Chapter 2677: Technological Dwarfs

Every building had already been weathered, and there was a thick layer of dust accumulated on top. Lin Feng was astonished by everything he saw here. It was really unexpected that there would be such an amazing city under the sea. However, upon arriving, he found no traces of Demon Beasts or Humans, which was quite strange.

As Lin Feng looked around, he suddenly heard a roar. He slowly turned around and found someone standing in front of him who was only about ten feet tall and had a peculiar appearance. This individual was holding a weapon that looked like a fishfork missile and pointed it at Lin Feng, making childlike sounds as he shouted at him: "**&&&**&*%%"

"What?" Lin Feng looked at the bizarre person in front of him with a bewildered face, completely unable to understand what he was saying.

Soon, several others who resembled this small dwarf approached, each armed and cautiously watching Lin Feng as if he were a trespassing monster.

The leading dwarf took out a small machine-like gadget from his pocket. After saying something to it, a voice emanated from the machine: "Who are you?"

Seeing this, Lin Feng thought the situation was getting more interesting. This speaking machine turned out to be a translation device, which he hadn’t expected. But to find such high-tech things here, Lin Feng chuckled and spoke to the translation machine: "I accidentally came here, sorry for interrupting."

Lin Feng spoke politely. He could see that these little fellows were on guard against him but had no malicious intent. He explained patiently, becoming more curious about these dwarfs. They didn’t seem to be from the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm, nor were they Demon Beasts. Where did they come from?

Upon hearing Lin Feng’s words, the leading dwarf lowered his weapon and then said something to the translation machine, which in turn said: "Come with me."

Although Lin Feng found it rather odd, he still followed them.

Walking through this old city, Lin Feng found that these dwarfs were leading him underground. After walking for an hour, they finally arrived at a spacious area that starkly contrasted with the dilapidated city. Right before him appeared a spacecraft that was extremely conspicuous in the city.

This spacecraft was about the size of Aurora but appeared to be in a terrible state. In front of the spacecraft were various scientific machines on display. This was unexpected to him as such high-tech items couldn’t possibly exist in the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm. From an Earthling’s perspective, these things seemed to be electronic energy or scientific construction machines, which piqued his curiosity about this place even more.

Looking around, Lin Feng remained silent. A dwarf with an elderly appearance came out, pointed at a table behind him, and then also took out a translation machine, saying, "Have a seat, friend. Where do you come from?"

Looking closely at the dwarf in front of him, despite his old appearance, his voice was sharp and childlike. Lin Feng saw the table and awkwardly sat on it, feeling it was too low for his height, then replied to the translation machine, "I’m from Lin City. Where is this place?"

"I don’t know either. Our spacecraft crashed into the seabed, and we’ve been living here ever since," Puba looked at Lin Feng and said. In fact, he had only heard of Humans from the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm, but since descending to the seabed, had only ever seen Demon Beasts, not a single Human. So when Lin Feng appeared before him, he was quite startled.

Inspecting the surroundings, Lin Feng noticed that none of the apparatuses were working, and the only energy device flickered weakly, as if it might go out at any moment. He then asked, "Why don’t you leave?"

"We rely on energy to sustain all the machines, but being trapped here for so long has almost completely depleted our resources. We’ve always wanted to find an opportunity to leave, but the dangers outside are too great. Without weapons, we wouldn’t last long enough to escape the seabed."

Puba sighed. Now their only remaining energy supplied the outer protective barrier. Due to insufficient energy, cracks had appeared in the barrier. If the barrier failed, they would all perish. They wished to leave but faced the powerful Humans and Demon Beasts of the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm, and there was nothing they could do.

Upon hearing Puba’s words, Lin Feng understood they were an alien race, akin to extraterrestrials on Earth. They did not follow the path of Cultivation and needed these machines for defense. Without energy, venturing out would indeed be perilous.

With this thought, Lin Feng suddenly had a bold idea: If he could take them away, given their scientific expertise, they could develop all sorts of weapons, which would significantly benefit establishing the Sect. Looking at the machines behind these dwarfs, he believed they already possessed advanced scientific and technological skills. With the right materials, they could produce many things that don’t exist in the Myriad Heavens Divine Realm.

He then asked Puba, "What kind of energy do you need?"

Puba took out a shiny, light green stone from behind him and handed it to Lin Feng, explaining, "The energy is something we brought from our home, but only a dozen pieces are left. If we don’t find a substitute quickly, we’ll perish here."

He looked at Lin Feng with mournful eyes, hoping someone would help them. If the energy ran out, the sea water would flood the city, and they would die. With the spacecraft broken, returning home was impossible. These thoughts filled his heart with immense despair. He felt ashamed as the leader for bringing a hundred of his kin out exploring to find a substitute energy source because the resources of their homeland were also depleting rapidly. They never imagined being stuck here for so many years after the crash.

Lin Feng took the light-green glowing stone and examined it carefully. He could sense the immense energy emanating from it. Although he wasn’t sure what kind of stone it was, it felt very similar to a Yuan Stone. If Yuan Stones could be a substitute, that would make things much easier. However, he sensed its energy content was far greater than that of a Yuan Stone. He then took several Yuan Stones from his space and showed them to Puba, asking, "Can these replace your energy?"

Puba closed his eyes to feel the energy from the Yuan Stones, then said, "They can, but not sufficiently. If we use them as a substitute, they will deplete very quickly."

Hearing this response, although the quantity of Yuan Stones wasn’t an issue for Lin Feng, he still wanted to find a more suitable substitute. He suddenly thought about Demon Cores, which also contained energy, wondering if they could replace it. He then took out a Demon King Level Demon Core from his space, showed it to Puba, and asked, "What about this?"

Taking the Demon Core, the eyes of all the dwarfs lit up with excitement, and they exclaimed: "&&&...*****###@@@@@¥¥¥¥¥"

Puba smiled and said to the translation machine, "This one is good too, although not as good as our stone, it’s much better than the previous one."

"And this one?" Lin Feng then took out a Demon Venerable Level Demon Core and inquired.

Seeing this Demon Core, the dwarfs began jumping with joy. This one was nearly equivalent to their stone energy. So they asked Lin Feng, "What is this, and is it easy to find?"

Lin Feng didn’t know how to explain, but this Demon Venerable Demon Core was extremely rare. If it could power these machines, it would be necessary to produce more. Although this wasn’t difficult for Lin Feng, it was extremely hard for the dwarfs to obtain. He then said to Puba, "Is there any equipment we can try it out on so I can see? If I’m satisfied, I can prepare more Demon Cores."

After thinking for a moment, Puba said to Lin Feng, "Come with me."

Puba led Lin Feng into a secret room. Although not large, it appeared exceedingly mysterious, resembling an armory of these dwarfs.

When Lin Feng entered the room, his eyes widened. Before him appeared numerous small turrets, each resembling a rocket launcher from Earth. The turrets’ construction appeared very complex, with numerous buttons, giving them a high-tech appearance.

"These are weapons we built, but they’ve been unused due to lack of energy," Puba said, looking at Lin Feng.

Seeing the turrets before him, Lin Feng couldn’t help but marvel at the dwarfs’ Wisdom. Even on Earth, such technology seemed extremely rare. He then passed the Demon Venerable Demon Core to Puba, saying, "Let’s give it a try."

Puba nodded, placing the Demon Core at the top of a turret. As the Demon Core was inserted, the entire turret flashed with silver light, turning completely silver. Puba controlled it with a remote, adjusting the angle, firing towards the distant wall.

"Boom!"

A roaring sound followed by a fiery meteor shot out, immediately gouging a hole dozens of feet wide in the wall. The seabed quaked as if an earthquake had occurred.

This thing’s power was quite something!

Lin Feng couldn’t help but marvel internally. He hadn’t expected such a small turret to possess such immense power. And the fact that these turrets could be operated remotely, eliminating manual operation, saved significant manpower. Truly amazing.

Seeing the abundant energy from the Demon Core, Puba finally smiled, then said to Lin Feng, "This is only the smallest power output. It can be adjusted but had to be restrained undersea. Still, your energy stone is quite remarkable."

Upon hearing Puba’s words, Lin Feng smiled lightly, then addressed the dwarfs, "Would you like to come with me?"

Partly for sect-related purposes and partly to help them, those Demon Cores were something the dwarfs couldn’t obtain on their own. It would be mutually beneficial, and they focused on research. If they could accomplish it in the future and meet their energy needs, they might be able to leave as well.
