Chapter 530 - 520: Titan Giant Ape and Titan Giant Rock (Part 2)
Chapter 530: Chapter 520: Titan Giant Ape and Titan Giant Rock (Part 2)
More importantly, they were highly intelligent! They could use all sorts of bizarre methods to escape capture, pursuit, and ambush by humans. Throughout history, humanity had always held the upper hand in the struggle against Magical Beasts. But against the Titan Giant Ape, they had suffered one defeat after another. At least tens of thousands of powerful human experts had been killed by Titan Giant Apes, yet the number of apes that had fallen into human hands could be counted on one hand.
Fortunately, their reproductive rate was abysmal. There were no more than a hundred Titan Giant Apes in the entire Extreme Martial Continent, with males making up ninety percent of that number. As a result, humanity had given up the fight against them. As long as the apes didn’t cause too much trouble, humans simply gave them a wide berth.
However, the second type of inheritor of the most powerful bloodlines wasn’t a Beast Type at all. They were pure elements. Magical Beasts formed from a single element were known by humans as Elemental Magical Beasts, and a powerful existence from the Titan Series was ranked among them: the Titan Giant Rock.
That’s right. As its name suggested, it was an Earth Element Magical Beast. Unlike the Titan Giant Ape’s formidable Attack Power and destructive force, the Titan Giant Rock represented fortitude and guardianship. They were one of the world’s strongest defensive Magical Beasts, as solid as bedrock itself. If the Titan Giant Ape was considered extremely difficult to kill, then the Titan Giant Rock was impossible to kill.
Yes, you heard that right. Impossible to kill. Elemental Magical Beasts shared a common trait: an abundant Life Force. Their vital functions were completely different from those of biological and plant-type Magical Beasts. As long as their critical life core wasn’t destroyed, they could regenerate indefinitely. And this was even more true for the Titan Giant Rock, which was renowned for its defense!
However, it wasn’t just their abilities that were the polar opposite of the Titan Giant Ape’s; so was their personality. They were friendly, kind, simple, and honest. The vast majority of Titan Giant Rocks were willing to coexist peacefully with humans, even for mutual benefit. The few that were unwilling to associate with humans were still not hostile toward them.
There was, however, one situation that would alter a Titan Giant Rock’s temperament: facing a Titan Giant Ape. Whenever a Titan Giant Ape and a Titan Giant Rock came face to face, an epic battle was guaranteed to break out. They were like the ultimate spear and the ultimate shield, clashing with absolute power and Absolute Defense.
These battles would often last for months, only ending when both the Titan Giant Ape and the Titan Giant Rock were completely exhausted. This, in turn, became a bond between them. The Titan Giant Ape used the Titan Giant Rock as a live training partner to hone its attack methods and power; the Titan Giant Rock used the Titan Giant Ape to practice its defensive techniques and methods for dissipating force. The two were rivals, yet they were also each other’s teachers. (What a mouthful!)
Now, based on the fluctuations of Primordial Power erupting from Little Tiger’s wrist, Mu Chen could tell that this Magical Beast, connected to the Titan Series, had to be an offensive type. Its body had yet to appear, but an aggressive and berserk aura preceded it, sweeping outward in an unstoppable wave of pressure.
TING!
After the wave of pressure passed, a crimson Summoning Array Map flickered into existence from Little Tiger’s palm. It expanded toward the sky, stopping only after it had risen to a height of dozens of meters. As the Array Map halted, the strange symbol on Little Tiger’s wrist flashed abruptly before shooting into the sky and embedding itself within the map. Accompanied by a roar worthy of a Beast Emperor, a huge Ape-like Magical Beast broke through the Array Map and crashed down, stomping hard onto the Golden-Winged Emperor Eagle’s back. A ring of force erupted, and if the Golden-Winged Emperor Eagle hadn’t released its Wind-Blocking Barrier in time, Mu Chen and the others would have been sent flying by the powerful shockwave.
ROAR!!!
THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP!
The Ape-like Magical Beast was covered in snow-white fur. Its massive head had only a single, giant eye that glowed a shade of Red Gold, hinting at a deep bloodlust. A pair of thick arms, rippling with explosive power, slammed against its chest, unleashing waves of oppressive might.
’Just as I thought!’
Mu Chen grinned but said nothing. Zhu Jiuqian, on the other hand, was overjoyed. "Holy shit! Holy fucking shit! A Titan Giant Ape! A goddamn Titan Giant Ape! Worthy of being my disciple! Hahaha! His future is boundless, absolutely boundless!"
But before the crowd’s astonishment could fade, Ta Shan’s arm suddenly erupted in a dazzling light. An earthy-yellow Array rose rapidly, stopping abruptly when it reached the same height as the Titan Giant Ape’s Summoning Array. Everyone turned to stare at Ta Shan in disbelief, only to find him staring back with the same expression, mixed with a hint of panic.
"It wasn’t me! It’s coming out on its own!"
Ta Shan’s good-natured voice trembled, and he sounded as if he were on the verge of tears. But there was no time for crying. His arm had already lifted on its own, and a peculiar symbol shot into the sky, embedding itself in the earthy-yellow Array Map.
A brilliant light flared, and a massive mountain peak suddenly burst from the Array Map, crashing down onto the Golden-Winged Emperor Eagle’s back! Another shockwave rippled out, but thanks to the Emperor Eagle’s barrier, no one was thrown into disarray this time. They all just stared wide-eyed at the peculiar mountain.
RUMBLE... With a cascade of falling rocks, the peculiar mountain began to tremble violently. Immediately after, crevices appeared all over its surface. These fissures extended and pieced themselves together, and in just a few short moments, a colossal Rock Demon appeared before them.
Its build was identical to the Titan Giant Ape’s, and it too possessed only a single, giant eye. Its eye revealed a sense of clarity and shone with a golden light, nearly identical to the Titan Giant Ape’s! The only differences were the composition of its body and the aura emanating from within it.
Solid. Indestructible.
’Could it be...!’
ROAR!!
But before Mu Chen could say a word, the Titan Giant Ape slammed its chest again. It swiped its right arm through the air, and with no warning, a giant club the size of a mountain peak materialized in its hand. Bracing its left arm against the ground, it pushed off with its feet and vaulted forward, its massive body becoming a blur as it charged toward the stone figure. Its momentum was unstoppable!
The Rock Giant, however, remained completely unfazed. Not a trace of fear showed in its clear eye. It thrust its right arm forward, and a diamond-shaped Rock Shield, as large as its own body, instantly appeared, forming a bulwark in front of it.
"A Titan Giant Rock!"
Zhu Jiuqian’s jaw had dropped. But just as the two beasts were about to collide, the Golden-Winged Emperor Eagle’s massive head suddenly appeared between them. It bellowed, "I SAID!"
"!?"
The Titan Giant Ape and the Titan Giant Rock reacted in the exact same way, looking with confusion at the bird head that had suddenly appeared.
But the Golden-Winged Emperor Eagle didn’t care. With a very human-like expression of fury, it roared, "You two little bastards better behave! You’re on my turf right now! You push your luck with me one more time, and believe me, I’ll swallow you both whole!"
At these words, both beasts flinched. One put away its club, the other its massive shield. They threw their arms around each other’s shoulders and gave the Golden-Winged Emperor Eagle an amicable smile, as if to say, ’We’re best buddies! We were just playing around! Please, Your Excellency, spare us the lecture...’
Now *that* was intelligence...
