Facing an Ancient God for a Year
Chapter 2812 - 2807: I’m Not Sick
Chapter 2812: Chapter 2807: I’m Not Sick
[Task Evaluation: I’m not Sick]
The reminder of containment success arrived on schedule, as the peaceful Demon Mountain quietly faded away in the background.
The screen shifted from light to dark, as Fu Qian successfully returned to the warehouse that offered substantial support, taking his seat.
Yet, the ensuing task evaluation sounded somewhat—
[The best way to prove to a doctor that you’re not sick is to turn the doctor into a patient.
Unfortunately, the young Laxik did not grasp this concept.
From the first day she found herself trapped in a predicament, she used every method to prove herself.
Kindness, harmlessness, rationality... even the dark yet humane little schemes.
However, in this process, she gradually realized there was a force controlling the entire sanatorium, and she even touched upon multiple dark corners of human nature.
The world began to feel unreal; everyone seemed to be living within lies, thus hiding the monster inside.
And upon realizing that time could actually be swayed by the darkness of human nature, Laxik’s fear escalated to the extreme.
She could no longer discern which were her true thoughts, including the urge to leave.
Staying here maybe isn’t so bad?
Unable to accept such notions appearing, she finally ignored the warnings of her inner self and used that key, followed by the notes in the safe.
This behavior ultimately led her to ruin, and even if her eyes were to open again, the person sent away from the sanatorium, was it still her?
In contrast, even with the Judgement Sword hanging overhead, you skillfully avoided traps to enjoy a bizarre sense of peace in the sanatorium.
Then, adopting the most difficult yet reliable method, you violently dispelled every force that tried to detain you.
Of course, most notably, when confronting the Truth Note, you never even once verified if it truly had a Transcendent effect; as long as it was "useful," that was enough.
This madness and transcendence especially granted you recognition, because truth was not the essence of the note, lies were.
This is also why the sediment from the Sea of Souls could manipulate the cage projected by it.]
[Kill: None]
[Reward: SAN Points +20]
[Special Reward: Annalise’s Lie]
[Current SAN Points: 155]

...
Seems like there isn’t content that concerns me most here, or maybe it’s too sensitive?
After quietly listening to the entire summary, although theoretically it received a high evaluation, Fu Qian still sighed inwardly at one point.
Apart from this somewhat nonsensical title, the task summary frankly contained quite a lot of information.
Primarily perhaps due to my in-depth exploration of the side storyline, a significant portion surprisingly focuses on Miss Laxik.
From start to finish, it vividly depicts her mental journey.
The specific operations were indeed similar to what I understood, and I could thus ascertain Servis didn’t lie.
After the individual was played to ruin, he really did send her away.
Besides, evidently Laxik is different from me, lacking the threat of judgement day, she merely needed a way out of her predicament.
Additionally, one subtle sentence, "Is the person leaving the sanatorium still her?" seems to implicitly answer a prior question—if not the Administrator, why would Laxik be thrown into the sanatorium?
It sounds as though this place was fashioned into some sort of labor reform site, allowing Laxik’s "self" to undergo transformation after some torment.
Like taking a walk in lies, she can no longer discern which thoughts are truly hers.
So, intentionally processed in this manner, then tossed towards virtue?
...
This is quite tragic, but the question is: what benefit lies in processing them again?
At one point, Laxik’s pity index soared once more; amid Fu Qian’s sighing, the answer seemed temporarily elusive.
However, this notion of "lies" has to be said, it’s quite intriguing.
"The essence of the Truth Note isn’t truth, but lies"?
This statement is extraordinary, rather subverting cognition, even accompanying a slight alteration in the Abyssal Chronicle.
Yet, the task summary stated it quite seriously, even explaining why the Well of Time issue exists—
The sanatorium itself is a projection of the Truth Note, whereas the latter is not the pure entity imagined, but a concoction tangled with lies.
So much so that the "sediment" from the Sea of Souls could sway the projected time.
The sediment here sounds a bit abrupt at first, but upon reconsideration, it’s actually easy to understand—the darkness in human hearts within the sanatorium.
Thus, it appears that elements cautiously avoided along the way were once again related to the Sea of Souls.
No wonder the tone is so dark.
Also, it seems during the task process, I accidentally achieved a special feat—failing to test the performance of the Truth Note.
Put simply, throughout, I never wrote anything that had been erased by it.
So much so that as previously marveled, swapping the Truth Note for any ordinary booklet might yield no difference in its effect?
This truly is a significant accomplishment for such an item.
Though this wasn’t mere coincidence.
Indeed, although not too intentionally maintained, Fu Qian did deliberately act so.
The sanatorium felt off, and the notes appearing in the safe felt even more peculiar.
Therefore, having long planned how to utilize it, Fu Qian, realizing there was seemingly no need to verify its authenticity, decisively chose not to verify.
No matter how leisurely it appeared, in critical areas, one must not be careless.
This is touching the Transcendent in a Mortal’s body, any unnecessary action might subject oneself to manipulation.
All in all, perhaps this also aligns with "opportunities are for the prepared."
Only wondering whether this special accomplishment will slightly elevate the reward’s content?
After all, SAN Points haven’t increased at all; after all the exertion, they rather decreased.
Besides this, it’s the previously mentioned biggest regret—no content related to dates at all?
Indeed, for Fu Qian, tirelessly operating along the way, arduously excavating all information, was partly due to professionalism, but another extra reason existed—the time when the task started was on the 48th day.
If calculated correctly, aside from the two extra tasks created personally, the warehouse allocated a numbered containment item, precisely the 48th one.
Is it really purely coincidental?
If not a pure coincidence, then 13 days after Judgment Day, what special meaning might it hold?
Do I only have 13 tasks worth of time left? Or 13 days?
