You Su’s heart tightened as he quickly gripped Mo Song Sword, watching vigilantly towards the door.

In this desolate place, the sudden sound naturally aroused vigilance.

Bai Ze also rested its two paws on the edge of the barrel, cautiously staring in the direction of the sound.

The sound of footsteps on the snow came closer and closer, distinguishable as two individuals, one light and one heavy, likely a man and a woman.

When the two outside reached the doorway, the footsteps abruptly stopped.

You Su’s expression turned serious, thinking to himself that this was indeed the case.

These two people outside were indeed coming for them!

"Hello, is anyone there?"

A male voice called out, accompanied by a gentle knock on the door. Judging by this behavior, he seemed to harbor no ill intentions.

You Su didn’t respond quickly to his question. Seeing there was no response for a long time, the woman quietly spoke up:

"Qu Ye, let’s go... we’ve scared them..."

The man didn’t hesitate much upon hearing this, nodding, "It was rude to visit unannounced, please forgive us, we shall leave now."

After speaking, the sound of footsteps on the snow resumed.

Bai Ze, watching the two figures turning to leave through the paper window, breathed a silent sigh of relief, but unexpectedly, You Su suddenly called out:

"Wait."

Bai Ze was quite puzzled by You Su’s decision to court trouble, but You Su had his reasons.

These two spoke without that distinct Beiao accent, instead using the extremely standard Five Continents dialect. This meant they were likely not locals of Beiao, but like You Su, came from elsewhere. This intrigued You Su, feeling that he might learn something from them.

The two people outside paused mid-step, extremely delighted, exclaiming, "There really is someone here!"

"What brings you here?" You Su tried his best to mimic the Beiao accent in his speech.

"We are travelers. Passing by, we saw smoke from cooking and wanted to ask a few questions." The male voice, clearly the one in charge, did all the talking.

"Travelers coming all the way here are indeed rare..." You Su hinted.

"To be honest, sir, we are from the Zhongyuan Continent, and we came all the way here to see the famous aurora in the Arctic Snowfield." The man was sharp and quickly explained his purpose.

You Su nodded slightly, secretly pleased he had decided to detain the two. If they were indeed from Zhongyuan Continent, they would definitely have insights into that incident.

"I understand. I’m bathing right now; please wait a moment." You Su answered casually.

The man didn’t seem surprised but his tone was full of apology: "Of course, please feel free, we will wait outside."

With that, he led the woman a bit further away, adhering to proper etiquette.

Even though You Su still wanted to soak for a while, more important matters awaited, so he couldn’t indulge. Bai Ze, however, remained in the water, clearly very pleased with the large tub it had to itself.

You Su shook his head helplessly, but he didn’t intend to let Bai Ze show itself.

Once fully dressed, with only part of his face exposed, You Su pushed open the door and walked out. The cold wind immediately swept snowflakes against his face, causing his previously rosy complexion to pale.

The man and woman wore local traditional padded clothes typical of Beiao, appearing quite sophisticated, but lacking the deep-set eyes typical of Beiao people. They looked quite young, probably in their twenties. However, one couldn’t determine age reliably among cultivators. You Su roughly estimated they might be at the Condensed Water Lower Realm.

The two exchanged a glance, seeming to communicate their first impression of You Su, and then quickly greeted him.

If their previous courtesy was out of upbringing, their current politeness came from the heart. They could sense that the cultivation level of the young cultivator before them was unfathomable, certainly beyond what they could fathom.

"Take your time, sir, we are not in a hurry." The man apologized.

"What would you like to ask?"

You Su got straight to the point, which befitted the straightforward character of Beiao people.

The man hesitated for a moment, then said, "Since you are a fellow cultivator, we won’t beat around the bush. This is my fiancée, and she wants to see the famous aurora of Beiao before our marriage. We heard the aurora is common in the Arctic Snowfield, so we traveled all the way from the Zhongyuan Continent here, but have yet to see it. We’ve been in the snowy wilderness for a day and a night, thinking we’d come to an uninhabited area until we saw smoke here and wanted to ask about our location and where we might find the aurora?"

You Su was slightly surprised, "You certainly have a sense of leisure."

"You’ve misunderstood, sir; it’s just a small dream my fiancée and I have. If we can’t reach the pinnacle of the immortal path, then we’ll travel the Five Continents to see all the wonders of the world." The man’s voice grew louder, showing satisfaction with his aspiration.

The woman blushed slightly and playfully punched her partner, bashfully saying:

"You’re just making excuses for not having a talent for cultivation."

The man scratched his head awkwardly, feeling somewhat boastful talking about his dreams before someone of a higher realm.

"It’s a fine aspiration, and even better that you can put it into action."

You Su nodded. The intimate interaction between the couple made him feel a pang of sadness. Secretly, he resolved to one day travel the world with them when peace reigns across the land.
