Extraordinary Genius

Chapter 779 – The proud Kirilenko

The next morning, Feng Yu brought Elena along with him for his jog. Elena was elated. This was her first time going out with Feng Yu alone. She was overjoyed even when it was only a jog around the neighborhood.

Susan and the other women were hiding in ‘ambush’ nearby. They wanted to have a ‘chance encounter’ with Feng Yu. But today, all of them were shocked.

Who was that woman? She was young, pretty, fair, and had the perfect figure. Where did this woman come from?

Susan and the rest had confidence in their looks, but compared to Elena, they were miles apart. No wonder this tycoon did not even look at them. He had a young and pretty girlfriend.

Some of these women did not give up. They felt they have bigger boobs. Maybe that tycoon would notice them.

However, they were ignored. They still could not get the chance to speak to Feng Yu. They were stopped by Feng Yu’s bodyguards and were warned not to get any closer.

Although Elena was not very smart and does not know English, she could tell what those women were up to. Did Mr. Feng tell them that I am his girlfriend?

Elena knew Feng Yu might be treating her as a shield to ward off those women. But she was still ecstatic. Even if she could only be Mr. Feng’s girlfriend for a brief moment, she was satisfied.

“Elena, how long will you be staying here?” Feng Yu asked.

Elena shook her head. “I also don’t know. I am satisfied to be able to meet you again. I will go back tomorrow.”

Feng Yu rubbed Elena’s head: “I am not asking you to go back. You can stay here longer if you want. I will be going back to China after the New Year. Can you return to Moscow then? It might affect your performance. Do you mind?”

Elena’s eyes brightened up and nodded her head. “I will listen to Mr. Feng’s arrangement.”

“Call me Feng or Feng Yu in the future. Stop calling me, Mr. Feng. It felt too distanced.”

“Ok.” Elena had a broad smile on her face.”

“Feng, you all started before me,” Kirilenko said behind Feng Yu.

Elena was about to stand up, but Feng Yu pressed her down on her shoulders. Kirilenko did not mind and sat down. He grabbed one Chinese pie and finished it in a few bites.

“This is delicious, but it’s too small.” Kirilenko was stuffing his face as he said this.

Kirilenko had treated this place as his own home. He really treated Feng Yu as his best friend, and Feng Yu was glad to see him feeling so comfortable in his house. Kirilenko was not a scheming person, and Feng Yu felt relax being with him.

“Sister Zhao, can you make more pies? Brother Ki has a huge appetite.” Feng Yu shouted to the kitchen.

“Ok. It will be ready soon.” Sister Zhao brought fried and hard-boiled eggs to the table and returned to the kitchen to bake more Chinese pies.

Elena peeled a hard-boiled egg and place it on Feng Yu’s plate. She ate very little to maintain her slim figure.

Kirilenko was glad to see Feng Yu and Elena so close. He felt like he is the ‘old man under the moon’ from Chinese mythology.

“Feng, did you come to the US to invest in Microsoft?” Kirilenko asked while drinking the congee.

“The main reason is to invest in Microsoft. But I still want to invest in something else. Now, basically, no one will sell their Microsoft shares. Even if anyone is willing to sell, the volume is too little. But you can still get some other related shares. This type of shares has high potential.” Feng Yu said.

Kirilenko replied with disdain. “What’s so special about Microsoft. It’s only a software company. These Americans are so ignorant. Our Russian software is the best in the world. We have the world’s best mathematicians and engineers. My market analysts are all the best in their fields.”

Feng Yu frowned. The former Soviet Union had researched into PC. They were one of the best in the world. Russia had taken over most of the former Soviet Union’s assets, and there was nothing wrong for Kirilenko to claim that Russia is one of the best in the world. But aren’t those talents working for the Government and military?

Why was Kirilenko saying that he had employed those top mathematicians and engineers? Those people can work for private companies now? Did Kirilenko used his father’s connection to hire them?”

“Brother Ki, those analysts you hired are those software engineers?”

“No. They should be considered mathematicians and engineers. They were formerly with the military, and their jobs are calculating the trajectory of missiles. They have to know how to build a program to calculate the trajectory. But as you know, the Soviet Union was disintegrated, and we slow down our research into missiles. The military does not need so many people anymore. Many of them had lost their jobs, and my assistant suggests to hire them to build a program to analyze the NYSE. My assistant noticed that the market graphs are similar to the missile’s trajectory.”

Feng Yu’s jaws dropped. Those missile engineers and mathematicians can still be used to analyze the stock market? He had heard of rumors in his previous life that Russia’s software engineers were formerly mathematicians and engineers from the Government and military. But he did not know that these people were formally researching and developing missiles.

Are there any connections between missiles and the stock market?

“Can you show me the market trend and graphs they make?” Feng Yu asked. These belong to Kirilenko, and even if Kirilenko refused, Feng Yu would not say anything.

Kirilenko agreed readily. “No problem. I will call them to email the information you want to you. Those people still have not arrived yet. I am sure you will be impressed with them when you meet them.”

Feng Yu realized that Kirilenko did not come to the US unprepared. Kirilenko had seen the analysis of those engineers on the stock market and had come to the US to make a killing.

“Brother Ki, can your people make other software?” Feng Yu’s impression of Russian software in his previous life was Kaspersky. It’s antivirus software.”

Kaspersky had owned a fair share of the market share and was popular in China. But later, most of the antivirus software in China was free, and it was hard to profit from antivirus software. Kaspersky slowly changed direction and move into cybersecurity for corporate.

“Other software? What do you mean? Office software? Antivirus? Or some other professional software? Let me tell you this, there is no software they cannot develop!” Kirilenko proudly replied.

The Russian software industry is so powerful now? It’s a pity that the Russia government in Feng Yu’s life did not offer support for them. If not, Russia might become the world’s top software development country. But this will not be good for the development of China’s software industry.

It’s just like Canada’s software industry could not develop well because of the US. The software industry in the US is too strong and had overshadowed them.

“Can they develop operating systems?”
