Fairy Tail: I Don't Want to Be the President

Chapter 1101 438: I Will Be the Guild's Armor

  • Next Chapter

Compared to Fairy Tail, Magnolia's other mage guild, Ghost of Dusk, seems busier at the moment.

They are responsible for guiding residents to rural areas for evacuation.

The Fiore Kingdom has designated all large cities as high-risk areas.

According to war logic, large cities, main roads, transport hubs should be the focus points for enemy attacks.

Thus, except for mages and the kingdom's army, no one else is allowed to remain in these areas.

Civilians are mostly relocated to villages, forests, mountains, and other remote places to avoid accidental harm from the impending war.

As residents of a peace-loving nation, there's an unknown fear of war, making the migration relatively smooth.

However, since this enemy's goal is to annihilate everyone on the entire Isaac Continent.

Many people urgently bought magic tools, holding up a crystal ball claiming they're holder-type mages.

The kingdom's approach for these people is to enlist them as militia, setting them as the reserve force.

The king knows this is hasty, but there simply isn't time for hesitation.

Rhode stands on top of the guild building, watching Magnolia turn into a ghost town within a day.

Mira's voice comes from behind: "Worried, aren't you?"

Rhode turns and sees Mira holding the sleeping Zu Yilu, with a gentle smile on her face.

"Why bring the child up here?" Rhode hugs the mother and daughter together, "Careful not to catch a cold."

"It's stifling inside, needed some fresh air. And it's almost summer, it's not so easy to catch cold."

Mira leans against Rhode, feeling his warmth, and asks,

"You've been up here for a while, is it because you're uneasy?"

"Not at all." Rhode strokes Mira's long hair, "I'm not being modest, your husband is invincible!"

Mira glances at him: "You never said such things before."

"In the past, I didn't need to say that because you were a strong mage. Now I must tell you this, because you need to know no matter what happens, there's someone who can protect you."

Rhode looks at Mira, finds her eyes shining, and smiling like a flower, so he lowers his head and kisses her.

This kiss isn't shy and excited like the first kiss, nor is it passionate and sweet like those during a hot romance, nor is it urgent and greedy like intimate moments...

It is an expression of happiness and joy, as the two quietly taste the flavors of trust and attachment from each other's lips.

The brief exchange ends, and Mira lightly bumps Rhode's chest, playfully chiding:

"There's something you said that's wrong. I was just as weak before, but now I'm strong.

"So, it's not that you can protect us, but rather you and I will protect her together."

Rhode and Mira together look down at their daughter's lovely smiling face and softly respond: "Yes."

…

Elfman is spinning around in the guild nervously: "Hey, Lisana."

"What's wrong, Brother Elf?"

"Where did sister go?"

"Probably with brother-in-law?" Lisana grabs Elfman as he starts to dash off, "Hey…where are you going? Don't bother them!"

Elfman drags Lisana a few steps, barely stopping, looking as if he's about to cry:

"But…I haven't seen adorable Zu Yilu for twenty minutes! What if she misses her uncle? She might cry!"

"Calm down, it's not that serious." Lisana comforts briefly, then reminds, "Besides, Brother Elf, you've been focusing too much on Zu Yilu, neglecting others."

"Ah…" Elfman turns his head and meets a pair of resentful eyes.

Lisana pushes him a little: "Go on, isn't Brother Elf supposed to protect Fried with Ibarglin?"

Fried needs to maintain the technique in the central cathedral. If the enemy attacks intensely, he can't fight back, thus he needs protection.

Elfman murmurs: "Besides us, there's Biguslo, and Lisana, you…"

Lisana pats her chest confidently:

"No need to worry, I'm now a super-strong mage who can fight on land, sea, and air! Brother-in-law has important tasks for me too!"

Elfman gets pushed twice by Lisana before leaving.

Ibarglin looks at the big guy in front of her:

"Aren't you staying with Lisana a bit longer? There's still some time, we can go before sunset."

Elfman shakes his head: "No need, I want to spend time with you."

Ibarglin isn't used to Elfman's straightforwardness, feeling a bit nervous: "Spend…spend time doing what?"

Elfman doesn't answer, but seriously thinks for a while: "Abar, after this war, we…"

"Id…idiot!" Ibarglin gives him a punch, "Don't say such things suddenly!"

In stories, that's inauspicious.

"Ah…the timing seems off." Elfman scratches his head, thinking of brother-in-law's proposal to his sister.

Huh? Was the proposal voluntarily from brother-in-law back then?

The two walk hand in hand, out of the guild.

"Is it starting?" Carla sees Elfman and Ibarglin heading out, knowing it's time.

She looks helplessly at the blushing Wendy beside her: "What did you hear again?"

"Nothing…nothing!" Wendy covers her face, as if someone else is about to marry?

"War…" Porlyusica beside them sighs. Even Wendy, such a young child, gets dragged into war.

Humans are truly foolish creatures, always repeating the same mistakes.

Fairy Tail, being the passive side, can't really criticize anything from her standpoint.
