows, she could see inside, where students appeared to be taking exams, all dressed in red and blue uniforms.
Having nothing else to do, Jiang Yue said, “Let’s go down and take a look.”
“Yeah.”
There was no elevator, so the two of them took the stairs down together.
Fortunately, the door to the rooftop was open; otherwise, they wouldn’t have been able to get down from there.
“Is it appropriate for us to go down dressed like this?” Xue Yan asked as they descended. This place seemed a bit like the apocalypse in terms of student attire, and their current clothes were completely ancient in comparison to that era.
Understanding his point, Jiang Yue said, “It’s fine, even in the apocalypse, some people would walk the streets in cosplay or ancient costumes.”
Having frequented the apocalypse, Xue Yan knew that indeed people dressed like this on the streets there, so he said nothing more and just nodded.
They encountered no one on their way downstairs.
It was only when they reached the bottom that they discovered this building was a laboratory. It was also because they had come downstairs that they realized there were dormitories behind the academic building.
Next to the dormitories was the cafeteria.
The students were taking exams, likely either midterms or finals, given the uniform quietness, with almost no one outside.
They only occasionally saw some teachers and staff walking around, who even spoke softly, clearly not wanting to disturb the students.
It was not good to ask around in school, and there was a security guard at the gate, so Jiang Yue and Xue Yan simply jumped over the school wall and then circled around the outer wall to the school’s entrance.
The school’s main entrance prominently displayed the words “Seventh Middle School”, next to which was an introduction board, essentially a promotional board.
Then they knew this was a high school, and a regular one at that in City A of Country Z.
The security guard saw them, and seeing their ancient attire, just gave them a few extra glances but didn’t pay any special attention. Passersby also gave them a few looks but didn’t pay much mind, naturally, no one suspected they came from another world.
Jiang Yue and Xue Yan didn’t mind either, just walking over to look at the promotional board. The font was exactly the same as the simplified characters in the apocalypse, which they could read.
“Country Z, City A …” Jiang Yue murmured with a frown.
“What’s the matter?” Xue Yan asked.
Jiang Yue didn’t respond immediately but looked around again before saying, “This seems to be two to three hundred years before the apocalypse.”
Xue Yan also looked around, “No wonder their dress and the buildings look almost like those in the apocalypse.”
The apocalypse was naturally no longer called the apocalypse, the zombies were long gone, and homes had been rebuilt; yet they still liked to refer to the apocalypse as the apocalypse.
After a pause, he asked, “Will there be zombies here too, entering an apocalypse?”
After thinking for a moment, Jiang Yue said, “Probably not, if that were the case, wouldn’t there be two apocalypses? Two identical worlds, what’s the point? Besides, the portal to the apocalypse is white, but the portal to this place is orange. The colors are different, so it shouldn’t turn into the same world.”
Xue Yan nodded, “Indeed, that shouldn’t happen.” Looking around once more, he added, “Then this place is much luckier than the apocalypse.” The apocalypse was a time when humanity was nearly wiped out by zombies.
