Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World

Chapter 585 Chaos [2]

Chapter 585 Chaos [2]

The void cracked like glass under the crystalline-horned beast’s roar.

With a single sweep of its arm, the three leaders withdrew, their bodies vanishing from the void. They did not waste their strength clashing with the ‘guardians’-they would conserve it for the “fruit” itself.

What followed was madness.

Dozens of Rank 3 monsters surged as one, descending on Michael’s five undead with ferocity. Laws erupted in every direction.

Firestorms raged, blotting out the void-sky. Spears of earth ripped from nothing, while lightning storms howled bright.

The first collision was apocalyptic.

Prince’s vines lashed outward, thousands upon thousands weaving together into a black canopy.

Gale wheeled through the storm, his wings slashing arcs of severing wind. Each flap carved through fire and lightning alike, splitting a thunderous lion in two before the beast even realized its body had been pierced.

Beginning and Lily roared together, their Titan forms towering like mountains within the void. When the first wave of monsters tried to overwhelm them, Beginning swung a fist. The air folded like cloth, half a dozen beasts thrown back, their laws scattering in fragments.

Lily followed, her palm smashing down with flames and weight that everything seemed to bend to her command.

Lucky’s flames erupted with pure, searing destruction. The sky itself ‘brightened’ under the blaze, four monsters caught in the torrent screaming as their laws failed to shield them.

This time Lucky used the venom aspect of his law. A law so venomous

it burned just not the body but soul too.

Lucky’s jaws unhinged wider, a torrent of flame-venom bursting forth like a river of molten night. Every ember seethed with corrosive venom.

Four Rank 3s screamed as the tide swallowed them. But before the flames could consume them entirely-

BOOM!

A sound like chains snapping echoed across the void.

From the haze, a towering insectoid monster spread its crystalline wings. Its mandibles clicked, spilling threads of strange light. A domain spread around it, thick and suffocating.

It had unleashed its Law that seemed to be related to sealing.

Laws like this were quite unique as they didn’t follow any elemental-like foundation. Of course, unique didn’t mean powerful but compared to elemental laws that were more times than usual almost the same thing with individual teals by the usual, laws like this were truly unique.

The venom-flames hit the shimmering cocoon of light but didn’t break through.

“First Seal-Quarantine. Second Seal-Stasis,” the mantis hissed, mandibles ringing with law.

Lucky’s eyes narrowed. His law wasn’t beaten. It was being contained.

In the void, the battle continued, and as it went longer, the disadvantage tilted more and more until it fully fell on the undead side. After all, no matter how strong the undead and their laws were, they were outnumbered and somewhat out-leveled as well.

At least, victory seemed to be leaning toward the monsters’ side-until suddenly, one of the Titans on the undead side that was heavily “injured” erupted with terrifying energy two times in a row, like some release of accumulated force.

[Undead Titan – Level 70]

Suddenly, the void trembled.

A while earlier.

Outside the void.

Michael floated in the air, his chest still rising and falling sharply. His mind was a storm.

Even now, he couldn’t quite process it. The black arrow that split the boar. The punch that tore two Rank 3s apart.

What kind of power is this?

But there was no time to dwell. His undead were locked in a brutal

clash,.

Michael’s jaw tightened.

If this keeps going, they’ll be worn down….. what should I do?

The thought weighed on him. He had evolved, but he had only just

begun to grasp this new body.

Suddenly his pupils contracted.

The air shifted.

Three shadows fell across Michael at once.

From the east came a serpent wreathed in emerald light.

From the west, a lion-like monster whose mane burned with golden

flames.

And from above descended a crystalline avian, its wings spreading wide enough to cover a part of the night sky.

The three had surrounded Michael.

The serpent lowered its head, its tongue flicking with disdain. “Fruit…

your guardians are occupied. Now, it is our turn.”

The lion’s mane flared, each ember curling into burning spears.

Above was a hulk beast with a crystalline horn. Its cry was shrill, but

beneath the sound was a voice, cold and sharp as glass.

“Do not resist. It will only make your end more bitter. Yield, and

perhaps we shall make it swift.”

Michael’s brows furrowed. As he floated there, facing these three, the

hairs on his neck bristled.

This wasn’t because of their size, or even their numbers. It was the

weight they gave off.

His instincts screamed at him.

Without meaning to, Michael had already triggered [Detect]. The

results flickered into his mind like a brand.

[Serpent Beast – Level 64]

[Lion Flame Horror – Level 66]

[Crystal Raptor – Level 67]

Michael’s chest tightened.

All above sixty… and stronger than anything I’ve faced until now.

Michael didn’t know what was happening or why, but he understood

one thing clearly-the three had come for him. That alone was enough to confirm what he had already begun to suspect: he was the cause of everything unfolding here.

Without hesitation, Michael activated every {Bull Strength} and {Iron

Skin}.

The skills surged through his veins, the familiar enhancements wrapping around his body. Yet even as they did, Michael felt the

difference.

It was still {Bull Strength}. Still {Iron Skin}. Still the same mastery levels as before. But the sensation wasn’t the same. His flesh seemed denser, his bones harder, his muscles thrumming with an intensity that hadn’t been there before.

The effect gap of now and then was terrifying.

It was as if something changed.

Unfortunately, Michael didn’t have time to savor the discovery.

A sonic crack split the air. The serpent blurred, its scales trailing lines

of green that hissed against the wind.

Fast!

Michael’s instincts screamed. He could dodge-but no, even if he

twisted away, the serpent’s range was too wide, its strike too precise.

There was no escape.

So he did the only thing he could.
