Black energy erupted from his skin

RUMBLE.

His muscles expanded. His bones started to shift. His entire body began growing at an impossible rate.

Black scales emerged across his skin. His arms transformed into enormous clawed limbs.

His legs twisted and lengthened. His spine extended. A colossal tail emerged behind him.

Two enormous horns pushed from his skull.

His face elongated into the terrifying visage of a dragon.

BOOOOOOM!!!

A wave of black energy exploded through space. The transformation was complete.

A colossal dragon floated above the planet. Its scales were darker than the void itself, absorbing much of the distant starlight.

Its enormous horns curved backward from its skull.

Its eyes burned with a deep crimson radiance. Every movement caused space around its body to distort.

Then it continued growing larger and larger.

The planet beneath it suddenly seemed insignificant. The dragon’s body expanded until its enormous silhouette stretched farther than the maroon world below.

Its claws alone were large enough to crush mountains. Its wings unfolded.

WHOOOOOOOOOSH!

The resulting windstorm swept across the planet, completely dispersing the surrounding sandstorms.

The Monarch of Destruction had revealed his true form. And he was larger than the planet itself.

For a while, neither Monarch moved.

The Monarch of Decay stared upward.

Its rage was accompanied by caution.

The black dragon slowly lowered its enormous head. Crimson eyes focused upon the creature before him.

When he spoke, his voice no longer belonged to a human. It was the voice of something ancient. Something that had existed long before civilizations.

"You have made one mistake, that is coming here."

The Monarch of Decay’s enormous eye narrowed. The black dragon continued.

"You thought I planned everything to damage your soul... then you are wrong. To defeat you..."

Black energy began gathering around his colossal body. The surrounding stars seemed to dim.

"I don’t need a plan."

His enormous jaws slowly opened. Darkness gathered inside his mouth. The Monarch of Decay’s expression changed.

"You... became stronger than last time I saw you." Monarch of decay spoke is worry.

The dragon’s voice echoed across space.

"The things that happened there were not what i was expecting... still I got the same result..."

His crimson eyes burned brighter.

"And you are truly coward.. even now you came here not in your true form."

The Monarch of Decay roared.

"DIE!"

Countless tentacles surged through space.

The black dragon spread his enormous wings.

And for one brief moment. The universe between the two Monarchs became completely silent.

Then both moved.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Their powers collided. The shockwave spread across the void like an expanding wall, shaking the maroon planet beneath them and scattering enormous clouds of crimson dust into space.

Two ancient existences collided in the depths of space. The very moment their powers met, the surrounding void seemed to tremble.

BOOOOOOM!!!

A colossal shockwave erupted from the point of impact.

It expanded through space for thousands of kilometers, tearing apart asteroids and reducing smaller celestial bodies to fragments.

Distant stars flickered violently as waves of destructive energy washed over them.

Black light clashed against crimson.

BOOM!

BOOM!

BOOOOOOM!!!

The Monarch of Decay unleashed countless tendrils of corrupted energy, each one capable of tearing through mountains and consuming entire regions of land.

But against the Monarch of Destruction, they were not enough.

They both possessed different abilities and authority that could destroy worlds. But against each other they didn’t work well.

The enormous black dragon moved through space with terrifying speed.

His claws tore through the darkness, each strike carrying enough destructive force to distort space itself.

The Monarch of Decay attempted to counterattack.

Its countless tentacles surged forward from every direction.

The dragon simply swept one enormous claw across them.

SHRRRRRAAAK!!!

Hundreds of tentacles were severed simultaneously.

The corrupted energy was no threat to him nor it have any effect on his body.

While black color of destructive energy spread across the wounds, preventing them from immediately regenerating.

The Monarch of Decay roared.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN DEFEAT ME?!"

Its enormous body expanded.

More flesh emerged from its torso. Countless mouths opened across its body, releasing waves of corrupted energy.

The surrounding space began to decay. Even the distant light of stars seemed to fade as the corruption spread.

Yet the Monarch of Destruction remained unmoved.

He accelerated.

BOOM!

His enormous body disappeared.

CRAAAAASH!!!

His claw slammed directly into the Monarch of Decay.

The impact sent the gigantic abomination flying through space.

Its enormous body crashed through an asteroid belt, completely destroying thousands of rocks in its path.

Before it could recover, the black dragon was already above it.

The Monarch of Decay looked upward. Something resembling fear appeared within its countless eyes.

The dragon’s enormous jaws slowly opened.

Silence fell.

Then energy began gathering inside his mouth. At first, it was only a small point of light.

Then it expanded. Brilliant crimson energy accumulated between his jaws, becoming brighter and brighter until it illuminated the surrounding void.

Space itself began to distort around it.

The Monarch of Decay immediately understood.

"No..."

The dragon’s eyes burned with absolute indifference. The energy reached its peak.

"NO!"

The Monarch of Decay desperately released every ounce of power it possessed. Countless tentacles formed a gigantic barrier around its body.

Mouths opened across its flesh. Corrupted energy erupted in every direction.

But the dragon had already made his decision.

His jaws opened wider.

ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAR!!!

A colossal beam of destructive energy erupted from his mouth.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The beam swallowed the darkness.

It was so enormous that its width alone stretched across countless kilometers.

The entire body of the Monarch of Decay disappeared inside it.

The corrupted barriers were destroyed instantly.

Tentacles vaporized. Rotten flesh was erased. Its countless mouths screamed simultaneously as the destructive beam consumed everything around it.

The beam didn’t stop.

It continued forward through the void. It tore through several enormous asteroids, reducing them to dust.

A distant planet caught the edge of the attack.

BOOOOOOM!!!

Its surface was instantly obliterated. The beam continued farther. Another celestial body disappeared.

Even distant stars were engulfed by the crimson radiance, their light swallowed beneath the overwhelming destructive force.

The beam continued tearing through space.

The crimson light gradually faded. The surrounding darkness returned. Nothing remained where the Monarch of Decay had been.

Only drifting fragments of matter remained scattered throughout the void.

The black dragon hovered silently. His enormous wings slowly moved through the vacuum.

He stared at the empty space before him. There was no celebration. No roar of victory. Nor an expression of satisfaction.

Only cold silence. After a moment, his enormous crimson eyes narrowed.

"He was really weakened... just because his soul was slightly damaged." The dragon commented on Decay.

His gaze drifted toward the distant stars.

"Everything went differently."

A low growl escaped his throat.

"But now..."

His thoughts returned to the young man who had somehow survived the Monarch of Decay.

The human carrying the Moon Goddess’s divine power.

The human possessing the bloodline of a Monarch. Which Monarch? He didn’t know.

The dragon’s expression became unreadable.

He remained there alone in the endless darkness.

Around him, the remnants of their battle slowly drifted through space.
