Gu Fei could only force a laugh.

Just then, Xiao Yu’s gaze fell upon the dough figurine in Lian’er’s hand.

The little figurine was dressed in peach-colored clothes and had its hair styled just like Gu Fei’s. Even its eyes and brows bore a slight resemblance to her.

He then glanced at the dough figurine in Su Chen’s hand and saw from its clothing and appearance that it was undoubtedly meant to be Su Chen.

An indescribable feeling welled up inside Xiao Yu—a mix of sourness and frustration.

He suddenly reached out and snatched the dough figurine from Lian’er’s hand. "This thing’s not bad. I’ll take it back for my little nephew to play with."

Su Chen frowned. ’You have a little nephew? How come I don’t know about it?’

Lian’er grew anxious. "Sir, give it back! You can’t have this."

Xiao Yu ignored her and handed the figurine to Stone.

Watching Gu Fei’s figurine end up in Xiao Yu’s hands, Su Chen frowned. "Brother Yu, that was made in Miss Gu Fei’s likeness. It’s not appropriate for you to take it."

’For a man like Brother Yu to carry that thing around is like carrying a miniature portrait of Little Fei. It’s completely improper.’

Xiao Yu let out a soft chuckle. "No wonder it’s so ugly. It’s supposed to be this girl."

Gu Fei glared at him furiously. ’It’s bad enough you stole my stuff, but now you have to insult my looks!’

Seeing Gu Fei’s fuming expression, Xiao Yu’s tone instantly softened. "I wasn’t saying you’re ugly, I was saying the figurine is ugly."

"Then give it back!" Gu Fei stared him down.

Xiao Yu raised an eyebrow. "No."

Then, in an instant, he lowered his voice again. "If you want one, I’ll just buy you another."

Gu Fei felt that Xiao Yu was deliberately messing with her. She shot him a few glares and muttered sullenly, "I won’t disturb you cousins while you enjoy the lanterns. I’ll go wander over there."

’If I can’t afford to provoke him, can’t I at least avoid him?’

"Miss Gu Fei—"

"Don’t you dare go!"

Su Chen and Xiao Yu spoke at the same time.

Su Chen frowned at Xiao Yu. ’What does my cousin mean by this? No matter how I look at it, something seems off. And how did he and Little Fei get to know each other anyway?’

Xiao Yu, meanwhile, said a little awkwardly, "I still have business with you."

Gu Fei thought for a moment. ’He’s probably looking for me about the Blood Drop matter.’ She sighed. "Sir, I really can’t agree to that business. I’m begging you, please let me off the hook."

Xiao Yu froze for a second before he realized what Gu Fei was talking about. He had just blurted out an excuse subconsciously. He didn’t know why; he just didn’t want her to leave.

Hearing Gu Fei’s words, Xiao Yu gave a noncommittal grunt.

Hearing this, Su Chen, who was standing beside them, couldn’t help but ask, "Brother Yu, what did you ask Miss Gu Fei to agree to?"

Xiao Yu said flatly, "This is between her and me. You don’t need to concern yourself with it."

He suddenly noticed the glazed lamp in Gu Fei’s hand, and his expression immediately darkened.

He had one of these lamps too, though the shape was slightly different.

Without a doubt, this lamp had been a gift from Su Chen.

The thought of her holding something from Su Chen made the tightness in Xiao Yu’s chest grow even more intense.

Just then, a voice suddenly called out from nearby, "Second Brother, Brother Chen, so you’re both here."

Everyone turned to look.

Gu Fei saw a charming young girl who looked to be about twelve or thirteen. She was wearing a begonia-red, gold-threaded embroidery silk cloak lined with fox fur. Her small face was framed by a white, furry hood, her eyes were wide and round, and her cheeks were full with baby fat, making her look exceptionally cute. Behind the girl followed a large entourage of maids, older female servants, and guards.

Gu Fei’s eyes darted around. Seeing that no one was paying attention to her for the moment, she quickly pulled Lian’er and began to sneak backward.
