Evolving My Undead Legion In A Game-Like World
Chapter 1352 Issue Of Fate
"It's not really noticeable when she's back home, but Lily has grown," Jester muttered with satisfaction while rubbing his beardless chin. "She's still rough around the edges, though. Compared to the other youth beside her, she's still lacking a lot."
This was Jester's first time seeing Timi, and although his abilities were severely limited in this world, what little he had observed already told him quite a lot.
It was just a pity that the youth couldn't become his master's undead. Had he become one of his master's undead, his future would have been much brighter.
"Such a shame, but it's not like I can ignore the feelings of the will of this world, after all."
It was a rather unexpected situation for Jester.
Based on his calculations and what he had heard from Lily, this was a new world, so the power level permitted here should be quite low.
At the very least, he hadn't expected this world to permit the use of Laws. Contrary to his expectations, however, he could still use his own.
While it was heavily suppressed, even this limited access was far more effective than the various alternative methods he had developed to compensate for its absence.
The reason for this was this world's 'will'.
For some reason unknown to Jester, he could sense a bit of 'goodwill' from it.
It was strange, but the most probable conclusion his calculations produced was that his fate was 'tied' to some degree with this world.
Jester didn't find this particularly surprising, since he wouldn't have sensed an opportunity here otherwise, but the matter now looked more complicated than he had expected.
Still, everything was in his favour.
"Is this where my opportunity lies?"
Jester's eyes turned golden, with several small magic circles swimming within them as he observed the three individuals from a distance.
Through his altered vision, he could see numerous lines surrounding each of them.
Lily and her opponent possessed the densest concentrations of fate lines, although Lily's far surpassed his.
As for Timi, only a few lines were attached to him, and unlike those surrounding the other two, his appeared almost reluctant to remain connected.
These lines were naturally related to their fates, but more specifically, they represented their connections to this realm.
It was also why Jester knew he couldn't casually do anything to Timi despite the relatively weak connections surrounding him.
Even though the will of this world didn't seem to have much of a relationship with the youth, it still shielded him like its own child.
As for Lily and the opponent she was facing, Jester could see that their fate ties to this realm were largely influenced by external factors.
Jester quickly performed a calculation and obtained several answers.
"I can't tell much about the other party, but it seems Lily's ties to this realm are largely due to Master for some reason. Stranger still is why Master seems to have such deep fate ties with this world even from far away. Is it possible he visited here before?"
Although Jester was curious, he didn't waste any more energy calculating such matters.
"In any case, this makes the situation surrounding me much easier to understand. If everything is related to Master's connection with this world, it would explain why I could sense an opportunity here in the first place and why Lily possesses such strong fate ties."
"It also explains why I can use my Law. I'm freeloading off Master's aura," Jester muttered as he turned to examine himself, noticing the somewhat dense lines of fate surrounding him as well.
"But what's the opportunity I'm sensing, though? Where is it?!"
Thinking of this, Jester ignored the ongoing fight, sat down where he was, and delved deeper into his Law to perform another calculation.
With his Law suppressed, he couldn't accomplish nearly as much as he could at his peak. However, he soon discovered a loophole that made his calculations easier.
It just happened to involve the three people fighting not far from him.
Using their unusual fate ties as a starting point, Jester probed deeper into the mysteries concealed within this world.
However, he hadn't gotten far when three loud voices suddenly erupted within his mind, sending a powerful shock through his sea of consciousness.
"HOW DARE YOU!"
"Impudent creature!!"
"You filthy little thing! Who allowed you to look into what does not concern you?!"
The three voices echoed within Jester's sea of consciousness almost simultaneously.
Each carried anger, yet their tones were completely different.
The first voice was masculine, dignified, and majestic, with every word carrying natural authority.
Even in anger, it retained a certain grandeur.
The second was equally imposing, but its authority came from an entirely different source.
It was heavy with pride and natural disdain.
As for the third voice, it was feminine.
Compared to the other two, it sounded considerably more human, with an unmistakable emotional quality to its anger.
However, there was also a strange allure hidden within it.
Even while expressing murderous hostility, the voice remained charming, almost enchanting.
"…!"
Jester's expression changed.
Before he could properly react, three separate visions suddenly appeared within his consciousness.
The first was a heavenly realm.
Endless clouds floated beneath an enormous expanse of radiant light, while magnificent structures could be seen in the distance.
At the center of this realm stood a throne.
It appeared to be formed entirely from some kind of extraordinary plant, with countless vines and branches intertwining to create an elaborate seat.
A man sat upon it.
His appearance was dignified, and although his expression wasn't particularly fierce, the frown currently forming on his face conveyed unmistakable displeasure.
His gaze was directed straight toward Jester.
Or rather, toward the place from which Jester was observing him.
It was almost as though the man could see through the distance separating them.
Before he could examine the man any further, the second vision became clearer.
This time, the surroundings were completely different.
There was no heavenly radiance or magnificent vegetation.
Instead, Jester found himself looking at an enormous throne constructed from countless bones.
Some were small, while others were so enormous that they clearly couldn't have belonged to ordinary creatures.
Seated upon the throne was an exceptionally handsome demon.
His appearance was almost flawless, possessing a beauty that even members of the elven race would struggle to rival.
His eyes were filled with arrogance.
Even while sitting motionlessly, he seemed to regard everything beneath him with absolute contempt.
Then came the third vision.
Unlike the first two, this one was filled with vegetation.
However, the plants were unlike anything one would consider normal.
Some possessed enormous flowers whose petals resembled beautiful pieces of flesh.
Others had slender vines that moved slowly through the air, their surfaces covered with strange patterns.
They all emitted a faint, seductive glow.
The entire place was eerily beautiful.
It resembled a magnificent garden, yet every part of it carried an unmistakably demonic atmosphere.
At the center of this strange garden was a woman.
She was extraordinarily beautiful.
Her long hair fell freely behind her, while a thin, translucent white dress covered her body.
Her eyes were completely white.
There were no visible pupils, only an uninterrupted whiteness that gave her already extraordinary appearance an unsettling quality.
At this moment, those eyes were staring directly at him.
