Chapter 1005: Constructing Vassel
Chapter 1005: Constructing Vassel
After dealing with the three figures, Michael finally felt much of the heaviness inside his heart clear away. His thoughts became clearer again and his mind no longer felt clouded by emotion.
However, aside from the empire, Michael was now plagued with a new problem.
Arianne’s revival.
In the purple world within his storage ring, Michael slowly exhaled while rubbing the space between his brows helplessly.
According to Jester, reviving Arianne would require Michael to use his Genesis Body skill to create the perfect vessel for her soul. At first, Michael truly believed the process would not be difficult.
After all, had he not already created a clone body for himself before? Even if Michael personally considered that clone imperfect, the vessel itself had still been extremely powerful. It had perfectly housed one of his most unique undead after all.
Naturally, Michael assumed creating another body should not be overly complicated.
Only after actually beginning the process for Arianne did Michael realize just how mistaken he had been. The requirements were completely different. Creating a generic body was one thing. Creating a body specifically compatible with a particular soul was another matter entirely.
Michael sat on the ground, and before him were countless drawings and designs. Some resembled human anatomical structures. Others looked more like magical pathways.
In Michael’s hand floated a single crimson drop of blood.
Meanwhile, beside him, Jester continued drawing calmly without pause.
Scratch. Scratch.
The sound of the pen moving across paper echoed continuously throughout the quiet space.
Michael stared at the enormous pile of designs before him for several seconds before finally speaking helplessly. "...Is all of this really necessary?"
Jester did not stop drawing. "The vessel is the most important part," he answered calmly. "However, compatibility between the soul and vessel would naturally be best."
He casually pushed another completed design to the side before continuing. "If Master simply wishes to revive this lady normally, then many shortcuts can be taken."
Jester finally looked up. His gaze moved toward Arianne’s corpse currently sealed peacefully within ice nearby. The young woman looked almost asleep.
"If Master is not bothered by this lady waking up with a male reproductive organ," Jester said calmly while pointing toward the frozen Arianne, "then we can skip this entire process."
Silence filled the purple world instantly afterward.
Michael stared at him blankly. The next second, the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
In the end, Michael had to admit Jester was right. If he was going to do something, then he should do it properly. The thought of Arianne waking up inside an identical clone of his already felt strange enough. One had to understand that Michael’s clones were not puppets or dead shells. They were living lifeforms.
The more Michael thought about it, the stranger the entire situation became. What if Arianne woke up one morning only to discover some hard surprise waiting for her? And then there were the hormones. Michael genuinely believed that kind of situation would drive almost anyone insane eventually.
The corner of his mouth twitched slightly. "...Fine," Michael finally admitted helplessly.
Jester gave a small nod before calmly continuing his drawings again.
Scratch. Scratch.
The sound echoed continuously throughout the purple world.
Michael lowered his gaze toward the countless designs spread around the floor once more. Then suddenly, his expression became strange.
"...Wait."
He picked up one particular drawing. Michael stared at it for several seconds silently before slowly raising an eyebrow.
"Jester."
"Yes, Master?"
Michael lifted the paper higher. "I can understand creating a body identical to the original." His gaze narrowed slightly. "But why exactly does this design have a tail?"
Silence filled the surroundings briefly.
Then Jester looked over calmly at the drawing in Michael’s hand. "Oh."
His tone remained completely natural. "I simply thought perhaps Master would enjoy it. Lily told me you enjoyed watching animations of this sort when you were younger."
PAK!
Michael instantly smacked the back of Jester’s head. Jester’s head tilted slightly forward from the hit.
"You undead freak."
Michael’s face darkened slightly.
Jester calmly rubbed the back of his head afterward. "Master should not underestimate tails." He spoke with complete seriousness.
"Based on my observations, many races throughout the universe possess them. Beastkin, dragons, fox spirits, demons, certain void races..." Jester adjusted another paper calmly. "Furthermore, tails improve balance. I figured we could upgrade her as we give her a new life. Is this not Master’s plan for his new subject?"
PAK!
Michael smacked the back of his head again. Jester finally fell silent afterward while Michael stared at him with a dark expression.
For several seconds, neither of them spoke. Then eventually, Michael sighed heavily while rubbing his forehead helplessly.
Sometimes he truly wondered what exactly Jester had become after absorbing all those memories.
"Also, she is not my subject. I don’t plan to use her for anything. Our priority is to bring her back to life. Don’t get distracted with things I did not ask you to do." He paused briefly before adding, "Though I suppose I did say to help me create a perfect vessel. That one’s on me."
As Michael focused on constructing Arianne’s body, his thoughts drifted back to the attack on the demonic faction. It should have started by now. Unfortunately his hands were tied, and he could only hope the academy and Federation managed well.
Meanwhile, back in the Land of Origin, Michael had finally caught up with two figures who were currently resting in a forest.
After dealing with the three people who stood at the root of everything, Michael immediately went after the third prince of the empire.
Initially, he would have preferred for the Third Prince to safely arrive at the empire before him. However, Michael realized he could no longer bring himself to wait patiently.
Fortunately, thanks to the memories he absorbed from the empire’s men a few hours earlier, Michael already possessed a general understanding of the route leading back toward the empire.
