Exiled Villainess: They Threw Me Out, Now Every Beastman Wants Me
Chapter 255 Very Competent Workers
Tera carefully laid out the saws, and the males stared at them with the deep suspicion of creatures who had survived this long by not touching things they didn’t understand.
The saw, unlike the other tools Tera had given them, looked too sharp.
The clan members remembered the scissors.
"Is this like the ’no touchy’ double blade?" one of them asked.
’Wtf is no touchy?’
[? (′?`)?a?a?a]
[Host, he means the scissors]
’How am I supposed to know?!’
There were so many things she had told them not to touch carelessly.
Tera picked up the first saw, the large one with the serrated blade designed to cut through high-density material, and held it up.
"This," she pointed, "is a saw."
Silence.
"It cuts things."
More silence.
One of the wolves leaned toward a clan member. "What does ’cuts’ mean in this situation?"
Tera’s mouth pursed in mild annoyance. Did she always give cryptic messages for her to get this kind of question?
She almost wanted to cry at the ridiculousness of the situation.
"Cut is cut!"
Tera demonstrated on a section of pink bamboo she’d had the males prop up against a tree.
It was heavier than she had expected, and she had been disgracefully reminded of that when she had tried to lift it, and it wouldn’t budge.
Tera positioned the blade, applied pressure, and drew the saw back and forth in smooth, even strokes. The teeth bit into the dense surface, and pink dust sprayed outward in fine clouds.
After a minute or two, a clean disc of bamboo separated and dropped to the ground.
She held up the saw triumphantly. "See? Simple. Who wants to try first?"
Multiple males raised their hands, but one of the wolves kept jumping high with both hands raised.
Holding back a chuckle, Tera called him forward.
Jumping with excitement, the wolf took the saw from Tera. He examined it, turned it upside down, turned it sideways, held it up to his eye like he was sighting down an arrow, and before a bewildered Tera could tell him to cut already, he swung it down like an axe.
The blade hit the stalk with a dull CLANG. The young wolf’s arms vibrated from the impact, and he dropped the saw, stumbling back with a dazed look as he cradled his hand.
Tera’s mouth dropped open.
[( ???)]
[This system is already concerned]
The wolf blinked at her, still holding his hand. "It didn’t work."
Her clan members looked at the wolf like he was stupid, and Calis was clearly irritated. He literally didn’t copy the same actions Tera had made.
"Because you’re using it wrong!"
"But you said it cuts things."
With Tera preoccupied, another young wolf had picked up a second saw and was testing the edge with his thumb. Tera’s soul left her body.
"DON’T TOUCH THE TEETH!"
He jerked his hand away, eyes wide. The saw clattered to the ground.
A third wolf had picked up a saw and was dragging it across the bamboo—but sideways, so the flat edge was just scraping uselessly along the surface, producing a sound like a dying animal and absolutely no cutting.
One of Tera’s clan members couldn’t hold it in any longer. He turned away, shoulders shaking, pressing his fist against his mouth.
Another clan member caught his eye, and they both looked away from each other immediately, because making eye contact would end them.
{PervyGoddess believes these wolves are imbeciles}
{BeastWorldAddict chastises PervyGoddess, says they shouldn’t blame them}
Calis rushed to the males, smacking all of them across the backs of their heads.
"What are you doing, you idiots?!"
’How many Legacy Points do I have again?’
[Legacy Points: 16,700]
’Get me that boost and turn it on!’
[Right away, Host!]
[?( •? ? •? )?]
[5,000 LP consumed]
[Tool Instinct Boost purchased!]
[Tool Instinct is now Active!]
{BeastWorldAddict watches with eager anticipation}
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then—
The wolf who had been using the saw as a back-scratcher paused. He looked down at the tool in his hand. His grip shifted, almost imperceptibly, his fingers finding the handle like they’d been there a thousand times. He turned toward the nearest bamboo stalk, positioned the blade against the surface, and started cutting.
His eyes went wide.
Across the clearing, the wolves and her clan members started picking out the saws and adjusting their grip. Their hesitation vanished and was replaced by a fluid understanding that moved through the group like a wave.
The males stared at their own hands as they worked, bewildered by their competence.
Even her mates were stunned as they got to work. This was easier to learn than the other things Tera had taught them.
{PervyGoddess can’t stop laughing}
{BeastWorldAddict claps}
Tera laughed nervously at how happy the males were.
She felt really bad, and her conscience kept taking stabs as her mates and the other males rushed to her, happy that they were suddenly experts and how Tera had taught them easily.
’You poor things...’
They must never know about this.
[???(??????)?]
The males worked. And they worked FAST.
Tera had marked the bamboo stalks with her own saw at precise intervals. The measurements for the foundation posts, the floor joists, the cross-braces. She’d expected the cutting to take most of the day. Between the density of the pink bamboo and the beasts’ miraculous familiarity with tools, she’d mentally allocated a few hours for this phase alone.
The first wolf finished his stalk in under ten seconds.
Tera blinked.
’What the fuck?’
The saw passed through the bamboo so quickly that the separated piece barely had time to fall before the wolf was already repositioning for the next mark.
Another beast was producing clean cuts at the same speed. It looked like they were barely even struggling with it.
[Why is Host so surprised?]
[( ??? )]
[Host seems to forget that she is no longer working with humans]
’I know that!’
After all, she had already carried out tasks with these beasts. However, she still hadn’t expected them to cut away this fast.
But upon closer inspection, it really made sense.
