Fairy, Don't Be Afraid, I Am Blind

Chapter 660 - 313: What Is Their Relationship?

  • Next Chapter

The four people who were previously with him had their confidence shaken by Ao Yunlie’s arrival. However, seeing Ming Dao taking things seriously now, they regained their composure, turning the situation into a five-on-five standoff.

Ao Yu was eager to give it a try, even though he had just broken through to the Condensed Water Upper Realm. He had his own skills and pride; Miss He naturally retracted her serene demeanor, as this was a racial dispute. Her realm wasn’t high, but she wouldn’t back down; Ao Yunlie’s aura heightened, thrilled by the long-awaited opportunity to battle a prodigy of the Human Race!

But just when everyone thought that Ao Yunlie and Ming Dao would be the kings battling each other, the two figures in black moved.

It turned out to be You Su charging forward with his sword, accompanied by Ji Xueruo whose sleeves were filled with snakes!

And their target was none other than Ming Dao on the tree branch!

"Brother... what does this mean?"

Ao Yu was bewildered, thinking it was supposed to be my brother fighting this sissy, why are you two jumping in?

Ao Yunlie was also taken aback, wearing a confused expression of ’I have no idea.’

But for Ming Dao, it wasn’t so easy. Seeing two Condensed Water Lower Realm cultivators attacking him simultaneously, his expression became grave. He lowered his posture, and the Rain Listening Sword sliced down along with his movement, like a roaring wave!

"The ’Tidal Wave’ from the Rain Listening Sword Scripture, he’s mastered it to such a brilliant level!" Ao Yunlie’s eyes showed astonishment.

"What are these two doing delivering themselves to him!"

Ao Yu was anxiously exasperated. He didn’t understand how powerful the Tidal Wave sword was; he only knew that these two didn’t know when to stop. With Ming Dao making it clear that he wanted to fight for real, how could they think they could gain any advantage?

"Not necessarily," Ao Yunlie furrowed his brow, unexpectedly eager to see what these two could accomplish.

To his surprise, the boy in black and the girl in the black dress really couldn’t withstand the sword move and were both sent flying back more than ten meters.

"You could have torn the letter and left the island while I was sparring with Mr. Ao, but instead, you choose to come and die?"

Ming Dao looked down on the two from afar, his voice somewhat gritted, as if his patience with these two foolish opponents had reached its limit.

But who would have thought the boy and girl seemed not to hear him at all and instead started arguing amongst themselves.

"Why are you in my way? If you hadn’t been in front of me, would I have been sent flying so far?" The girl in the black dress pouted, her tone accusatory.

"If Miss Xueruo hadn’t been pulling me from behind, I would have broken his sword force with that strike." The boy in black spoke confidently, poised to rush again.

Ji Xueruo felt speechless but used Qi Control to hold back You Su. "He’s my opponent, why are you blocking my way?"

"He wants to kill you, so I have to kill him."

"I don’t need you to step in! I can handle him myself! He said he wanted to fight a prodigy of the Demon Race, why are you showing off?"

"You listened to that? He tries to elevate personal grievances to the level of racial hostility to mask his hatred, how petty. I must kill him!"

"He provoked me, so I should be the one to kill him!"

"He also provoked me, if you kill him, who will I kill?"

The two of them went back and forth, entangling each other, with neither rushing in, acting more like quarreling lovers ignoring Ming Dao like he was some roadside cabbage.

Ao Yu and Ao Yunlie looked at each other, feeling today’s spectacle was truly eye-opening.

"Mr. Ao, are they... close?"

Miss He found herself stunned by the scene, suddenly very curious about the relationship between these two.

Ao Yunlie looked at Ming Dao’s increasingly grim face in the distance and speculated:

"This is Ji Xueruo, the Clan Leader of the Snake Race, an emerging talent of the Demon Race. Her sister Ji Lingruo is the third disciple under Lotus Sword Venerable of the Profound Sky Sect, which makes her this Mr. You’s junior sister... in terms of relations, they do have some familial ties."

"I see, no wonder he rushed in faster than us." Ao Yu looked enlightened.

Miss He, however, raised an eyebrow, a sister of his junior sister?

But her instinct as a woman told her their relationship wasn’t that simple...

"Enough!"

Ming Dao shouted angrily, interrupting the pair’s squabble.

The veins on his gaunt face bulged, clearly enraged to the extreme:

"You are You Su?"

He had naturally heard all of Ao Yu and the others’ conversation just now.

You Su, suddenly called out, held his sword and replied, "So what if I am?"

"Good! I’ve long heard of a new sword genius from the Zhongyuan Continent, never thought we’d meet so soon!" Ming Dao’s gaze swept over the group of demons, "It seems you are determined to collude with the Demon Race!"

"Don’t speak nonsense! We of the Demon Race don’t want someone who only boasts and causes trouble!"

Ji Xueruo responded earnestly, taking a step to the left, as if trying to distance herself from You Su.

You Su felt a tinge of disappointment, but more so, moved. Because that step Ji Xueruo took was clearly to protect him.

Here there were five people, his identity was exposed, and he was inevitably standing on the opposite side of these people. If these people tore the letter to leave the island and exaggeratedly spread the news of him colluding with the Demon Race to confront the prodigy of the Human Race, it would surely be a severe blow to his reputation and even to the reputation of his master and the Profound Sky Sect.

"Calling you a petty person isn’t an overstatement, I can’t accept such an accusation." You Su’s fighting spirit was high, he said loudly, "The first article of the Human-Demon Pact states that slaughter between races is not allowed based on race alone! This lady holds no personal grudges with you, yet you want to annihilate her just because she’s a demon. I help her, not for her sake, but to uphold the sacredness of this inviolable pact!"

You Su’s stance was firm, as if he exuded a glow of justice.

Ji Xueruo squinted playfully, thinking that he indeed was still his same self.
