Fairy, Don't Be Afraid, I Am Blind

Chapter 675 - 319: It’s Not a Misunderstanding, It’s Prejudice

In the midst of the battlefield, all the prodigies were temporarily forced back by the frenzied Fire Armadillo, save for Ao Yunlie, who held the front lines to buy everyone a moment to breathe.

Ao Yunlie had already transformed into his demon form, a majestic lion with a golden body. The most peculiar feature was the long string of tattoo-like, magnificent totems glowing brightly on the lion’s cheeks.

This was the most distinctive aspect of his demon form projection, and with these totems, the power of his most adept Mountain-Shaking Golden Lion Roar would be elevated further.

Thanks to this, he roared incessantly at the Fire Armadillo, the sound waves he generated surging like tangible forces, matching the relentless cries of the Fire Armadillo, a standoff between them. One lion and one armadillo met like two titanic beasts clashing in a narrow path.

Yet, behind the focused lion, Qu Zhaixing, dressed as a scholar, gathered cold light within his long sleeves, poised to strike Ao Yunlie’s back.

You Su’s heart instantly surged with waves, as if a chilling current was rushing toward him.

Somehow, he sensed something was wrong but couldn’t think clearly at the moment.

You Su immediately wanted to rush over to stop Qu Zhaixing, but the distance between him, Huo Ranhua, and Ao Yunlie was already vast, and only grew after focusing their attacks on the Fire Armadillo.

Now, trying to rescue was simply impossible to manage in time.

But there was no way You Su could sit by idly; without a second thought, he dashed toward the battlefield like thunder.

"Mr. Ao! Behind you!"

Faster than his figure was the sound!

The lion’s head whipped around, eyes glaring in anger, Qu Zhaixing’s hands were already inches away!

At this critical juncture, Ao Yunlie instantly reverted from his demon form back to his human form.

His human form was still the tallest among those present, yet the distance created from relinquishing his lion form was enough for this battle-hardened warrior to dodge Qu Zhaixing’s strike!

Ao Yunlie’s eyes were blood red, wielding the Wolf-toothed Club with the momentum of sweeping through thousands of armies, forcing the astonished Qu Zhaixing to retreat.

The clash between the two happened in a flash, but without Ao Yunlie’s hold, the briefly overlooked Fire Armadillo wouldn’t miss this fleeting chance. Thick smoke billowed from its mouth once more, and a world-destroying fire dragon surged forth again!

Like the descent of the apocalypse, the curtain of rain was torn to shreds by the fire dragon. Ao Yunlie and Qu Zhaixing stood before the Fire Armadillo, the firelight reflecting their bewildered faces; at such close range, there was simply no way to dodge.

With no time to react, the two were engulfed in the pillar of fire that twisted the air.

Everyone was shocked and dismayed, instinctively wanting to save them, but the rampaging fire dragon continued, forcing them to scatter to the sides, fearing the breath would spread to them.

At last, You Su arrived, not hesitating for a second; the Mo Song Sword drew a near-perfect semicircle in the air, darting straight for the Fire Armadillo’s face.

Sparks flew briefly where the blade scraped against the Fire Armadillo’s scale armor. You Su was shocked—though the Mo Song Sword wasn’t of Immortal Sword quality, he knew its sharpness well. How was the Fire Armadillo’s defense so formidable!

But You Su’s purpose wasn’t to break its defense; it was to draw its attention. Clearly, he succeeded!

Even though the Fire Armadillo continued to breathe out fire, it wasn’t aimed forward but instead tilted its head to drive away the annoying pest above.

The others realized it too—even though the breath was devastatingly fast, there was one place it couldn’t reach: above the Fire Armadillo’s head!

As the fire pillar moved away, both Ao Yunlie and Qu Zhaixing escaped the flames. They were now naked, bodies scorched black; raindrops hitting their torn flesh evaporated instantly. Both were on the verge of collapse, severely injured.

If not for You Su redirecting the Fire Armadillo’s scorching breath in time, the two might have ended up like the charred grass and trees.

"Qu Zhaixing! Are you courting death!"

Someone shouted from the crowd—it was Ao Yu among the ranged ranks.

He had seen everything that just happened, and now charged forward furiously, two Golden Light Seals forming in his hands, intent on crushing Qu Zhaixing to dust.

But Qu Zhaixing’s followers weren’t going to let it happen without a fight, leaping out to stop Ao Yu.

"Demon Race, you dare!"

Though Ao Yu was incandescent with rage, ultimately two fists were not enough to fend off multiple hands, and he was forcibly blocked by several heavy strikes.

"Get out of my way!"

Ao Yu was now at his limit of anger, deeply respected his brother who was fighting for them, yet these treacherous Human Race individuals took the chance to betray, filling him with resentment and sorrow.

His form began to swell, and he turned instantly into a golden lion resembling Ao Yunlie, unleashing a similarly deafening roar. The only difference from Ao Yunlie was that the golden color on his body wasn’t as vibrant and sacred.

In the sky appeared a church-sized white crane, letting out a cry. As it spread its enormous wings, hundreds of crane feathers shot forth. This crane was none other than Miss He from the Snow Feather Crane Race, transformed into her demon form.

With the combined strike of the two demons, the few Cultivators in front of him were instantly forced back.

The remaining few Demon Race cultivators gathered as well, each demon full of caution and hostility in their eyes.

Even the Saint Heir leapt up, blocking in front of the demons.
