Fairy, Don't Be Afraid, I Am Blind
Chapter 702: Those Who Find Life in Facing Death (Part 2)
Chapter 702: Chapter 334: Those Who Find Life in Facing Death (Part 2)
Ji Xueruo never imagined that her ancestors of the Snake Race would be imprisoned on a mystical island overseas.
An infinite number of mysteries surged in her heart, as if called by destiny. She walked towards the insane giant serpent, as if she had lost her soul.
But the screams of the cultivators being torn apart by the giant serpent echoed continuously in the rain. You Su made a decisive move, picked up Ji Xueruo’s waist, and tried to take her away.
The surrounding scenes of carnage appeared like a nightmare in her eyes, with blood rain splattering, screams and lightning tearing the sky together.
Some cultivators attempted to use skills to resist the frenzied giant serpent, but their power was like an ant trying to shake a tree in front of the serpent. Instead, they were like fragile branches, turned into pulp by the serpent’s sweeping tail.
This completely dispelled some people’s courage to resist. These once high-spirited geniuses now scattered like headless flies, regretting entering this seemingly beautiful overseas island.
The secret of the failed teleportation talisman became known to more and more people, but there was no time for them to properly research the cause of the failure; all they could do was run as far as they could.
However, those cultivators who first noticed the anomaly and fled were not the lucky ones who escaped danger first. For some reason, they saw something and ran back!
As if in the depths of the forest in the rain, there was something more terrifying than this frenzied python.
You Su sharply sensed something unusual, the pouring rain obscuring his vision of the distance.
All he could hear were the heart-wrenching screams of those who turned back:
“Help!!”
Even someone as calm as You Su was now directionless.
At this moment, he suddenly noticed someone approaching. He turned around with his sword, only to find that it was not others but Si Han and Zixun!
The two women were drenched in rain, with messy hair plastered to their cheeks.
This was the first time You Su saw the appearances of the two senior sisters. In his previous imagination, they should be carefree fairies, not in such a sorry state.
And the decisive and brave look in their eyes silently conveyed to him the reason for such a huge change.
Behind the two women were several other fellow disciples from the Profound Sky Sect, including Fu Heng and Duanmu Jin. It was clear that amidst the great chaos, they were the ones who successfully rescued the two women from the surrounding danger.
“You Su! It’s me!” Zixun hasty introduced herself.
You Su slightly withdrew his sword, feeling guilty: “Senior sister, as long as you’re safe!”
Si Han looked at the dazed girl in You Su’s arms and slightly pursed her lips. She couldn’t help but ask:
“How did Junior Sister Lingruo also enter the island?”
Si Han did not know the inside story that Ji Xueruo and Ji Lingruo looked exactly alike. Seeing You Su and the girl acting familiarly, she mistook her for Ji Lingruo.
You Su knew there was a misunderstanding, but had no time to explain, so he only said: “It’s a long story, Senior Sister, quickly take the inheritance and leave the island!”
“We can’t get out.” Si Han shook her head, her expression a bit somber.
“The teleportation talisman failed, but you can still leave from the coast! Now that we’ve gathered together, we can escort you off the island together!” You Su was confident about himself and the members of Profound Sky Sect.
“No, we can’t even approach the coast.” Si Han looked up and deeply glanced at You Su, “It’s evil spirits! There really are strange things at the coastal area, this isn’t an alarmist talk! It’s true!”
You Su felt as if thunder struck him, the degree of mysteriousness of this island was beyond his expectations.
As if sensing something, he quickly looked into the depths of the rain curtain, the oppressive darkness resembling the closing dusk, seemingly wanting to devour the last daylight.
“What on earth is happening?!”
You Su felt a nameless rage in his heart, questioning the purpose of this trial like never before.
“External evil spirits surrounding us, rampant monsters, and constant internal conflict among the Human Race—this is the future of the Five Continents.” Fu Heng stepped up, appearing particularly calm, expressing what he believed to be the essence, “Only those who manage to bring out the inheritance in such a ruined future are the ones True Immortal Zhengyang seeks.”
You Su clenched his fists, feeling that Fu Heng’s analysis made sense for reasons he couldn’t fully comprehend.
This is the Celestial Awakening Spiritual Light, how could it be obtained purely by luck or being the strongest?
“True Immortal Zhengyang wants to ascend beyond the heavens but doesn’t want the people of the Five Continents to abandon their hope of purifying the mortal world, so he intends to hand over the Spiritual Light to the chosen one.”
Fu Heng continued to explain the madness of this trial, but You Su was frowning, feeling that Fu Heng had more to say:
“What are you trying to imply?”
“The evil tide has already surged in, we can’t bring the inheritance across it, but you can.” Fu Heng looked at You Su.
You Su was astonished, “Why can I?”
Fu Heng just smiled and then took out his Exorcism Order, shaking it:
“Many disciples of the Profound Sky Sect are part of the Exorcism Bureau, and all are aware of your Divine Son status. You keep a low profile in the Sect, but everyone knows your abilities.”
You Su’s greatest ability was, of course, dealing with evil spirits.
“You Su, you must take the inheritance out! I’ve worked so hard to protect it until now, sob sob…”
Zixun’s voice carried a bit of a sob, reluctantly holding onto her Qiankun Bag. Thinking of her struggles along the way, she felt extremely wronged, wishing more for You Su to protect it well.
“This was held by you, senior sister… how can I…”
You Su wanted to politely refuse, unsure if he could bear such a significant responsibility.
“What we hold is what you hold.” Si Han quickly interrupted You Su’s hesitation.
Though he did not hear the word ‘trust’ in their words, the demeanor and tone of these people all exuded confidence in him.
“He’s cultivating Gu! Only the one who gains the inheritance can survive!”
“Find Zixun out!!”
Amid the throng, someone hysterically yelled.
Such a massive chaos did not bring aid from True Immortal Zhengyang or cultivators outside, indicating everything was in the intended scope. With the external threat and internal strife, and the teleportation talismans failing, those wanting to survive turned their hope to the inheritance.
These screams made everyone in the Profound Sky Sect camp nervous, yet no one showed fear.
You Su bit his lip, foreseeing the dire situation his fellow disciples would soon face, while he would separate from them, escaping alone with the inheritance.
He struggled to describe his emotions, but the task of escorting the inheritance out must be completed, and if he could, he didn’t want to become the one to do it.
“The rules of True Immortal Zhengyang are clear; the trial won’t end until the one who obtains the inheritance leaves the island. So someone must take it out. This inheritance was taken by our Profound Sky Sect people, thus it should be sent out by us.”
After leaving that sentence, Fu Heng turned around. Though not physically robust, his back appeared particularly tall.
“We can go together!” You Su proposed. He wasn’t confident in protecting everyone but couldn’t bear to see them stay and wait for death.
Fu Heng shook his head, “Following you would just slow you down. Rest assured, I will do my utmost to gather everyone, holding this position is safer than entering the evil tide.”
None disagreed with his words, presumably having reached a consensus long ago. Even if they knew, this was a slow death.
Just then, Ji Xueruo, in You Su’s arms, suddenly awakened. Her clear eyes extraordinarily bright, like someone achieving enlightenment through profound thought.
“There’s still the Snake Ancestor! With its blessing here, evil spirits cannot approach!”
Ji Xueruo stood up from You Su’s embrace. Though previously appearing out of it, she had been listening to the conversation clearly.
You Su was somewhat surprised and quickly asked with concern, “Are you okay?”
Ji Xueruo found herself unaccustomed to You Su’s open concern in front of others, but given the urgent situation, there was no time to bicker. She shook her head and said:
“I’m fine. It was the Snake Ancestor responding to me earlier. Hurry up and go, stop dawdling! If you want to end this farce soon, run faster!”
“Yes, hurry up and leave! Don’t let others find out!”
Zixun pressed her Qiankun Bag into You Su’s arms without allowing him to refuse. Within it lay the ultimate mystery of this mystical island.
You Su hesitated in place, staring dazed at the black-skirted girl in front of him, having countless things he wished to say.
But the endless wails of the crowd around him were like alarms urging him to set off, and fear spread like a plague, leaving him speechless.
“See you in the Central Continent.”
Ji Xueruo understood the youth’s hesitance, giving him a reason to protect his life at all costs.
Upon hearing this, You Su nodded heavily, then turned and plunged into the crowd.
