Soon after, he placed a soul jade at each point but the jades were unlike what the partriach remembered.

"What method did you use to purify them?" She asked and Shen Xu sneered, completely done with the woman.

"Junior Fang, is it appropriate to keep asking about other people’s inheritance?" He asked, his eyes narrowed into slits.

Zhen Yuan placed this stone at the centre of the formation and with that last link, the formation came to life and exuded an ancient but powerful aura.

"Partriach, let someone bring the fifth princess." Zhen Yuan instructed and the partriach didn’t hesitate.

Soon after, Ling Kai and several others brought the fifth princess and turned to Zhen Yuan for instructions.

"Float her to the centre of the formation." The man said and Ling Kai did as asked.

In less than a breath, the fifth princess floated thirty centimetres above the qi drawing stone but her eyes were still closed.

"I am about to activate the formation." Zhen Yuan said and after confirming that no one would interfere, he injected a strand of qi into the array.

Instantaneously, the array emitted a white light and white speckles began drilling into the fifth princess’ body.

A breath later, the fifth princess glowed red and a blood-red formation appeared above her body.

"It’s the life draining formation." Someone exclaimed.

"Who is so cruel as to strike the fifth princess with such a vicious formation?" Another asked but no one knew the answer.

"Now to break the formation." Zhen Yuan said and waved his hands.

Simultaneously, eighty-one qiankun flags flew to the life draining formation and sunk at several places.

"Partriach, scatter some immortal stones around the formation." Zhen Yuan instructed and several elders began heaping immortal stones around the array.

When that was done, Zhen Yuan took out his law scripting brush and swung it towards the life draining formation.

Visible to the naked eye, silver runes drilled into the array and the formation began emitting a low buzz.

Similarly, Zhen Yuan’s formation began spinning but it span in the opposite direction but with the same frequency as the life draining formation.

"Unlucky bastard." Shen Xu muttered, thinking of the mastermind that was about to suffer a terrible backlash.

As Shen Xu expected, the soul mark dissipated when it neared Zhen Yuan and many thousand kilometres away, a female cultivator clutched her chest and spat a large mouthful of blood before falling unconscious.
