Chapter 2731: Chapter 1176: Gaven’s Dragon-Slaying Plan

"I see, I oversimplified things." Although Zalanda did not understand the fundamental operational rules of this world as clearly as Gaven did, she had already begun to sense them.

Especially as Gaven successfully dispatched to the local powers of the Tesser Kingdom, people’s hearts began to rally around her. She could clearly feel that something was taking root and sprouting within her, ready to awaken at any moment.

This must be the subdivine abilities Gaven mentioned.

Time is on their side now, and if money can be exchanged for time, it’s a very worthwhile endeavor.

"Moreover, eliminating them doesn’t align with our current interests." Gaven added meaningfully, "The more fiercely they fight internally, the less energy they’ll have to deal with us.

We might even stand to gain unexpected benefits, bringing more territory of the Amm Kingdom under our rule, such as Mulan and Brrost!"

Zalanda’s thoughts shifted suddenly, and she involuntarily switched to psychic whisper: "Could it be that you know who is the culprit behind this internal conflict in Amm?"

Even though the figure of the ancient blue dragon could no longer be seen, reaching the opponent’s level depended not simply on hearing; being a bit cautious was never wrong.

The earlier conversation was perhaps spoken for the other party to hear.

Zalanda was not entirely naive to the ways of the world, but as one of Lady Strategy’s chosen, much cooperation didn’t require prior discussion; it came naturally.

"Yes." Gaven replied in kind through a psychic whisper, "The instigator of all this is Sharptooth’s archenemy, Shoon VII."

"Shoon VII? Omar Shoon VII of the Shoon Dynasty? Wasn’t he poisoned to death by the last empress, Shani Empress, a thousand years ago?" Zalanda asked in surprise.

Zalanda was well-versed in Shoon Dynasty’s history.

It was the largest human empire in terms of territorial area on this land, originating from the southernmost Karinshan Empire, after those humans overthrew the rule of the Fire Giant Spirit and the Air Giant.

They entered a period of rapid expansion, first waging war with the Dwarf Empire of Satana, seizing the opportunity when they and the northern giants were mutually exhausted, declaring war, and after a series of brutal bloody battles,

the Satana Dwarves fell into a disadvantage in the endless war of attrition with humans, leading to a fragmentation; some dwarves chose to migrate north, others retreated underground, closing the entrance to the underground Satana and leaving the surface to humans.

In this process, humans not only acquired a large amount of dwarf equipment but also their advanced forging techniques, further accelerating their expansion, formally establishing a city-state alliance empire headed by Quisa (the exclusive title of the Shoon Dynasty’s emperor), which became the Shoon Empire.

At its peak, it stretched from the northernmost point, reaching to today’s Baldur’s Gate, to the southern tip at Yandor; The Sea of Radiance and Steam Lake were part of their inner seas, and the easternmost point extended to the Great Rift of the Xaya Great Plain, with its core areas being present-day Karinshan, Tesser, and Amm.

The latter half of the Shoon Dynasty’s history was deeply intertwined with Aiwikelasa Gran, inextricably so; the relationship between the two was not merely one of plundering and being plundered but was filled with stories of betrayal, revenge, and greed.

The following version is the most widely circulated and recognized by the public.

Aiwikelasa Gran hailed from the sands of the Enorok Great Desert, and her early deeds have vanished into the dust of history; when known to the world, she was already an adult.

She performed actions that shocked the world, conspiring with Shoon IV to murder Splendid Rhemnasar.

That was a great silver dragon inhabiting the Marching Mountains, who long opposed the tyranny of Shoon’s rule.

Aiwikelasa Gran promised to limit her hunting outside of the Shoon Empire and to prevent other dragons from settling in places under Shoon’s sovereignty. In return, she would have all rights to the Splendid Rhemnasar’s treasury and Dragon’s Nest.

With their cooperation, Aiwikelasa Gran successfully killed Hemnasar.

However, the greedy Shoon IV had no intention of handing the silver dragon’s treasure to Aiwikelasa Gran; the nearly defeated blue dragon had no choice but to flee.

Even more shamelessly, Shoon IV not only plundered all of Splendid Rhemnasar’s magic and gold but also spread rumors externally.

Claiming that the dragons killed were not one but two, in addition to Splendid Rhemnasar, the other naturally being Aiwikelasa Gran.

The seeds of hatred were thus planted; the consequences of offending a giant dragon are severe, especially when a dragon believes she has legitimate rights to reclaim her treasure, revenge becomes inevitable.

She secretly built her Dragon’s Nest in the Marching Mountains and then began a reign of terror over the surrounding area.

Of course, in the official records of the Shoon Dynasty, they never admitted that Aiwikelasa Gran was the blue dragon claimed to be conquered by Shoon IV.

It wasn’t until a century later, in Valley Calendar year 322, that Aiwikelasa Gran landed directly in Quisa Square in front of the Shoon Empire’s imperial palace, demanding that the Shoon Empire’s Quisa acknowledge her existence and claims. But by then, the Quisa was no longer Shoon IV, but his great-great-great-grandson, Shoon VII.
