Fairy, Don't Be Afraid, I Am Blind
Chapter 657 - 312: What Does His Strength Have to Do With You?
The half moon hangs high in the sky, and the island is swept by a great nighttime wind.
The slender girl’s black skirt flutters, her long hair cascading down like a waterfall.
Her eyes sweep calmly across everyone around her, and even surrounded by five people, there is no fear in her gaze, but rather a defiant light shining forth.
"You didn’t tear the invitation letter?"
The cultivator standing opposite the young girl has an androgynous appearance, almost indistinguishable in gender, yet his demeanor is quite elegant. One hand is held behind his back with his sword, and the other rests on his abdomen, paired with a Seven Stars robe, displaying an air of nobility.
"Why tear it?"
The black-skirted girl retorts coldly, her voice like cold springs flowing down a mountainside.
"You managed to hold us for an instant, but not to tear the letter and escape, instead you crushed a bone?"
One of the five looks at the bone dust blowing away in the wind from the girl’s hand, confused.
"Demon Race tricks, could it be some secret technique?"
A beautiful female cultivator gave the black-skirted girl an oddly disdainful look, quietly reminding the androgynous male cultivator beside her.
The tall male cultivator beside, rubbing the bone dust in his hand, said, "It’s just an ordinary bone, nothing unusual. Even with secret techniques, being merely in the Condensed Water Lower Realm, she can’t escape."
"Why are you so sure I’ll flee? Just because it’s five against one?" The black-skirted girl scans them, unimpressed.
"Using many against few isn’t my wish, but you’re a demon, dealing with demons doesn’t require Human Race etiquette." The androgynous male cultivator’s voice is sharp, yet his eyes rare in their seriousness, "If I’m not wrong, you crushed a bone of the giant Sea Spirit Ginseng."
"What else could be expected from a disciple of Qiming Sect from the Nanyang Continent? Quite knowledgeable." The black-skirted girl sneered.
The status of the Qiming Sect from Nanyang Continent matches that of the Profound Sky Sect from Zhongyuan Continent. Given Beiao Continent’s harshness and West Wilderness Continent’s desolation, these two sects born in prosperous lands are the strongest sects of this era.
"Ming Dao senior brother, what is the giant Sea Spirit Ginseng?" the beautiful female cultivator asked curiously.
"A very mystical divine beast, long extinct. It’s said to have over ten thousand bones in its body, each connected to the others, destroy one and the rest will mourn. This system doesn’t require any Profound Qi or array, thus an absolutely reliable communication tool."
The androgynous male, called Ming Dao, patiently explained to the woman, who glared at the black-skirted girl with disdain, urging, "Demons are indeed insidious! Ming Dao senior brother, shouldn’t we hurry and kill her?"
The other three male cultivators echoed her, poised to strike.
This Celestial Awakening Island is full of restriction techniques, blocking all communication methods declared before entering, yet who knew the Demon Race had such treasures.
With such an item, could they not ensure faster assembly into effective forces than the Human Race?
"No hurry." Ming Dao stopped the three who were ready to charge.
He swung his sword, and suddenly, the tall male cultivator felt a chill on his lower leg, his pants cut open, letting in the cold wind.
Stunned, about to ask the sword wielder, he saw a white little snake on the ground split in two and then dissipate like smoke.
"You’re courting death!"
The tall male cultivator was furious, his eyes burning with a desire to tear the black-skirted girl apart, yet deep in his gaze, a hint of fear lingered.
The other three quickly checked their feet, not expecting this demon girl to dare play tricks under the noses of four Condensed Water Lower Realm cultivators and one at Water Condensation Perfection.
Ming Dao looked down on the black-skirted girl, "Seems like the Demon Race spares no expense for your legacy. Such precious treasure, more typically used to ambush our Human cultivators in battle, was given to you juniors."
"Isn’t this a battlefield?" The black-skirted girl cheekily retorted.
"No." Ming Dao shook his head, "This is a slaughterhouse."
He raised his sword, its blade glowing, silver under the moon:
"When your demon race reinforcements arrive, I’ll send you all to death together."
The black-skirted girl also restrained her defiant expression, knowing that among the five surrounding her, only this androgynous personality was the real challenge:
"I have just one question for you."
"Ask." Ming Dao’s Seven Stars robe billowed, the seven stars on his chest subtly shimmering.
"What’s the reason for such profound hatred towards the Demon Race?"
Ming Dao hesitated slightly, then lowered his sword:
"There is."
The black-skirted girl heard this, her lips curling confidently, as if unlocking the final constraint.
Her stance towards the Human Race is far less hateful than others in the Demon Race, if there were any room for maneuver, she wouldn’t wish to completely sever ties with the Human Race.
But given the other party’s animosity toward the entire Demon Race for certain reasons, it’s inevitable conflict. She won’t compromise excessively either.
Under the night, the five’s offensive brought gusts of wind, the Profound Qi radiating colorful light through the woods, resembling hunters encircling prey trapped within their grasp.
"Over there!"
Ao Yu shouted anxiously.
Ao Yunlie stood on a treetop, looking at the sudden burst of colors ahead with a grave expression.
He is a battle-hardened man, capable of sensing the complexity of both sides from the echoes of the fight.
"Those Human cultivators are besieging a demon cultivator!"
The straightforward Ao Yu immediately dissected the situation, angrily grinding his teeth, quickly attempting a rescue.
"Do not move rashly!"
Ao Yunlie held his clan brother’s shoulder back, observing the fierce sword stance within the lights, reminiscent of a torrential downpour.
