Chapter 577: Chapter 565: The Lei Sisters’ Sudden Realization

"Water Monarch Fang Bin!"

"Water Monarch Fang Bin!"

"Water Monarch Fang Bin!"

Fang Bin’s fluid series of movements sent the morale of the White Camp soaring once again, with cheers echoing throughout the entire arena. The greatest strength of the Water Attribute was, after all, control! And this Dragon-Catching Lamp was without a doubt a High-tier High-tier Combat Skill, comparable to Mu Chen’s Absolute Zero!

"Dragon-Catching Lamp?"

The name sounded familiar not only to Chu Aoqing, but to the Lei Sisters as well. Yet for the life of them, they couldn’t recall any specific details about the Dragon-Catching Lamp.

"The Dragon-Catching Lamp. An Earth Rank Peak Water Attribute Control Battle Technique." Mu Junwu’s expression was tinged with worry as she watched Mu Chen on the screen. She shook her head and said, "I remember this Combat Skill being one commonly used by the Tingyu Pavilion."

"Now that you mention it, Sister Jun Wu, I remember," Chu Aoqing said, realization dawning on her. "It is indeed one of Tingyu Pavilion’s strongest control Combat Skills. But Fang Bin isn’t from the Tingyu Pavilion, is he?"

Mu Junwu nodded. "You’re right, he’s not from Tingyu Pavilion. However, Tingyu Pavilion is the only one of the Nine Great Influences composed primarily of women. Quite a few of their members marry into other families, and every one of them is wed to someone extraordinary. This Fang Bin is likely a descendant of some great family in the Central State, so it wouldn’t be difficult for him to learn the Dragon-Catching Lamp. But this puts Mu Chen in a tough spot. The Dragon-Catching Lamp not only has incredible physical and Primordial Power resilience, but it can also block space. If Mu Chen’s short-range Instant Teleportation Body Technique is spatial in nature, then the outcome of this fight hangs in the balance."

As she spoke, both women kept their eyes locked on Mu Chen. He seemed to have given up, standing inside the Dragon-Catching Lamp with his arms hanging limply at his sides, meeting Fang Bin’s gaze.

Fang Bin stared at Mu Chen, his gaze sharp. A small smile touched his lips. "What do you think? My Dragon-Catching Lamp isn’t something someone at your realm can shatter. Surrender."

Mu Chen nodded. "It’s a powerful control Combat Skill, but not enough to make me surrender."

"Hm?"

Before Fang Bin could react, a smirk played on Mu Chen’s lips. With a mere thought, the dozen or so streaks of Purple Gold Lightning he had scattered at the start of the battle flared with a dazzling light. He closed his eyes, locked onto one of them, and his figure abruptly vanished, disappearing from inside the Dragon-Catching Lamp in an instant.

With a sharp CRACKLE of lightning, the Lei Sisters’ pupils contracted. Looks of utter disbelief spread across their faces. But they weren’t the only ones; an atmosphere of profound shock now permeated the entire arena.

"Sister! That’s—!" Lei Yue’er was the first to cry out.

"The Divine Hall’s Secret Technique! Furious Thunder Force!" Lei Yun’Er’s voice was grave, and her expression had darkened to match.

"Furious Thunder Force?"

Mu Junwu’s eyes widened slightly. "Isn’t that the Core Secret Technique of the Thunder God Hall? I thought I heard a rumor that their version of Furious Thunder Force was incomplete."

Lei Yun’Er took a long, hard look at Mu Chen on the screen before nodding grimly. "Since it’s you asking, Sister Jun Wu, I won’t hide the truth. Our Thunder God Hall’s Core Secret Technique, Furious Thunder Force, is far more than just incomplete. The version our clan possesses is barely a third of the original."

"One-third?"

Sighing, Lei Yun’Er’s gaze on Mu Chen grew complicated. "That’s right, only a third. And it’s the most useless part, the defensive technique, which we call the Yuzi Technique. The two-thirds we lost were the most destructive parts of Furious Thunder Force: the Attack Technique and the Instant Body Technique. The first is the Blast Rune Technique, and the second is the Moving Character Technique. If you master both of those, the defensive technique becomes completely redundant. With the Moving Character Technique, an ordinary person couldn’t even lay a finger on you."

Mu Junwu mulled this over for a moment. "So you believe that Mu Chen’s Body Technique, the one that resembles Instant Teleportation, is the Moving Character Technique from Furious Thunder Force?"

Lei Yue’er jumped in. "I’m positive! It has to be the Moving Character Technique!"

But as she said that, Lei Yue’er suddenly gasped. "Wait, Sister Jun Wu, what did you just call him? Mu Chen?"

Mu Junwu nodded, a slight smile on her face. "Yes, Calamity is Mu Chen. Why? Is he famous?"

Lei Yun’Er stared at Mu Junwu, equally stunned. "Famous?" she murmured. "Calling him a Legend wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Now I finally understand how he had the guts to announce a twenty-match king-of-the-hill series."

Mu Junwu shot a questioning look at Chu Aoqing. She had a feeling she was being left out of the loop on something important.

Chu Aoqing cleared her throat, her tone helpless. "Hey, you can’t blame me. Mu Chen told me not to bring it up, so I didn’t tell you. But since you’re asking, I’ll tell you now. Before he came to stay with you, Mu Chen fought a battle against Shan Tianyu."

These words stunned Mu Junwu. Shan Tianyu... she knew exactly what kind of person he was. A Venerable Realm Martial Artist! He was an absolute powerhouse, ranked among the very best even within the entire Inner Mountain! And she also knew what kind of condition Mu Chen had been in two months ago. That was precisely why she couldn’t comprehend why Mu Chen would do something so utterly illogical.

"And the result?" Mu Junwu pressed her temples. She was starting to realize, with a sense of helplessness, that even after spending two months with Mu Chen, she still knew next to nothing about him.

"In the end, Shan Tianyu lost." It wasn’t Chu Aoqing who answered, but Lei Yun’Er. She continued, "I wasn’t on the first floor that day; this is just what I heard from others. I was skeptical at first, too, but everyone who came back from the first floor that day told the exact same story. Even the instructors confirmed it. Shan Tianyu really lost!"

"Something like that really happened?" Even Mu Junwu, who hadn’t been truly shocked in years, couldn’t help but gasp. As she looked back at the screen, her gaze seemed to pierce through Mu Chen’s mask, seeing the incredibly confident face hidden beneath.

’I was worried for nothing.’

...

On the screen, Fang Bin stood frozen, staring blankly at the empty Dragon-Catching Lamp, a storm of emotions churning within him. He hadn’t immediately tried to locate Mu Chen after he vanished. This was his strongest control Combat Skill, one he had used out of fear of Mu Chen’s Absolute Zero, hoping to end the fight in a single blow. Who could have known that Mu Chen possessed an Instant Teleportation technique that ignored spatial restraints?

’It looks like if he decides to drag this out, I’ll never be able to outlast him.’ The thought left Fang Bin slightly dazed. It had seemed like he held the upper hand the entire fight, forcing Mu Chen into a steady retreat. But thinking back, he realized the one at a disadvantage wasn’t Mu Chen, but himself. He hadn’t even managed to figure out Mu Chen’s Martial Arts Realm.

’Am I going to lose here?’ The thought had barely surfaced before Fang Bin crushed it. ’What a joke! I’m Fang Bin! The Water Monarch Fang Bin! How could I possibly lose to some rookie whose name I don’t even know!’

The words had barely left his mouth when a sharp, azure light flared in Fang Bin’s eyes. He thrust out his right arm, palm open. A water-blue, drop-shaped sigil in his palm suddenly erupted with brilliant light, instantly expanding into a massive Summoning Array Map. As the Array Map spun, a vast aura of Primordial Power poured through from the other side.

The next moment, a turquoise hoof emerged from the Array Map. As it stepped into the air, the space around it rippled like the surface of a still lake disturbed by a pebble. A head resembling that of a Qilin appeared next. It was entirely azure, its face covered in both dark and light green markings. Atop its head, a flowing mane like a curtain of water swayed gently, shimmering like mist with a crystalline light.

When its full form was revealed, Mu Chen, watching from a distance, was taken aback. The moment the Magical Beast appeared, the image of a Water Qilin surfaced in his mind.

In terms of appearance alone, the Magical Beast—about five meters tall and seven meters long, with the body of a horse, a Dragon Tail, and the head of a Qilin—looked like it had been cast from the very same mold as a Water Qilin. It had no horns, however, so Mu Chen concluded that it wasn’t a true Water Qilin, but merely a Magical Beast that possessed its Bloodline Power.
