Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System
Chapter 1251 - 499: Holy Artifact Showdown (Part 2)
Northern Lands, Church Headquarters. Inside a magnificent hall, the voices of the people were roaring.
Countless Holy Knights draped in white robes were whispering. Leading them was an old man with hair and beard all white.
"Everyone, do you know why I urgently summoned you here?" Michael slowly stood up, gazing around. His eyes were as sharp as a torch, exuding an aura of authority without anger.
"It is precisely to... deal with that damned heretic!" The old man suddenly gritted his teeth, desperate to devour him whole. The Holy Knights all gasped at his words.
When had they ever seen the always dignified Archbishop so furious?
It seems that the guy named Zhang Beixing really is an extraordinary calamity!
"Archbishop, what sort of abilities does that traitorous rebel hold to make you so enraged?" A Holy Knight couldn’t help but ask, nearly biting his own tongue.
"With his mere existence, he dares to openly challenge the authority of the Holy See, such rebellion!" Michael, burning with fury, slammed the table. "I want him to die miserably, I want his soul to be scattered!"
His words were filled with murderous intent. Such a deeply ingrained hatred made one’s skin crawl.
"Your Excellency the Bishop, how should we respond?" Another Holy Knight cautiously asked, not daring to lift his head.
"Simple, naturally... fight fire with fire!" Michael smiled eerily, a trace of a sinister light flashing in his eyes. "Someone, bring that item here!"
As soon as the words fell, the doors of the hall thundered open. A majestic figure strode in.
In his hands, he was solemnly holding a scepter, crystal clear and emitting a holy light.
"Soul Purifying Staff?!" Everyone present inhaled sharply, their eyes widening in disbelief.
This was a Divine Artifact capable of cleansing all sins on earth! Legend says that when Jesus was nailed to the cross, he used this supreme treasure to redeem millions of followers.
And now, has it fallen into the hands of the Holy See? With such a move, who could possibly withstand it?
"That’s right, it’s this." Michael laughed triumphantly, exuding an aura of awe. "With this Holy Artifact, would we still fear handling that little brat?"
"Archbishop is wise! We are willing to offer our all for the Holy See!" The Holy Knights bowed and shouted, each eager to rush out immediately to tear that rebellious guy to pieces.
"Very good, all of you go and prepare." Michael nodded in satisfaction, sitting back on the throne. "No day like the present, we’ll set off this instant!"
"I want to see how long that arrogant boy can remain rampant!" The sinister laughter echoed in the air above the hall for a long time, heralding the arrival of a storm of blood and violence.
...
Meanwhile, in an unknown corner. A mysterious figure was lurking in the shadows.
He was entirely black, like a ghost. With eyes glowing red, he coldly watched everything before him.
"That old fool Michael, still too naive." The intruder sneered, shaking his head disdainfully. "Really thinks a mere Holy Artifact can handle Zhang Beixing?"
"Fine, let him walk to his death." "In any case, the ultimate victory will still belong to..."
Before finishing his sentence, his figure disappeared into the darkness. As if he had never appeared, silent and untraceable.
Who is the one orchestrating everything behind this storm of blood and violence? And who is the true ruler of this world?
No one knows the answer. Because the one who can unveil the mystery is still thousands of miles away.
...
Zhongzhou, military camp. Inside a grand tent with a commanding presence, the soldiers were readying themselves for action.
Leading the group was none other than Zhang Beixing, personally coming to lead the army. At this moment, he wore black clothes, exuding an air of lethal determination. It seemed as if the next moment he would step onto a campaign, invincible wherever he went.
"Master, the scout reports that the people from the Holy See have begun their actions." Richard approached quickly, kneeling on one knee. "They’ve split into two groups, one heading straight for the Imperial City and the other trying to flank our army."
"Oh? That old fellow Michael actually has some skill." Zhang Beixing sneered, not taking it seriously at all. "Well then, I’ll indulge him."
"Master’s wisdom is unparalleled! I’ll go immediately to deploy and prepare the troops!" Richard rejoiced upon hearing this, nodding repeatedly. Solving problems for the Master was a lifelong honor for him.
"Wait a moment." Zhang Beixing suddenly raised his hand, signaling him not to say more. "For this battle, I will personally take charge."
"But Master, in case..." Richard showed concern, fearing the Master might encounter trouble. After all, the enemy was coming in fiercely, and the rear was vulnerable. If a mistake was made, they might exploit it...
"No worries, I have my own discretion." Zhang Beixing replied casually, confident and composed. "With us joining forces, who else in the world dares to act recklessly?"
"Besides, I’ve long since known about the Holy Artifact in the hands of the Holy See." His gaze carried an unfathomable depth, as if everything was under his control.
"What? Master... Why didn’t you mention this earlier?" Richard was shocked, almost doubting his ears. Could it be that the Master had other plans?
[Host, at this point, shouldn’t you let them know as well?] The Persuasion System interrupted inappropriately, its voice leisurely. It seemed to have anticipated this outcome.
"Alright." Zhang Beixing nodded, speaking slowly: "Do you all remember the sword I obtained from the Demon Race years ago?"
"Of course." Richard and Alina replied in unison, eyes full of reverence. That sword was indeed the Master’s first divine weapon!
Zhang Beixing’s lips curved slightly, speaking slowly: "Actually, there’s an unknown secret about that sword." "When I first seized this sword from the Demon Race, I sensed it contained a mysterious power." "After years of research, I finally understood its mysteries." "This sword is called the Blade of the Sun, a divine artifact left by the Sun God in ancient times." "Legend has it that it possesses the power to dispel all darkness, allowing its wielder to be as brilliant as the sun, invincible wherever they go."
Upon hearing this, the entire audience was in an uproar, everyone stunned and in disbelief.
"Master, do you mean..." Richard murmured, eyes wide open, with a bold guess forming in his mind.
"That’s right." Zhang Beixing nodded slightly, his gaze piercing. "If I can harness the power of this sword, combined with my cultivation over the years..." "I have confidence to rival the Holy Artifact of the Holy See!"
In an instant, the air in the tent seemed to solidify. Everyone held their breath, fearing they might miss something.
"Master, are you... truly certain?" Alina asked cautiously, her beautiful eyes full of concern. As a Princess of the Vampire race, she knew better than anyone present the terrifying nature of supernatural power.
Zhang Beixing did not answer immediately, but slowly drew the side sword from his waist. The sword’s body was crystal clear, radiating a dazzling light, as if a fierce sun was burning within it.
"Everyone, please watch." He swung his wide sleeve, unexpectedly swinging the sword in his hand fiercely toward the void.
Buzz—
A dazzling pillar of light suddenly shot forth from the sword tip, roaring like a giant dragon towards the sky.
In the blink of an eye, the sky outside the tent was enveloped in a golden glow, shining brightly, blindingly.
"What... what kind of power is this?!" The Blood Shadow Clone involuntarily retreated a step, face pale. As a formidable expert of the Demon Race, even he felt fear at this moment.
Everybody was incredibly shocked, each one dumbfounded. Had they not seen it with their own eyes, they would hardly believe such a powerful divine artifact existed in the world.
[It seems I underestimated you before.] The voice of the Persuasion System echoed once more in Zhang Beixing’s mind. [This kind of skill truly makes one look at you anew.]
Zhang Beixing sheathed the sword, a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth. "Thanks for the compliment, I’ve simply had good luck." "Moreover, with an omnipotent system like you around, what do I have to worry about?"
[Heh, that’s indeed right.] The Persuasion System chuckled softly, evidently satisfied with such praise. [Then when do you intend to set off?]
"Today." Zhang Beixing said resolutely, his gaze firm. "I’ve already waited long enough." "It’s time for those self-proclaimed righteous hypocrites to taste my power!"
With that, he strode boldly out of the military tent, his upright back conveying an air of dominance over the world.
"Subordinates are willing to go through fire and water for the Master, ready to die a thousand deaths without regret!" The generals shouted in unison, each one full of fighting spirit. With such a peerless hero leading, what was there to fear?
