Chapter 2820: Chapter 1205: Raising Your Own Children with Someone Else’s Money (Part 3)

Although both parties roughly guessed each other’s identities, having a mediator for mutual introductions is basic etiquette.

Zalanda bowed slightly and said, "I should be the one to meet Your Majesty... Having Your Majesty come personally is indeed disrespectful..."

Gaven, standing behind her, merely nodded in greeting. Although he is a Tesser, he is now a demigod, with a transcendent status, allowing him to avoid unnecessary interactions.

While he did not easily use his status to pressure others, he also had no need to lower himself.

Harried indeed showed no displeasure, instead bowing slightly to Gaven and saying, "With Lord Road Builder here, it is right for me to come personally; I only hope you won’t blame us for our abruptness."

"There’s no need to fuss over these minor details; we should focus on the main matter at hand," Gaven directly shifted the discussion to the main topic.

"Lord Road Builder is indeed as straightforward as the legends say. Having someone like you is truly a blessing for Thacel," praised Prince Harried generously, as if he shared Gaven’s glory and disgrace upon his ascension.

Seeing that Gaven didn’t respond, Harried pivoted directly to the point and said, "Helena has explained the situation to me. Facing Sharptooth is an inescapable duty of our Tesser Royal Family, so the City Lord’s request is not excessive.

However, dealing with this Giant Dragon requires skill; it is not wise to satisfy all her demands unconditionally.

This will only fuel her greed, making her demands increasingly excessive.

I plan to reopen negotiations with her to try to reduce this Dragon Tax."

Even though Zalanda was not optimistic about this, she did not show any disdain and instead praised strong encouragement: "If Your Majesty has the ability to do this, all the better. With every reduction in Dragon Tax, our lieges’ burdens are lessened."

"Does the City Lord have any other issues? Feel free to bring them up for discussion," Prince Harried presented himself as a magnanimous ruler.

"I believe our main agenda should be the formation of the Governance Council, the basis for many agenda items," Zalanda’s eyes glinted with political wisdom.

Currently, Prince Harried is just an empty figurehead, unable to make final decisions on many issues, particularly those concerning the four Dukes.

"That makes sense," Prince Harried nodded in agreement, thinking back to his previous meetings with the four Dukes.

Without Zalanda, many agenda items indeed couldn’t be advanced.

Prince Harried’s gaze naturally drifted to Gaven, eagerly asking, "I wonder what Lord Road Builder thinks?"

If a demigod joined his Governance Council, it would undoubtedly enhance the prestige of his Royal Court.

"I appreciate Your Majesty’s kindness, but please forget about enfeoffing me as a Duke," Gaven could no longer evade, "however, I can recommend someone to assume the Duke role in my stead, and I believe she is more suitable than I am."

The same could be said, for he is now a demigod and cannot subordinate himself to others.

Prince Harried had an unmistakable look of disappointment on his face as he asked, "Who does Lord Road Builder intend to recommend?"

"I’ll summon her here," Gaven acted promptly, and with a wave of his hand, a three-meter-high portal appeared.

Like a flaming whirlpool, as if a blazing flame would erupt from it in the next second.

The Barrel Knight moved forward discreetly, placing himself before Prince Harried, with the shield on his chest armor glimmering with subtle energy fluctuations.

Whether or not he wielded an Evil Divine Artifact was beside the point, his loyalty to Prince Harried was beyond doubt, as he was their ladder to power.

Without him, their grand plans would come to naught.

The first thing that stepped through the Flame Teleport was a leg, an astonishingly long leg, almost giving the illusion it could reach someone’s chest.

The leg was long and straight, full of strength, glowing faintly red, clad in uniquely designed black-red Molten Lava High Heels, making the entire leg taut, perfectly exhibiting muscular contours, with distinctive dark veins visible at muscular joints, enhancing the clarity of the muscle outline while adding an Exotic Realm beauty.

Judging by the leg, the person’s style was undoubtedly sophisticated.

And this was indeed the case.

Her attire upheld a minimalist style, sexy yet not revealing, exuding a Barbarian charm, and her height necessitated others in the room to look up to her.

Yet, she also possessed the delicate and gentle qualities of an Elf.

Combining all these aspects, she presented a unique allure of her own.

Gaven introduced from the side, "This is Kellysha Mountain, the Chosen of Earth Bear Beary and Guardian of Earth City, Queen of the Golia in the Marching Mountains.

She and her tribe will watch over the Marching Mountains, thoroughly expelling the evil Monster Race from there. Your Majesty considers if she is qualified to be a member of the Governance Council?"

Gaven himself was unimpressed by the title of Thacel Duke, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t fight for his subordinates’ interests, especially those led by Kellysha of the Golia.

This was precisely their opportunity to start integrating into human society.

"Qualified, absolutely qualified," Prince Harried’s eyes sparkled, looking at Kellysha as if beholding a great treasure.

For the Tesser Kingdom, since history began, the Marching Mountains have been a source of calamity, with hordes of intelligent Monster Tribes entrenched there.

Typically causing minor upheavals every three years, major unrest every ten.

The Kingdom attempted to assemble armies for encirclement within the mountains, but all efforts ended in defeat.

The heavy armored warriors and knights of humans were hard-pressed to be effective here, outmatched by the agility of the poorly equipped Monster Tribes, compounded by the treacherous terrain, every foray into the mountains was tantamount to throwing lives away.

Not succeeding might be fine, just a loss of troops.

The real fear was progress—the conquered territories in the mountains turning into bleeding sores for the Kingdom, perpetually draining resources with little return, disproportionately so.

Over time, the Tesser Kingdom could only abandon the conquest of the Marching Mountains, granting lands along the way to numerous Knight Lords, prompting them to erect fortresses and estates, forming a Castle Knight Defense Line, supporting each other’s defenses.

Nort Castle was one of them.
