Famous Among Top Surgeons in the 90s

Chapter 2512: Making Plans

How are Student Xie’s research skills?

Don’t assume Student Xie hasn’t yet entered the research learning phase.

All the teachers vividly remember the scene at the national hepatobiliary surgery academic conference that day when someone rushed back in panic, fearing the gems of their own department would be stolen.

"I heard they’re each going to deliver something. Aren’t you worried?"

This comment came from Teacher Lu, the mother of Boss Zhang, as she was eating. She casually asked her son for his opinion, secretly observing his expression.

Zhang Huayao swallowed his food without answering whether he was worried or not, but was very curious about how many informants his mother arranged at the hospital. Otherwise, he couldn’t explain how she always got the news so quickly.

Informants? No need for Teacher Lu to deliberately arrange that. She has plenty of students who can report to her at any time.

"Why aren’t you talking?" Teacher Lu urged her son, who, always proud, would normally scoff at her inquiry.

"Not worried." Zhang Huayao uttered these three words, picked a dish, and placed it in his mother’s bowl.

The old mother understood her son. If he really wasn’t worried, he wouldn’t have said these words; he would have directly stated that it didn’t concern him. Teacher Lu chuckled.

His mother’s laughter sent chills down Zhang Huayao’s spine, making him slightly get goosebumps.

"What are you laughing at, Mom?"

She was laughing because she had never seen her son behave this way. It showed she was right in her favoritism towards the new favored one, who clearly could put her son in his place.

"What’s your plan?" Teacher Lu probed into her son’s stomach to see what scheme might be brewing. Claiming not to be worried must mean he had a plan.

"Mom, are you worried I might go against her?"

"Not worried." Teacher Lu candidly told her son, having no faith that he could prevail against the new favored one.

A click of the tongue. This mother’s favoritism for Student Xie was beyond reasonable. Zhang Huayao put his chopsticks on the table and shouted to his two sons, "Finish eating and go study quickly."

Originally wanting to continue eavesdropping on their dad, the big precious one, banter with grandma, both Zhang Tianxing and Zhang Tian’an had to reluctantly leave with a nudge from their dad.

"Are you really planning to transfer them back to a high school in the city?" Teacher Lu furrowed her brows, questioning her son.

It was hard enough to get both sons to study abroad. Calling them back would waste the initial investment.

Zhang Huayao’s face was stern. In his opinion, they shouldn’t have been sent abroad in the first place. Checking their homework upon returning revealed significant regression in their math, physics, and chemistry. Who knows what they were studying abroad? Their family sent the sons for genuine academic advancement, unlike others who use education for immigration, so he couldn’t accept this outcome.

"You’re not discussing this with their mother?" Teacher Lu reminded her son to respect the children’s mother.

"I did; I talked to her on the phone. I said I’d handle it." His wife was busy abroad and couldn’t manage, so it was up to him.

"Their stay isn’t because of me, right?"

Zhang Huayao examined his mother’s expression with a doctor’s eye: she seemed to be showing improvement recently, indicating the medication was effective.

Student Xie truly was a medical treasure.

Precisely because of this, he couldn’t hurry. He would let the people in front step on the landmines for him. Students with capability and strong independent thinking would have a comprehensive plan of their own. His plan was simple: to cross the river by feeling the stones placed by those probing ahead, hoping they’d all get bombed to uncover information for him.

Then when news later arrived that Student Xie named a mentor without caring, it would mean his predictions were spot on.
