Eldrian nodded.

"Yes. It is an affinity that can be awakened by Moon Elves, although not every Moon Elf possesses it. In fact, having Lunar Affinity is considered quite rare even among them."

Noah listened attentively.

"It’s somewhat similar to Light Affinity in appearance. It produces a beautiful silver-blue radiance." He raised a finger as if trying to find the simplest way to explain it. "In simple terms, you could think of it as moonlight."

"Moonlight..." Noah repeated the word quietly.

"Unlike ordinary hot Light Affinity, however, Lunar Magic produces a cool and gentle light. It is also closely connected to Ice, which is one of the reasons Moon Elves are particularly renowned for their frost-related abilities."

"So Lunar Magic is basically a form of moonlight with a connection to Ice?"

"That’s one way of putting it."

Eldrian smiled. "But there’s more to it than that. This lunar affinity is really amusing and versatile."

Noah’s interest immediately grew. "More Versatile?"

"Yes. Also Moon Elves aren’t the only ones who can awaken Lunar Affinity."

Noah raised an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Rarely, but yes." Eldrian’s expression became slightly more serious. "Blood Elves and vampires have also been known to possess Lunar Affinity."

Noah’s eyes widened slightly. "That’s not what I expected."

"Neither did I when I first learned about it."

Eldrian gave a small shrug.

"Why those races can awaken Lunar Affinity is something even I don’t know. There are theories, of course, but nothing has ever been proven."

’I wonder if it has something to do with the Moon Goddess.’

The thought immediately crossed Noah’s mind.

Considering the Moon Elves’ name, and their connection to Lunar Magic, it seemed too convenient to be a coincidence.

Eldrian continued before Noah could dwell on it further.

"Lunar Magic has several aspects, though its exact abilities depend on the user’s affinity and level of mastery. Not everyone could achieve it... You know light affinity user can learn healing magic despite light being so hot and deadly. Also they can learn some purification spells."

"Yes I am aware."

He began explaining them one by one. "Moonlight is the most fundamental aspect. A Lunar Mage can create or manipulate supernatural moonlight, using it as both a source of illumination and a form of magical energy."

Noah listened silently. "Then there is Night. Some Lunar spells become stronger during nighttime. Especially under full moon. Naturally, the effect is more pronounced beneath the actual night sky."

"Interesting..."

"Another aspect is Illusion."

Eldrian continued. "Advanced Lunar Magic can create mirages, false images, and deceptive appearances. Some users can even manipulate what others perceive, making it difficult to distinguish reality from illusion. This is not like creating projections or controlling mind. Rather the caster bends lunar light around themselves, creating a false image. Creates an illusory duplicate of the caster. Makes an area appear different from what it actually is."

Noah’s expression became slightly more serious. ’That’s troublesome. ’

"There’s also Reflection."

Eldrian gestured toward the magical lights illuminating the street.

"Lunar Magic can create reflections, mirrored images, or even temporary copies of magical phenomena. Again, the more advanced applications require tremendous control. I guess you can include this in illusions."

’Now i want to learn this lunar magic... but i have no affinity..’ Noah thought with amusement.

"Then there are Dreams. Certain Lunar Mages can influence sleep and dreams, and exceptionally skilled users may even interfere with someone’s consciousness while they sleep."

Noah’s eyebrows rose. ’So it can affect the mind too but when asleep...’ Noah found himself becoming more fascinated by the subject with every explanation.

Eldrian continued.

"At higher levels, there are also more unusual applications."

"Such as?"

"Gravity."

Noah blinked. "Gravity?"

"Yes. The Moon’s influence on the tides is well known, and some scholars believe Lunar Magic can imitate that influence on a magical level. Extremely advanced users may manipulate gravitational forces, though this is exceedingly rare. Also it’s not as strong as people possessing real gravity affinity."

Noah’s expression stiffened. ’So Lunar Magic can eventually mess with gravity too?’

That sounded considerably more dangerous than he had expected.

Noah nodded slowly.

"And finally..."

Eldrian raised another finger.

"Sealing and Purification."

"Sealing allows Lunar Mages to use lunar symbols and energy to bind supernatural beings, suppress abilities, or restrict magical power."

"And Purification?"

"Lunar moonlight can sometimes cleanse curses, corrupted energy, and certain forms of magical contamination. It’s not as powerful as those light affinity user... but still they can do it."

Eldrian gave Noah a thoughtful look.

"Of course, don’t misunderstand. None of these abilities are available to every Lunar Mage. Lunar Magic is an extremely broad affinity, and most users specialize in only a few aspects. The stronger and more experienced the mage, the more applications they can potentially unlock."

Noah remained silent. His mind was already putting the pieces together.

It wasn’t simply an affinity that produced pretty silver-blue light.

Lunar Magic seemed to possess an astonishing variety of applications.

And the fact that Blood Elves and vampires could awaken the same affinity made it even more suspicious.

’There has to be some connection.’

Noah glanced toward the distant World Tree.

’But what kind?’

For some reason, his thoughts returned to the Moon Goddess.

He had searched for information about the Lunar Elves before coming to Elythraen, yet almost everything he found had been vague.

Perhaps that wasn’t a coincidence.

Perhaps there was far more to Lunar Magic—and the Lunar Elves themselves—than the history books were willing to reveal.

After talking for a while longer, Noah finally stepped back and gave Eldrian a respectful bow.

"Thank you very much. You told me far more than I expected."

"Haha. You could have found most of that information in the library."

Eldrian chuckled.

"But young people these days seem to hate reading. So I thought, why not explain it myself?"

He smiled warmly.

"Besides, you were a good listener."

"Well, I’m an Ice user myself, so I became interested when I heard that Lunar Magic had some connection to Ice."

Noah smiled.

"But I didn’t expect it to be so versatile."

"Haha. It’s always good to see young people eager to learn."

Eldrian nodded approvingly.

"As a mage myself, I’m always curious about new forms of magic and the different ways they can be used. The more you learn, the more you realize how much there is left to discover."

Noah nodded in agreement.

The conversation had lasted longer than he had initially intended.

By now, the sky had gradually darkened, and the warm colors of sunset had disappeared behind the distant trees. Magical lamps had begun illuminating the streets of Lunathiel one after another.

"Noah! Let’s go back!"

A familiar voice called out.

Noah turned around.

Leonard was standing outside the café with the others, waving toward him.

"Coming!"

Noah turned back toward Eldrian and gave him another polite bow.

"Thank you for taking the time to talk with me, Sir Eldrian. I should probably head back now."

He smiled.

"And please say hello to your daughter for me."

"Haha, certainly."

Eldrian chuckled and lightly patted Noah’s shoulder.

"I’ll see you tomorrow. I’ll be taking all of you near the World Tree, so make sure you get some proper rest tonight."

"Of course."

With a final nod, Noah turned around and walked toward his friends.
