Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 169: Wedding Dress
Angel smiled throughout the entire day as she sat patiently in the boutique salon, watching her fiancée try on different wedding dresses.
She had been smiling almost the entire time. Every single time the curtain opened and her fiancée stepped out in another gorgeous dress, Angel’s crimson eyes followed her immediately, carefully taking in every little detail of her look.
She honestly couldn’t believe this was actually happening to her.
The incredible woman she had completely fallen in love with was standing right in front of her, trying on wedding dresses for their upcoming wedding.
Angel rested her chin comfortably against her hand, smiling softly as she watched her fiancée turn around slowly in front of the full-length mirror.
For once, she wasn’t thinking about the ranch, her daily work, or anything else waiting for her outside those doors.
Today was just strictly about them.
There were several dresses hanging around the boutique, each one completely different from the other. Some were covered in layers of lace, while others had long trains and sparkling details that caught the light whenever April moved. Angel had watched her try on a few already, but somehow, every new dress still made her stare like it was the first one.
April was now four months pregnant, so finding something that looked beautiful while still being comfortable enough for her growing stomach had become part of the challenge.
Angel honestly didn’t care what dress April chose.
She already knew she was going to look beautiful.
"I look so fat..." April said, looking at herself in the mirror and gently checking her little growing baby bump. She was now four months pregnant, and their baby inside was currently the exact size of an avocado.
"No, you are not fat at all. I really like you the way you are right now..." Angel said from where she sat on the comfortable chair, glancing up from her phone screen.
"But everyone at the ceremony is going to think I have become fat..."
"Bebe, just forget about what everyone else is thinking. When I tell you that you are not fat, you are not fat. Even if you are actually fat, I’d still love you regardless of anything..."
April’s expression softened slightly, though she still looked at herself carefully in the mirror.
Angel could understand why she was worried. Weddings were already stressful enough without having to think about how everyone would look at you. April was also carrying their baby, and her body was naturally changing every week.
But Angel loved every version of her.
The little bump was not something Angel saw as a problem. If anything, she kept finding herself looking at it whenever April wasn’t paying attention.
"Would you still love me if I was a worm?" April asked, turning to face her with serious eyes.
"Yes, my darling. Even if you become invisible, or turn into some weird mutant, or a tiny worm, or an ant, or a monkey... I will still love you and carry you wherever I go in my pocket."
"Aww... I will love you too if you were a tiny worm..." April said warmly as she stepped back into the dressing room to try on another dress.
Angel just shook her head, chuckling quietly to herself as she looked back down at her screen.
"We would look so cute together as tiny worms..." April called out from behind the curtain.
Angel smiled at the ridiculous thought while scrolling through her phone.
She had been casually checking various Instagram accounts. She was currently on Abigail’s profile page, the girl who always loved to post and share every detail of her daily lifestyle online, but her account was now unexpectedly set to private.
Angel stared at the screen for a while.
She had not expected to see that.
For months now, Angel hadn’t talked to her best friend at all, and it really made her wonder how Abigail was doing these days.
There had been so much happening in Angel’s own life that she had barely had time to think about anyone outside her relationship and family. Between the ranch, April’s pregnancy, wedding preparations, and everything else happening around them, the months had passed surprisingly quickly.
But Abigail was still Abigail.
They had grown up together, and even though their lives had taken completely different directions, Angel still cared about her.
How was Abigail’s new baby doing right now? He or she would be around the exact same age as baby Angel.
Angel really wondered what name she would have given to that child.
"Are you sitting there checking on sexy hot girls?"
Angel did not even turn her head. She already knew it was her fiancée coming out.
"No, just checking on Abby’s profile... Don’t know why she suddenly made her whole account private..."
"Maybe you should just call her and ask her why," April said, smoothing down the fabric of her dress.
Angel finally looked up.
"What if she doesn’t pick up at all? She did not answer your phone calls or the twins’. What makes you think she will answer mine?"
"Because you haven’t actually tried calling her yourself yet." April walked over and sat down directly on Angel’s lap as she spoke.
"I know you did say you don’t want to call her because she tells her mom everything, but there’s really nothing we are hiding here. We are happy here, and she is your best friend. Just call her."
Angel thought about it for a quick second. Abigail was truly her best friend. They had known each other since they were very little kids.
There were too many memories between them for Angel to simply stop caring because of a few unanswered calls.
She could understand why April wanted her to reach out.
Still, before she could make any decision, Angel’s attention returned to the woman sitting comfortably on her lap.
Angel looked down at the dress April was currently wearing. It was a simple, elegant white gown with delicate small pearls placed all around it.
She smiled warmly up at her.
"I really think you look exceptionally good in this one, baby girl."
"Really? I do actually like it a lot. Since you also like it, this will officially be my real wedding dress. Now it’s finally time for your wedding suit. How about a classic tuxedo?"
Angel leaned back slightly, already imagining herself standing beside April on their wedding day.
"I am going to wear the exact tux I wore on our very first date... The one where you couldn’t stop staring at me the whole night. I’m sure that was the exact moment you fell in love with me," Angel said, grinning playfully. She was talking about their first date, during the time Angel was still desperately trying to sleep with her for stupid revenge.
April immediately remembered that night too.
It felt strange thinking about how different their relationship had been back then. They had started with so many complicated feelings and misunderstandings, and yet somehow, they had ended up here.
Engaged. Pregnant.
Planning a wedding.
Building a life together.
"I think the day I started to see you as way more than just a stepsister was actually the night I saw you naked... That was the exact moment I might have realized that we could never ever have a simple sibling relationship..."
Angel’s grin widened.
"Oh my goodness, my future April Del Rosario. You have been so naughty this whole time. So you actually wanted me from that very night, and you made me do all those things in the scrapbook..."
April’s face immediately changed.
"Really? You were literally sleeping with your best friend that exact night, you absolute asshole. I really wonder how many random people you have slept with before me. I’m even sure you would have slept with Carlos and Sabrina if they were Omegas. You total public dick..."
And April continued going on with her harsh words, making the Alpha quickly regret why she had ever changed the topic to that night.
Angel had clearly opened a door she should have left closed.
She knew April well enough to understand that once her fiancée started talking, there was no easy way to stop her.
The teasing quickly turned into a long list of complaints about Angel’s past, and Angel could only sit there taking it while trying not to laugh.
Eventually, she decided that words were no longer working.
Angel just ended April’s continuous motor mouth by quickly pinning her fiancée down against her chest and kissing her deeply to make her stop talking right then and there.
