Farming Family's Pocket Dimension: A Charmed Little Lady Comes to Farm
Chapter 351: A Ruthless Person
By this point, Gu Fei understood everything. She had been set up.
For some reason, that Miss Shen had taken a disliking to her and wanted to play a prank—or maybe she had something else in mind.
The next moment, Gu Fei realized she had been far too naive.
A foul, bestial stench wafted from behind her. Gu Fei dodged to the side on pure instinct. When she turned to look, a striped, ferocious tiger with a white-marked forehead and golden eyes had appeared silently before her.
Its emotionless eyes stared coldly at Gu Fei.
‘Holy shit!’
‘Miss Shen is ruthless. She went straight for the kill.’
Gu Fei locked eyes with the tiger for a second. Just as the beast lunged, pushing off its hind legs, Gu Fei abruptly vanished from right under its nose.
‘Sorry, but I happen to know Instant Teleportation.’
Standing outside, Gu Fei looked up at the high courtyard walls. ‘No wonder they’re so much taller than usual. They’re keeping a tiger inside.’
She just couldn’t understand how she had offended Miss Shen. ‘Over a stupid phoenix hairpin? Was it really worth trying to kill someone over it?’
Gu Fei walked quickly away from the courtyard. She didn’t see the maid who had led her there along the path and wondered if the girl was still inside.
The courtyard was in a rather secluded area. After walking for some time, Gu Fei finally encountered two young men who looked like scholars.
Gu Fei gave the two a curtsy. “Pardon me, gentlemen, do you happen to know where the poetry gathering is being held?”
Upon seeing Gu Fei, both men’s faces lit up with delighted surprise. They practically scrambled over each other to say, “Miss, are you also here for the poetry gathering?”
“We’re on our way there now. Why don’t we walk together?”
Gu Fei nodded and followed the two men down a winding path until they reached an open space.
A massive pavilion had been built here by the water’s edge.
The pavilion had no solid walls. Instead, it was enclosed by floor-to-ceiling, ornately carved wooden doors and windows set with panes of clear glass. The entire hall was airy and exquisite, and through the transparent panes, one could see many people seated inside.
Doors were open on two sides of the pavilion, with a few servants standing at the entrances.
The two men smiled at Gu Fei. “We can only watch from out here. You need a special invitation to go inside.”
Gu Fei nodded. “Thank you for your help, gentlemen.”
She held a box in one hand and the invitation in the other. A servant at the door took the invitation, gave it a quick glance, and let Gu Fei inside.
The pavilion was divided into left and right sections.
Several embroidered screens formed a partition down the middle, separating the male guests on one side from the female guests on the other.
The moment Gu Fei set foot inside, the heads of the male guests on the left swiveled in her direction in unison.
It was as if men had a peculiar sixth sense for beautiful women, some invisible particle in the air calling out to them.
All of them stared at Gu Fei. Whether from shock or some other reason, that side of the pavilion fell silent for several seconds.
Su Chen was sitting with several other scholars, and he saw Gu Fei the moment she walked in.
He stared at Gu Fei, scarcely believing his eyes. She had become immeasurably more beautiful since the last time they met.
To call her a peerless beauty would be no exaggeration.
Su Chen was stunned. In the moment he was lost in a daze, Gu Fei had already turned and made her way to the right side.
Just then, Su Chen heard someone beside him let out a long breath. “What a stunning woman. I was watching so intently I forgot to breathe.”
Feeling a surge of annoyance, Su Chen shot the man a glare before turning to watch Gu Fei’s back through a gap in the screen.
He quickly realized that quite a few of the men around him were doing the exact same thing.
As Gu Fei made her way to the women’s section, she succeeded in capturing the attention of most of the people there as well.
