Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 226: A Day Without The Omega Wife
Early that morning, Angel drove her wife and eldest daughter to the airport, which was several miles away from Playa Linda. Despite the long drive, they arrived early and settled down to wait for their flight. April sat beside her wife, wrapping her arms around the big Alpha and resting against her as though she wanted to hold on to every remaining minute before they had to part.
"I’m really going to miss you, Papi..." April murmured, hugging Angel tighter.
The thought of spending two whole days apart was already getting to her. They had lived together for more than seven years without April travelling outside Mexico, and now that she was finally leaving, even forty-eight hours felt like an eternity.
Angel held her wife close, clearly struggling with the separation herself. She had agreed to the trip, but that didn’t mean she was happy about it. If anything, the closer they got to boarding time, the more she wished April would change her mind and decide to stay home instead.
While the two mothers were busy saying their goodbyes, their daughters were having their own little farewell. Lulu sat with Ocean on her lap, carefully holding her little sister as she had learned to do over time. The sight would have warmed Angel’s heart if she hadn’t been so occupied with the thought of being without her wife and eldest daughter for two whole days.
"I’m going to miss you, my Ocean..." Lulu whispered, hugging her sister.
"Don’t worry, I will bring you lots of chocolate ice cream, candies and cheesecake. Don’t be naughty to Mommy. Be a good baby Ocean..." the little Alpha instructed, stroking her sister affectionately.
Ocean looked at her older sister, seemingly content to remain in her arms, while Lulu continued holding her as though she were leaving for several months instead of a short trip.
Eventually, the announcement for their flight came, bringing the emotional farewell to an end. April gathered her belongings, and Lulu got ready to leave with her mother.
Angel accompanied them as far as she could before finally waving goodbye to her wife and daughter. She watched them disappear into the airport, already feeling the emptiness their departure had left behind.
"It’s just me and you, my big Ocean..." Angel murmured, looking down at her Omega daughter, who was strapped securely against her chest.
Despite Ocean being two years plus, Angel still loved carrying her this way whenever she could. With April and Lulu gone, she intended to spend as much time as possible with her remaining little girl.
"Time to go see the dentist..."
Angel adjusted Ocean’s position against her chest before heading out.
The visit to the dentist turned out to be just as dramatic as her previous trips to the hospital. Although Ocean only needed an examination, Angel behaved as though she were the one sitting in the dental chair, looking far more anxious than her daughter.
It was hardly the first time she had acted that way. When she took Lulu to the doctor for her injections, the little girl was the one receiving the shots, yet Angel had behaved as though she were the patient suffering through the entire ordeal. April would always look at her wife and laugh at her childish reactions. Angel could face situations that would leave other people terrified without batting an eye, yet the moment one of their children needed a routine medical examination, the big Alpha suddenly became a crybaby.
After the dental appointment was over, Angel took Ocean to the sea to check on her boats.
She now owned five fishing boats operating in Playa Linda, all purchased through her own efforts. When she had bought her second boat, the people who had once doubted her had been left surprised, and she had gone on to purchase three more with her own money. What had started with one boat had grown into a business she could proudly call her own.
When Angel arrived, she found Benny waiting for her with her one-year-old son, Manny. CJ was also there with her three-year-old Alpha daughter, Lolita, who would be turning four soon. Since Mary and Lola were out of town, they had brought the children along for the day.
The adults gathered inside the cabin while the other fishermen continued working. With their responsibilities being handled, Angel and her friends could spend the day enjoying their children’s company instead of worrying about the boats.
For CJ, having her Alpha daughter had been one of the best things that had ever happened to her. She had once hated the life she had been forced into, but little by little, she had begun adapting to her circumstances. Working for Angel had helped her cope, giving her something meaningful to focus on while she adjusted to the life she now shared with her Omega wife.
Still, there were times when she missed her former life. Before she had been kidnapped by the woman who eventually became her wife, CJ had been on the verge of fame and success, with a record label preparing to sign her. Her dreams had been interrupted before she could see where they would lead, and although she had found a different kind of happiness, the memories had never completely disappeared.
Benny, on the other hand, had gradually adapted to her wife’s occupation. The violence surrounding their lives had not made their journey easy, but she and Mary had given themselves time to adjust to their relationship before beginning their IVF journey. Now, they had a Beta son of their own, and Benny cherished the little boy who had become such an important part of their family.
After spending the day with her friends and checking on her business, Angel finally returned home with Ocean. Although she had enjoyed herself, she could not stop thinking about April and Lulu, and the moment she settled down, she reached for her phone to video call her wife.
April answered and showed Angel where she was. She had just finished her meeting, and she and Lulu were on their way to the hotel to settle in for the night.
Seeing her wife and daughter again, even through a screen, eased some of Angel’s longing. After they ended the call, she turned her attention to Ocean, who needed to be fed, bathed, and prepared for bed.
Angel took care of everything herself, feeding her little girl before giving her a bath and dressing her in comfortable nightclothes. Once Ocean was settled, she read her a bedtime story, continuing until the little Omega’s eyes grew heavy and she finally drifted off to sleep.
With Ocean tucked safely into bed, Angel settled down for the night. She tried calling April again, hoping to hear her wife’s voice before falling asleep, but there was no answer.
Assuming April was either busy or already asleep after her long day, Angel decided not to disturb her any further. She put her phone aside, settled into bed, and eventually fell asleep herself.
