Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 838: The Empire Arrival

Chapter 838: The Empire Arrival

Like the steward had said, it did not take long for Michael and the others to arrive at their destination.

The airship descended smoothly through the clouds before slowing to a steady hover just above the forest canopy. Runes along its underside glowed faintly as stabilizing arrays activated, dispersing wind pressure and pushing loose debris away from the landing zone below.

One by one, the young nobles disembarked.

When Michael stepped off, his feet met solid ground in complete silence. He did not look back immediately, but when he finally did, he watched the airship rise again.

The massive vessel ascended with controlled grace as it turned away from the temporary expedition site.

Within moments, it was already retreating into the sky.

Only then did Michael turn his attention forward and observe their location.

They stood within a forest.

At first glance, it looked ordinary.

Tall, ancient trees stretched skyward, their branches forming a layered canopy that filtered sunlight into soft green rays. The air carried the scent of damp bark and wild vegetation. Wind moved gently through the leaves, producing a calm, almost soothing rustle that made the clearing feel deceptively peaceful.

But that illusion of normalcy ended the moment one looked closer.

Clustered across the clearing were newly constructed buildings. Watchtowers stood at strategic points, manned by armored personnel belonging to different factions.

Foreign faces were everywhere.

And at the center of it all stood the most important structure present.

A portal.

It towered above the clearing like a natural monument, yet its existence was anything but natural.

A swirling gate of green and blue hues rotated slowly in midair. The colors folded into each other like liquid light, forming a layered vortex that distorted the surrounding space.

Energy pulsed from it in rhythmic waves.

Michael’s eyes narrowed slightly as he observed it.

Even from a distance, he could feel the density of power radiating from the gate.

Around the portal, multiple formation arrays had been deployed, reinforcing stability and suppressing overflow energy.

Arianne’s Flame Lion released a low rumble beside him, instinctively reacting to the pressure emanating from the gate. The other two beasts reacted in their own ways as well, but Michael also noticed the odd sense of excitement emerging from them rather than fear.

Renn’s gaze sharpened the moment it landed on the portal.

Uga, who had been half asleep moments ago, slowly opened one eye.

"...Big door," he muttered.

Michael did not respond.

His attention remained fixed forward.

This was it.

The entrance to the ruins of a legendary existence.

A legendary being in this world was comparable to a Rank Four Awakener.

Or, by Aurora’s classification...

An Emperor Rank cultivator.

Beings who had condensed their Law Domain.

Michael was no longer a novice and understood how ruin spaces like this came to be.

It was said that when certain Rank Four superpowers approached death, they could condense everything they had mastered at the final moment.

Their Law Domain.

Their authority.

Their comprehension of space.

All of it compressed and folded inward.

Then, through spatial mastery, they carved out an alternate realm.

A separate space detached from the main world.

A self contained domain born from the culmination of their path.

Sometimes it happened naturally as their power collapsed inward at death.

Other times, it was deliberate.

A final act of will.

Many did this to leave behind inheritances.

Some did it out of pride, unwilling to let their path fade from history.

Others did it to pass on their legacy to a worthy successor.

Which category this legendary Beast Tamer belonged to remained unknown.

But one thing was certain.

Even if the legendary Beast Tamer had left nothing intentionally behind, after so many years of dormancy, this ruin space that carried the characteristics of that being’s Law would have naturally produced treasures of its own.

This was not speculation.

Starting from full comprehension of a Law, one could say such beings had become one with the world itself.

For resources to manifest from their lingering domain after death was neither impossible nor unheard of.

Arianne’s gaze lingered on the portal for a moment longer before shifting toward the surrounding structures.

Other groups were already moving.

Banners from different kingdoms and factions fluttered above fenced sections of the clearing. Some bore crests. Others displayed foreign insignias Michael did not recognize.

Each faction had claimed a temporary space, forming camps reinforced with guards, supply crates, and defensive formations.

Arianne tightened her grip on the reins and spoke quietly.

"We should head to our faction’s space. Everyone else is doing the same."

Michael nodded once.

He felt the same.

Before stepping into an unknown domain, any piece of current information mattered.

He had only taken a few steps when the atmosphere shifted again.

A pressure swept across the clearing.

Then a loud voice resounded from the sky, amplified by some sort of technique.

"Make way. The Empire Prince has arrived."

Heads snapped upward.

Above the canopy, a ship emerged through the clouds.

Majestic was the only word that fit.

Uga sat up fully now, blinking at the sky.

"Big ship," he muttered, suddenly awake.

Renn’s expression tightened.

Though he was momentarily taken aback by the ship’s appearance, his concern lay elsewhere. His thoughts drifted to the announcement itself.

Which prince?

Unlike months ago, Renn was no longer ignorant.

One of the lessons drilled into him after the tournament by his teacher was the weight of power and status.

Perhaps to motivate him or something else, Verren had revealed who Renn last opponent was.

The man he had knocked unconscious in his match had not just been a noble.

He had been a royal prince of the Black Serpent Empire, the very empire the Lionheart Kingdom stood beneath.

Renn was not afraid of someone he had already defeated.

But he did hope...

He would not have to cross paths with such a figure again.
