In the Dark Domain, a group of mushroom people gathered together.

Compared to the large and robust mushroom people Gaven previously encountered, these mushroom people shared a common trait — tall and skinny, both their caps and mushroom bodies filled with dry mycelium.

These dry mycelium are to mushroom people what age spots are to flesh and blood sentient beings, a symbol of aging.

They are the kings of the individual mushroom colony associations — Mushroom Man Kings, also referred to as Mushroom People Elders.

Their ruling system correlates with their lifecycle.

Many of their innate abilities are gained with the maturation of life.

The lifespan of a mushroom person ranges from 20 to 30 years; when first planted, they are akin to large mushrooms, lacking mobility and with faint soul consciousness.

Not until the age of four, when entering adolescence, do they gain the ability to move freely, growing into a genuine mushroom person.

This reproductive method mirrors that of the Sodalite Treants, differing only in one using seeds and the other spores.

In dangerous environments, survival rates are extremely low, only numbers can counterbalance.

Yet, in safe environments, reproduction rates can reach astounding levels.

Young mushroom people who have just acquired mobility have an ultra-small body type, one Life Dice, and a special ability — Communication Spore, these spores quickly drift in corridors, transmitting danger information to surrounding mushroom people.

This condition persists until age eight, when these young mushroom people become truly mature, doubling their size and gaining a second Life Dice and special ability — Reproduction Spores; once planted in suitable places, these spores grow into giant mushrooms that can become mushroom people.

At age twelve, mushroom people enter adulthood, activating the third type of spore — Communication Spore, which grants telepathy ability within its domain, facilitating collective mental communication, the main mode of mushroom people communication internally and externally.

Gaven has experienced this spore’s ability firsthand before.

At age sixteen, mushroom people begin to transition into old age, if reaching this age, they will trigger the fourth spore — Stabilizing Spore, an offensive spore, causing sprayed targets to enter a state akin to dizziness, drowsy and unable to react effectively.

This aids mushroom people in hunting and evading monster pursuit.

Age twenty marks a watershed, most mushroom people die from aging at this point, while some not only survive but gain larger body types and abilities, possessing a large body type (over three and a half meters).

They typically take charge, leading a branch within the group, many tasked with the colony, leading a faction of mushroom people, venturing to new caves to establish their colony, hence often called faction leaders.
