Extreme Almightiest Young Master
Chapter 2805 - 2781: Anubis’s Tomb?
Chapter 2805: Chapter 2781: Anubis’s Tomb?
Lin Feng soared into the air instantly, and the green mist followed in his direction. He didn’t form any techniques, but the Giant Winged Mantis flew higher and higher, appearing instantly above the ground. Just as its giant claws were about to grab Lin Feng, the Nine Dark Heaven Dragon roared up, opened its gigantic mouth, and swallowed the Giant Winged Mantis whole in an instant.
"Crack, crack, crack." Xiao Jiu immediately tore the Giant Winged Mantis apart with its sharp teeth, but it didn’t swallow it, instead spitting it back out.
Seeing a puddle of green blood on the ground, Tangyuan almost threw up; it was so disgusting and emitted a foul stench.
With a faint smile, Lin Feng knew Xiao Jiu would definitely make a move, so he hadn’t planned to dodge the Giant Winged Mantis. Looking at the fragmented corpse of the Giant Winged Mantis on the ground, he nodded in satisfaction and then said to Xiao Jiu, "Well done, you’ve improved!"
Upon hearing Lin Feng’s compliment, Xiao Jiu felt happy and immediately transformed into human form, pouncing into Lin Feng’s arms.
After dealing with this creature, the man and two beasts embarked again on their westward journey. This time, Lin Feng extended his Divine Sense and discovered a peculiar building not far away, quickening his pace in that direction.
Sure enough, they saw a structure not far away, surrounded by a whirlwind of sand. Upon a closer look, Lin Feng was instantly stunned...
This structure was a temple and appeared very ancient, almost like ruins from afar. But what shocked Lin Feng the most was that the building resembled the pyramids of ancient Egypt on Earth, triangular and standing on the ground with an almost identical shape. What was going on here?
They were almost at the edge of the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm, where civilization should not exist, and yet this pyramid looked exactly like those on Earth. Could there really be people from Earth here? Such a coincidence seemed impossible. With this in mind, Lin Feng wanted to figure out exactly what was happening.
"Boss, what is this?" Tangyuan asked when he saw Lin Feng’s astonished expression, clearly recognizing the building in front of them, though Tangyuan had never seen such a structure, not even in books.
"This is a structure from Earth," Lin Feng said to Tangyuan. He was curious too, about how the civilization of ancient Egypt appeared here. The more he looked, the more he felt this was definitely a building that existed only on Earth.
Upon hearing Lin Feng’s words, Tangyuan and Xiao Jiu both widened their eyes. They couldn’t believe that such a thing would appear at the edge of the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm. Could it be that others have ascended and reached this place? Truly unbelievable. ℴℴ𝘮
Lin Feng, filled with doubt, entered the pyramid with Xiao Jiu and Tangyuan following him inside. As they entered, he became more certain that this was a structure from Earth because they entered it easily. If it were a relic within the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm, it would have had a Barrier or Formation, which further proved that the owner of this pyramid knew nothing of such things.
Inside was a long corridor, pitch black, and Lin Feng reached out to ignite the Eternal Divine Flame, revealing the surroundings. On both sides were murals, and the scenes depicted were of Earth’s mountains, portraying various ancient structures from Earth. The further he went, the more astonished he became. The murals depicted legends from Egyptian mythology, making him grateful that he had studied history and geography quite well in school.
Tangyuan and Xiao Jiu followed Lin Feng, and seeing the look in Lin Feng’s eyes, although they didn’t understand his thoughts, they sensed it was the first time the boss was so surprised.
The man and two beasts reached the end of the corridor, where a hall appeared before them. Lin Feng was the first to step forward, seeing a statue of the Guardian God Anubis from ancient Egyptian mythology prominently standing, with a jackal head and human body, exuding a murderous aura from its gaze. It held a long whip, revered as the god of the underworld by ancient Egyptians.
And on either side of the Anubis statue, a Scarab guarded it. This situation was identical to ancient Egyptian civilization. Lin Feng was now certain that this place was indeed related to Earth.
Lin Feng and his companions wandered the hall but found no trace of human presence. However, on the mural at the far end of the wall, he felt something peculiar, as if the mural was trying to convey a message to him. Upon careful observation, he noticed that several points on the mural, if connected, formed a symbol from Egypt. With this thought, he decided to give it a try.
Extending his hand, he tapped on several points on the mural, connecting them. As expected, the mural began to emit a faint golden glow, and shortly after, it disappeared, replaced by a pitch-black passageway.
As soon as he stepped one foot into the passageway, torches on both sides ignited as if receiving a command, extending into the passage. In an instant, the passage was brightly lit as if it were broad daylight. Seeing this, Lin Feng led Tangyuan and Xiao Jiu closer to the inside.
After passing through the not-so-long corridor, Lin Feng arrived at an open space, a hall not large, merely a dozen or so meters in diameter. In the center of the hall lay only a gold coffin, its dazzling brilliance resembling something brand new, which astonished him the most.
In front of the gold coffin stood a golden statue of a Golden Scarab, towering several dozen meters high. The scarab was entirely encased in golden metal, looking lifelike, and held a golden scepter in its grasp.
Just as Lin Feng was about to approach for a closer look, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
"Halt." Lin Feng saw the eyes of the scarab suddenly burst forth with a red glow, indicating the voice must have been a warning from it not to approach.
Lin Feng also used his spiritual power to communicate with the scarab, identifying himself, saying, "How did you come to the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm? I am from Earth."
He was almost certain that everything here was created by people from Earth. The Myriad Heavens Divine Realm couldn’t possibly create an identical world to Earth. Moreover, he suspected that the owner of the gold coffin might very well be a human from ancient Egypt.
"How is that possible!" the scarab stated incredulously.
"Your architecture is a pyramid, the god outside is Anubis, and the murals depict all the gods from Egyptian mythology, right?" Lin Feng thought the scarab didn’t believe him, so he told it everything he had seen.
Realizing Lin Feng’s words, the scarab acknowledged that Lin Feng was truly a human from Earth. It then happily responded to Lin Feng, "We did indeed come from Egypt. The one in the gold coffin is my master, none other than the true remains of Anubis."
What?
Upon hearing this, Lin Feng was instantly dumbfounded. Anubis was just mythology; it couldn’t possibly exist. What was going on here? But since the scarab said so, there must be some intrigue. He then asked, "How did you come over here, and aren’t you a statue?"
Carefully observing the scarab’s metallic exterior, Lin Feng grew increasingly curious. It clearly looked like just a statue, yet was it still alive?
The scarab looked at Lin Feng and then replied, "I was merely sealed by my master. When you entered the pyramid, my seal was lifted. We came here through a special route."
"A special route? You mean ascension too?" Lin Feng continued to ask, feeling he was close to understanding the truth and perhaps even finding a way to return to Earth.
"I don’t know what ascension is. Countless years ago, my master comprehended the laws of another space in front of the temple in Egypt and opened the Space Portal. We drifted through the vast universe for countless years on the scepter I hold, eventually stumbling upon this place," the scarab explained to Lin Feng.
Hearing this, Lin Feng had an epiphany. It turned out that ascending from Earth to the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm wasn’t the only route. Pondering this, he found cultivators truly fascinating, but he wondered if Anubis wouldn’t have faced suppression upon arriving in the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm. With this thought in mind, he continued to ask, "Did you not experience suppression upon coming here?"
The scarab told Lin Feng, "We did, but my master found a solution. Not far from here, there’s a Heaven Pit with abundant energy. My master took me there and stayed for a long time before adapting to the Yuan Energy here."
Hearing this, Lin Feng was even more puzzled. Why would they find such a remote place? If their Yuan Energy conversion was complete, why not go out? He then followed up with, "How did your master die?"
"I don’t know either. One day, after my master sealed me, he lay down in the gold coffin, and I know nothing of what happened after that. But I’m sure my master is dead because he passed the scepter to me," the scarab said. In Egypt, the scepter is a symbol of identity. Passing it on signifies relinquishing everything. The scarab suspected the master might have committed suicide, but it dared not open the gold coffin to seek answers.
Hearing this, Lin Feng nodded. Although he hadn’t opened the gold coffin, there wasn’t a trace of human aura here. He could be certain that Anubis was dead. Looking at the scarab, he continued to ask, "Did your master leave any instructions before sealing you?"
"My master only said that if anyone came here, I should give this scepter to that person," the scarab said, looking at Lin Feng. Presumably, the master meant this young man before it, who lifted its seal and was the first to arrive here.
Staring at the golden scepter in the scarab’s hand, Lin Feng could feel a vast energy different from Yuan Energy, a new energy system altogether, emitting an extreme golden luminescence, as if Anubis’s life’s work was encapsulated within the scepter. He reached out to take the scepter, surprised to find it weighed a thousand pounds, requiring effort even for him to lift.
