Xiao Yu stepped inside and saw the shop was a complete mess. Not a single table, chair, or stool remained where it should be.

He turned and shot Stone a harsh glare. ’If we’d gotten here sooner, this never would have happened.’

At the receiving end of Xiao Yu’s glare, Stone quickly lowered his head. ’It was just a moment of carelessness,’ he though. ’How was I supposed to know things would get so out of hand in such a short time?’

When Lian’er saw Xiao Yu enter, she was immensely grateful to him for saving her mistress. She quickly found a relatively clean spot, brought over a chair, and set it down. "Young Master Heir, please sit."

Xiao Yu sat down with a commanding air and glanced at Gu Fei. Gu Fei immediately walked over and stood dutifully behind him.

Xiao Yu was quite pleased. He beckoned to the Chief of the Government Office, who was kneeling on the floor. "You, get over here!"

The Chief of the Government Office didn’t dare to stand, instead shuffling over on his knees. Xiao Yu gave him a sidelong glare. "Who sent you here to stir up trouble? Go and get him for me. Tell him I’m waiting for him here, and I want to see what kind of explanation he plans to give me today!"

The Chief of the Government Office hesitated, about to speak, but Stone shot him a vicious glare. "What, didn’t you hear the Young Master Heir? Now scram!"

Standing behind Xiao Yu, Gu Fei shivered. ’Suddenly,’ she thought, ’the Young Master Heir’s old attitude toward me seems positively gentle compared to how he treats these people.’

The Chief of the Government Office scrambled to his feet, trembling, and then fled, practically tumbling over himself.

Old Huang, standing in a corner, couldn’t stop the corners of his mouth from curling up.

’He had bet correctly!’

’Just as he thought. His judgment of character had never failed him.’

Lian’er then whispered, "Miss, I think we should tidy up a bit. The gentlemen don’t have a clean place to sit."

The moment she spoke, Xiao Yu shot her a glance. "Tidy what? Don’t bother. Whoever made this mess can clean it up later."

Gu Fei nodded at Lian’er. "Do as the Young Master Heir says."

She turned, squeezed her way through the crowd of onlookers, and went into the kitchen. She emerged with a freshly brewed cup of tea and offered it to Xiao Yu.

As Xiao Yu reached for the tea, he suddenly noticed Gu Fei’s left hand was wrapped up like a dumpling. His brow furrowed instantly. "You hurt your hand?"

"How did you hurt it? Did those bastards just now do this to you?"

Gu Fei was about to say no, but on second thought, she just said, "Mm." ’My hand was injured when Housekeeper Wu’s servant pushed me to the ground. They’re all Housekeeper Wu’s people anyway, so it makes no difference.’

Xiao Yu’s expression turned cold. "Those damned scum. They’re completely lawless!"

By now, some of the guests who had been driven from their tables earlier were all crowded around the counter, eager to watch the show.

To them, the Young Master Heir was a figure of legend. Now that they had the chance, they had to get a good look so they could brag about it to everyone later.

Gu Fei squeezed through the crowd and smiled apologetically at them. "For anyone who wants to check out, please come here. I’ll give you a refund. I’m so sorry for what happened today."

The young man with disheveled hair who had previously yelled at Gu Fei let out a laugh. "Who wants to check out? I’m still waiting to see the show!"

Everyone else laughed along. "That’s right, we’re not checking out! With the Young Master Heir here, what’s there to be afraid of?"

Hearing this, Xiao Yu glanced at Gu Fei, who returned his gaze with a wide, fawning grin.

The smile was as warm as the spring sunshine. For a moment, Xiao Yu’s heart began to pound uncontrollably again. He raised the teacup and took a sip to hide it.

Sister Dan and Young Master Zhou were squeezed together near the doorway. Sister Dan gave Young Master Zhou a sharp poke and whispered, "You see it, don’t you?"
