Chapter 750: Amelia VS Laplace [2]
Chapter 750: Amelia VS Laplace [2]
“You think time matters to me? Destruction doesn’t follow time.”
He clenched his fist, and the frozen fragments of time began to collapse.
Each second that she had frozen shattered, releasing violent shockwaves that tore through her world.
Amelia was thrown backward, coughing blood.
Laplace stepped forward, his body glowing with black energy.
“Your tricks end here.”
He raised his hand, and a beam of destruction split through the ocean.
Every wave, every reflection, every trace of light was consumed in it.
Amelia tried to counter with another technique—creating a spiral of endless water to absorb it—but his destruction tore through it like paper.
Her world began to fall apart.
And then, something crashed through the sky.
A giant shadow broke through the Blood Sea above and fell straight into the sea below.
The impact was so strong that Amelia’s World cracked apart.
When the mist cleared, a massive dragon’s body lay half-submerged in the sea.
Laplace’s eyes widened.
“Aerion!”
The dragon wasn’t moving.
His scales were scorched, one wing completely torn off, and his tail burnt to ashes.
A spear of golden lightning was buried deep in his chest.
Zeus floated above them, lightning sparking around his injured form.
His robes were torn, but that was all. Compared to the ancient dragon, one could say he had sustained no injury.
Laplace’s face twisted in shock and anger.
He ignored Amelia and rushed toward Aerion, pushing aside the rain of her attacks.
He even blocked Zeus’s next bolt of lightning with a wave of pure destruction.
All he could see was the dying dragon below him.
Laplace landed beside Aerion and reached out, trying to pour his power into him.
“Don’t you dare die, Aerion!”
But before his hand could touch the wound, the dragon’s claw suddenly snapped up and grabbed his wrist.
“Got you,” Aerion said, grinning.
Laplace froze. His eyes widened as realization hit him.
Something was wrong.
Before he could pull back, a cold metallic sound clicked near his head.
He turned slightly and saw the muzzle of a gun pressed against his temple.
“Goodbye,” Felix muttered, and pulled the trigger.
The bullet pierced Laplace’s head clean through.
In the same instant, Aerion’s body dissolved into mist, and Zeus vanished with him.
In their place stood Berserker, grinning like a madman.
“I told you it would work. These dragons are too dumb and too confident in their strength for their own good.”
Amelia exhaled in relief, recalling what had just happened.
The person she had been listening to earlier had been Berserker’s voice, telling the plan to her.
He had been building an illusion strong enough to fool even Laplace until now.
Felix fell to the ground, sitting heavily. He looked pale and exhausted.
“Damn, why did I have to die first? This is ridiculous.”
Amelia gave a small smile and went to help Percival stand.
“We’ll talk about it later. Right now, we need to check on Arthur,” she said.
But before they could move, a low, rasping voice echoed.
“Where are you going?”
Everyone froze.
They turned slowly.
Laplace’s body was moving. His head hung low, blood pouring from the hole, yet his presence was still there.
He was holding on to life through sheer will.
“Felix! Get back!” Amelia shouted, thinking Laplace would attack in a last act of rage.
But instead of attacking, Laplace began laughing.
The sound was loud, broken, and unhinged.
“You think this… is over?”
His power started condensing into his chest, swirling like a black vortex.
Amelia’s eyes widened.
“He’s going to—”
Before she could finish, Laplace exploded.
The blast was massive, shaking her entire World.
But the energy wasn’t spreading outward, it was sinking inward, tearing into the fabric of reality itself.
Amelia’s expression changed.
’No… he’s not trying to destroy the world. He’s trying to destroy time.’
She could feel it.
Laplace’s power was eating through the river of time inside her world.
He was destroying every moment from his death backward, erasing everything that had just happened.
If he erased all the time from his death to the moment he was attacked, then time would rewind itself.
He would be alive again.
Amelia screamed and tried to stop it.
She poured every ounce of her strength into the river of time, trying to hold it together.
But it was useless.
The destruction spread too fast.
Time cracked, shattered, and finally broke.
Reality began to glitch.
The sea turned upside down. The air flickered. Everything twisted into a blur of light and color.
And then, silence.
When Amelia opened her eyes, she was standing in the same place as before.
The sound of thunder echoed in the distance.
A massive dragon crashed into her world again, its body falling into the sea.
Aerion.
Amelia’s breath caught.
’No… this is when it happened before.’
Laplace turned to look at the body.
“Heh,” he sneered. “You think I’d fall for the same illusion twice?”
This time, he knew it was fake.
He turned his head slightly.
“Use something better than petty trick—”
His words stopped.
His vision blackened instantly.
Blood dripped down from the hole in his head.
Laplace’s body wavered, then fell forward into the sea with a splash.
Far away, Felix became visible.
“Dumbass,” he muttered, his tone tired but satisfied. “My weapon is a Neo Demon. Even if you turn back time, your death won’t change. You die by my bullet, and that’s final.”
The sea was quiet. The light of destruction faded away.
Amelia looked at Laplace’s sinking form and let out a shaky breath.
Percival leaned against her shoulder, barely standing. Berserker folded his arms, smirking as if the entire thing had been a fun game.
“Guess that settles it,” he said.
Amelia didn’t respond right away. She looked around her broken world. It was cracked, trembling, and slowly healing.
“No,” she said softly. “Not yet. We still have to face Zeus, bring back Arthur, and do something about the remaining Ancient Dragons.”
Berserker grinned wider. “Now that sounds fun.”
