Fantasy Lord: Beginning with Daily Intelligence
Chapter 696 - 392: The Curtain Falls—The Devastating Loss of the Three Northern Territory Kingdoms (Part 2)
However, a battlefield involving the Beastmen, especially with the subsequent arrival of the Abyss, led to an unprecedented level of loss for the Three Northern Countries.
The Blazing Kingdom’s tens of thousands of knights, deep within the plains, were completely obliterated, leaving none behind.
The Tulip Kingdom and the Purple Gold Flower Kingdom, defending the northern line, also suffered nearly complete losses.
And these losses occurred without any warning summons.
By the time the two kingdoms realized what was happening, everything had already ended.
The vast and ruined garrison lay there.
A group of bedraggled people remained silent.
No one spoke for a moment.
Someone opened their mouth instinctively, but halfway through, they didn’t know what to say, nor how to make a sound.
It wasn’t until a moment later.
A group of people came flying from afar.
Only then did someone among them regain their senses.
Yet, it was merely regaining their senses.
Even the group landing from the sky didn’t elicit a major reaction from everyone.
Finally, it was the newcomers who spoke.
"Baluyev Valentin, where are the others?"
The words came with a hint of hesitation.
"Dead!"
Baluyev Valentin opened his mouth, eventually responding.
"Dead, what happened?"
The newcomer was taken aback, speaking instinctively.
"See for yourself!"
Baluyev Valentin gestured to the distance.
"What is that?"
The figure looked over instinctively, and at that sight, his pupils dilated sharply.
"What, this is?"
His voice trembled with emotion.
"The Abyss has descended, and everyone within it has likely turned into Abyssal creatures by now!"
Baluyev Valentin gave a bitter smile, a sigh evident in his demeanor.
"This!"
Listening to these words again and seeing everything overlaid with a blood mist in the distance, the newly arrived figure felt a tingling scalp.
As a Prince, their strength had long reached the Divine Domain, and naturally, they understood what the Abyss was.
He never expected that what could have been merely Beastmen or Church of Gods’ involvement actually implicated the Abyss at this moment.
The Abyss, it was indeed the Abyss.
Not just them, even the Two Great Empires had to be cautious in dealing with its existence.
And now, it had descended here.
"This isn’t good!"
"We should retreat quickly!"
He seemed to remember something, speaking urgently.
At that moment, he suddenly recalled one thing.
That is, the Abyss spreads.
Although its current spread was still tens of miles away.
Once the Abyss has arrived, it would inevitably continue to spread and expand.
If it extended here, they would be doomed.
"Rest assured, the Abyss likely won’t expand anymore."
"The Three Northern Countries."
Baluyev Valentin sighed softly, closing his eyes in pain.
Scenes he had witnessed before involuntarily appeared in his mind.
He wasn’t a fool.
The moment those scenes appeared, he understood what was happening.
And this made him feel more powerless.
Divine Domain, Kingdom’s top power, what did that matter? In the Two Great Empires, they were as insignificant as ants.
"How could it be?"
"The Abyss isn’t something to joke about."
The figure was a bit dazed, and his expression was filled with confusion.
However, Baluyev Valentin didn’t answer him, just shook his head.
And this result left the figure more perplexed.
But his confusion was interrupted.
"Boom!"
A blinding white light spread across the entire sky.
In the next moment, countless white flames rose, completely covering the world.
The numerous blood-colored auras were incinerated almost instantly.
As the white flames spread, the blood-colored aura rapidly dissipated at a visible speed.
"What, what is this?"
The figure caught a glimpse, and his pupils dilated instantly, his body trembled with disbelief.
Goddess above, what was he witnessing?
The presence from the Abyss that troubled countless deities began to dissipate.
The scene was dreamlike.
That’s because it was the Abyss’ aura.
The most troublesome presence for the Empire, enduring by all creatures.
Theoretically, dispersing it was nearly impossible.
Once tainted, it clung like a leech, impossible to expel.
Unless utterly destroyed.
Even then, it might endure.
But now, it was indeed dispersing amidst the white flames.
Completely dispersing.
This scene almost overturned the figure’s understanding.
Amid his shock, Baluyev Valentin merely glanced, sighing softly again.
No one cared about these matters right now.
He only saw the blood-colored aura dissolving.
And this was exhilarating.
Amidst various thoughts of the people,
At the very center,
An old figure gradually began to crumble, a smile on his face.
"Princess Catherine, may you remain yourself in the future!"
A gentle voice came from Prometheus’ lips, as his gaze turned to the distant sky.
In the final moment, he brought down the Divine Fire.
And due to the Divine Fire’s descent,
Catherine eventually used the God of Light’s power to completely repel the incoming Abyss.
Even burning the abyssal aura.
Yet the cost was immense.
As one of the Human Race’s last heroes, Prometheus expended all his energy and lifespan.
His body began to collapse completely.
His consciousness sinking deeper, his gaze remained fixed on the sun.
Filled with hope, tension, worry, and final relief.
Ultimately, his form transformed into flames.
Engulfed in the white flames’ burn.
"Boom!"
"Rumble!"
Dazzling light, terrifying heat spread throughout the world.
Numerous blood colors vaporized in an instant without spreading.
Including those from the Abyss, or tainted by it.
Invisible flames, omnipresent.
Flames spread wherever visible.
Unlike ordinary flames, these white ones needed no medium.
In contrast, any other flames needed a medium, despite their power.
Yet these white flames seemed eternal, ever-present.
Burning the void, space, anything nonexistent.
"Aaaaaah!"
Screams echoed amidst the blood color.
The blood color dissipated, revealing the world gradually.
Yet everywhere lay bones and corpses.
Human and Beastman alike.
This moment, a glance tingled one’s scalp.
Despite a mere three months, compared to typical years, even decades of Beastman War, this one was brief.
In fact, shorter than any in the past.
But that concerned time alone.
In size and severity, this surpassed any Beastman War.
In losses alone, they exceeded past wars combined.
The Blazing Kingdom was nearly destroyed.
The remnants were barely a tenth.
Even the Purple Gold Flower Kingdom and Tulip Kingdom suffered immense loss, Elite Knight Orders sacrificed, with Sanctuary and top Divine Domain experts heavily lost.
Two-thirds of the Kingdom’s strength was expended here.
Beyond mere heavy damage to vitality.
