Chapter 540 - 530: Dragon Soul Pill and Flame Dragon Blood
Chapter 540: Chapter 530: Dragon Soul Pill and Flame Dragon Blood
The words had barely left his mouth when Dilaka’s figure vanished from behind the desk. Just two breaths later, he reappeared before Mu Chen. But this time was different; Dilaka now held two golden medicine bottles and was watching him with a mischievous grin. Mu Chen, however, didn’t look at Dilaka. His full attention was fixed on the two bottles in his hand. The bottles weren’t large, but a thick mist drifted around their exteriors—a mist that was dense and did not disperse, a truly magical sight.
As the saying goes, a layman watches the show, but an expert sees the skill. The moment he saw this mist, Mu Chen’s mouth dropped open into an "O."
"That’s Pill Mist!"
Pill Mist was a characteristic that only manifested on Top Grade Elixirs. However, for an elixir to become a Top Grade Elixir, the first and foremost requirement was its own grade. Only elixirs of the Fifth Grade or higher even had a chance. And while grade was a prerequisite, the most critical factor was the Cauldron Master’s alchemy technique. To be specific, if an Alchemist’s skills weren’t refined enough, they might not be able to create an elixir that produced Pill Mist, even if they were a Holy Mark Tripod Master. Conversely, if one’s alchemy technique was exceptionally exquisite, even a Golden Tripod Master could refine a Top Grade Elixir that produced Pill Mist.
Mu Chen could now deduce two things. First, the elixirs in these two bottles were no lower than the Sixth Grade. Second, the Cauldron Master who had refined them was absolutely extraordinary!
"So you know about Pill Mist. It seems you have a deep understanding of Cauldron Masters. Correct. These are Top Grade Elixirs. Their name is the Dragon Soul Pill!"
"Dragon Soul Pill?!" Mu Chen’s face paled in shock. "It’s actually the Dragon Soul Pill?"
Detailed information on the elixir surfaced in his mind: Dragon Soul Pill, a peak Seventh-Grade elixir. It could rapidly increase one’s physical strength with zero side effects. However, absorption was extremely slow for the average person. Consuming a single pill required a full month of fiery refinement to be completely digested. If paired with Flame Dragon Blood for both external and internal use, its Medicinal Power could be fully absorbed within a week. The higher the grade of the Flame Dragon Blood, the faster the rate of absorption.
Main ingredients: Tier Seven Earth Dragon Blood, Tier Seven Flying Dragon Blood, Tier Seven Wandering Dragon Blood, Dragon-Suppressing Grass, Hidden Dragon Ganoderma, Dragon-Suppressing Leaf...
As the list of ingredients surfaced in his mind, the corner of Mu Chen’s mouth twitched. Why? Because while these ingredients weren’t as impossible to find as the Stone Immortal or the Seven-Colored Glaze, they were, without a doubt, located in the most dangerous places on the Extreme Martial Continent. The Dragon-Suppressing Grass, the Hidden Dragon Ganoderma, and the Dragon-Suppressing Leaf were all invariably guarded by members of the Dragon Race of at least Tier Seven. One couldn’t even dream of obtaining these three medicinal herbs without a Cultivation at or above the Venerable Realm.
Furthermore, it required the blood of all those types of dragons—at Tier Seven! This was a major turning point for the Dragon Race. Before Tier Seven, a draconic Magical Beast might be strong, but it wasn’t truly terrifying, as it was still in its juvenile stage. But once a dragon broke through to Tier Seven, it entered adulthood, and its combat power would increase exponentially! Even three Venerables of the same rank attacking together might not gain the slightest advantage.
These two requirements alone were enough to deter more than ninety percent of the Cauldron Masters on the Extreme Martial Continent. Thus, any Cauldron Master who wished to refine a Dragon Soul Pill would often have to hire Martial Dao experts to gather the ingredients, offering an exorbitant reward just for the chance to even attempt it.
On the market, the Dragon Soul Pill was an item with a price but no stock—a single one was unobtainable even for a million gold. Yet, to his astonishment, Dilaka had casually produced two full bottles. Judging by the size of a Dragon Soul Pill, those two medicine bottles must contain at least twenty pills between them.
"Hehe. A welcome gift for my closed-door disciple can’t be anything shabby. It just so happens that you need to strengthen your physique, so your teacher will give you these two bottles of Dragon Soul Pills. And here, catch this too."
As he spoke, Dilaka tossed the two bottles of Dragon Soul Pills to Mu Chen. Then, he retrieved a blood-red flask from his Storage Space. A scorching, bloody aura instantly filled the entire office. In a flash, the room felt like a furnace. Even with Mu Chen’s proficiency with his purple flames, he was drenched in sweat and found the heat unbearable.
"This is Flame Dragon Blood I acquired while traveling in my youth. The rank is passable, I suppose. It came from an Earth Flame Dragon King that had just entered the Saint Realm. Since you know the name Dragon Soul Pill, you must also know its function. If you were to rely on your body alone to absorb them, more than twenty pills would take you two years to digest. But with this Saint Realm Flame Dragon Blood, you can probably absorb it all in just one month. If I recall correctly, your allotted cultivation time is exactly one month, so this will speed things up considerably."
Looking at the Dragon Soul Pills and Flame Dragon Blood that Dilaka had handed him, Mu Chen felt a sting in his nose. Dilaka was the third master he had encountered in his life, and in his memory, every one of them had been completely devoted to him, never holding anything back. More than twenty Dragon Soul Pills and Saint Realm Flame Dragon Blood... either one of these treasures, let alone both, could trigger a massive upheaval in any corner of the Extreme Martial Continent.
In fact, a mere ten Dragon Soul Pills would be enough to serve as the foundational treasure for establishing a mid-sized sect. And yet, Dilaka had just given all of this to him, asking for nothing in return.
"Master..."
Dilaka smiled faintly and patted Mu Chen’s shoulder. "You’re not a child. Hurry and put it away, or my office is going to suffer for it."
Just as he said that, the smell of something scorching reached Mu Chen’s nose. A quick glance revealed that it was the books in Dilaka’s office. Startled, Mu Chen hastily stored the Flame Dragon Blood in his Storage Ring.
’The temperature... is actually that high.’
The thought that he would have to apply something this hot directly to his skin made Mu Chen smile wryly. ’It probably won’t hurt too much, right?’ he thought to himself.
But dreams are one thing, and reality is another. Only when Mu Chen actually began his Body Forging would he learn the meaning of true hell.
Once the Flame Dragon Blood was put away, the temperature in the office plummeted, making the room feel refreshingly cool by comparison. Dilaka glanced at Mu Chen. "It’s nighttime, and you can’t rest here. How about this: I’ll take you back to your dorm. First thing tomorrow morning, I’ll bring you to the Eternal Holy Domain on Eternal Saint Peak. During your Cultivation, I’ll have Chu Aoqing and one other person supervise you to make sure nothing unexpected happens."
Mu Chen nodded, having no objections. He was actually eager to start his Cultivation immediately, but he knew he needed to prepare first. Besides, there were a few things he needed to ask Xiaohai. It would all have to wait until he returned.
「Half a minute later.」
Mu Chen and Dilaka appeared in the sky above the first-level dormitories of the Inner Mountain. Dilaka tore open a rift in space and said to Mu Chen, "When you wake up tomorrow morning, just activate your ring, and I’ll bring you to Eternal Saint Peak."
With those parting words, Dilaka turned and stepped into the Spatial Rift, vanishing into the void.
"Thank you, Master."
Gazing at the spot where Dilaka had vanished, Mu Chen whispered his thanks. He stomped his foot, and with a FIZZ, a bolt of purple lightning shot down into his dormitory. With a thought, Mu Chen’s figure vanished and reappeared inside the first-floor hall. The hall was pitch-black, without a single speck of light.
’Senior Sister must be asleep.’
With a soft sigh, Mu Chen sat down on one of the plush chairs in the hall. His room was occupied, so this was the only place he could stay. At least he had a seat. Bathed in the moonlight filtering through the window, the scene looked rather desolate.
CLICK...
Just then, the entire hall suddenly lit up. The sound of soft footsteps echoed from the stairs leading to the second floor. Mu Chen turned to look, and for a moment his mind went blank. Then, an exquisitely beautiful figure began to descend the staircase.
She was remarkably tall and slender. A form-fitting white silk dress showcased her perfect, curvaceous figure. Long purple hair draped over her shoulders, with long sidelocks falling to her chest, swaying with an elegant grace and noble bearing as she moved.
Her long, slender legs, fair and flawless, were faintly visible with each step she took. Even more surprisingly, she wasn’t wearing any shoes. Her feet, like twin works of art, seemed crystalline and translucent under the bright lights. Her steps were weightless, and in a heartbeat, she was standing before Mu Chen.
"S-Senior Sister, you’re still awake?" Mu Chen rubbed his nose awkwardly. The sight of Chu Aoqing had reminded him of that one intimate night. It wasn’t that Mu Chen had a dirty mind; he was just eighteen and full of youthful vigor. It was hard for any normal man to look upon such a beauty and not have a single stray thought.
"Am I beautiful?" Chu Aoqing lifted the hem of her dress with one hand, did a half-twirl, and asked as she presented her profile to him.
"Er..." Mu Chen froze. Chu Aoqing wasn’t wearing much underneath the dress, so when she presented her profile, his eyes were subconsciously drawn to her firm, rounded backside, made all the more alluring by the white silk. From this angle, her perfect proportions and the outline of her long, slender legs were even more pronounced.
"Cat got your tongue?" Chu Aoqing looked at the dumbfounded Mu Chen and chuckled softly. His expression had already told her everything she needed to know.
"Of course you do. You’re one of the goddesses of the Inner Mountain, after all," Mu Chen said with a smile, rubbing his nose. "But I seem to remember you saying you didn’t like wearing dresses."
"Hm? I did say that. But not liking them doesn’t mean I never wear them," Chu Aoqing said, tilting her head with a smile. "I’ve prepared a room for you—the Cultivation Room. You won’t have to sleep on a plush chair anymore."
"Huh?" This was a pleasant surprise. Mu Chen smiled happily and was just about to thank her when a vast torrent of Primordial Power condensed above and pressed down with a thunderous roar. Chu Aoqing’s brow furrowed. The space beside her tore open, and the ancient sword, Tai’e, appeared in her hand, its seal already broken.
"So they’ve come?" A grin spread across Mu Chen’s lips as he looked up at the sky.
